My day started like anybody’s, I was supposed to go to school, but me and my friend decided not to go to school because that’s what we did. We rode the W4 until the end of the line. The bus driver Didnt say anything to us because he had other problems like rude customers and so on and so forth. We eventually ran into some other kids from the neighborhood. They joked about snitching on us because we were not in school. We basically lied and said we got out early, but we definitely lied because we were in middle, we had full day schedules. They continued to badger us and keep asking trying to make us snitch on ourselves. We kindly changed the subject and got back on the the bus. Okay so this is a story from my childhood. Me, my friend, and her sister was at a metro station by our neighborhood after we got off the bus. A man walked up. Asked us do we believe in life after death. We looked at each other puzzled. He then reached in his pocket to grab something. We all thought we were about to be shot or something. My friend’s sister took off running. He then pulled something out of his coat. Smh. It was a pamphlet about church. We thought we was going to meet our maker that day. We looked at each other and laughed. By that time, my friend’s sister was already home. Better safe than sorry is what I always say!!!

We got to my friends house and the first thing her mother said was “Why somebody tell me they say yah at the station?? We both said at the same time. They tripping. Lol. That’s exactly why when men tell me that in 2020 I know they lying! We looked at each other while walking away. We chilled in my friends room for a while, ate seafood, and talked about how we just got away with what we told my friends mom. Next we went outside and saw what we can get into. It was this really cute guy that I liked with skin that was everything. I thought he was going to be my husband. Little did I know chocolate boys with long pretty hair don’t only talk to one girl at a time. Oh how naive I was to think that a guy would only pick me. I remember the little childish games I would play with the boys I liked in the neighborhood. I would tell this guy I used to hang with to act like he didn’t like me so that he would walk up to this guy and say bad stuff about me then ask the other guy if I was his girl. He did it. He said yes. But only the universe truly knows that that is a myth. I would be lonely for the rest of my years because I appreciate me more than the world did. I just wanted to be loved. I just wanted to be apart of someone’s life. I never had that. I just wanted someone to not give up on me. But everybody did. Looking for love in all the wrong places. But I wasn’t supposed to know that because I was just a kid. Thinking I was cute. Wearing my friends clothes. And doing my own hair. Those were the days when I didn’t have to worry about anything at all. Life had gotten harder as an adult because nobody could of gotten me prepared for adulthood. It was in such a rush to be an adult, look at me now!!!
