"My Heart Is Heavy..." - Akah Nnani BLOWS HOT in Support of Natasha Akpoti (VIDEO)

Akah speaks his mind

Nollywood actor Akah Nnani is standing in support with Senator Natasha Akpoti who today has been suspended from the senate following her dispute with senate leader Godswill Akpabio who she accused of sexual harrassment.

In an Instagram video shared on his social media, Akah Nnani spoke about the ordeal saying:

AKAH NNANI: They say home is where the heart is, but my heart is heavy—weighed down by the silence of men, by the echoes of laughter at a woman's pain.

A senator speaks, her voice trembling but true. And they strip her dignity like thieves in the night. They call her names. They twist her past. They turn her story into whispers of shame.

The ones who should fight stand with the beast—not in chains, but by choice—defending the very hands that would shackle them, smiling as their own tongues turn to dust.

If a woman of power is not safe, what of the girl with no name? What of the child sold before she blooms, handed to a man old enough to be her ghost? What of the daughter whose dreams are buried beneath the weight of a stranger's touch?

If justice is mocked in daylight, what hope is there for the unseen?

And what of the ones who flaunt their filth? Draped in riches, empty of honor, parading stolen gold like a badge of glory. No shame. No questions. Just blind applause. A culture where price tags weigh more than the soul.

And the church—with arms wide open, they bless the unclean. Sanctifying greed, washing away consequences, turning altars into stages for the highest bidder. We dance, we sing, we close our eyes, but the rot seeps through the stained glass.

And where are the men? The ones who hold daughters in their arms, the ones who make promises at the altars, the ones who should rage but remain still.

Where are the men?

Evil thrives where good men do nothing. And a nation decays when silence is law. Truth is exiled. Shame is a stranger. Honor is traded for gold.

Is this my country?

No. This is not my home.

A home protects. A home defends. A home does not devour its own.

But I will not be silent. I will not pretend.

If good men will not rise, I will speak.

For silence is the language of the lost.

Writing further, Akah Nnani said in his accompanying caption made alongside the video:

AKAH NNANI: There comes a time when silence is betrayal.

Today, I choose to speak.

This is not just about one woman. This is about a system that has failed to protect its own. If a female senator is not safe, then who is? If a woman in power is ridiculed for speaking up, then what happens to the girl on the street, the woman in the workplace, the child in a classroom?

Good men, where are you? Men with voices, influence, power and integrity must do something.

We cannot keep looking away. We cannot let injustice become culture. We cannot let our daughters inherit a world where their voices are drowned out by mockery, where their pain is entertainment, where their dignity is negotiable.

This is not a fight for women alone. This is a call to men. To raise daughters who won’t turn to prostitution and sons who will shun the call of wisdom for illegal wealth.

To fathers, to brothers, to leaders, to all who claim to stand for truth. We must do better.

Listen to this piece. I hope it stirs something in you. Let it remind you that silence is not neutrality—it is complicity.

Is this my country? No, this is not my home.
