Mr. M. K. Williams

I had not known much about the man behind the long scar across his face. All that was known was the fact he acted exceptionally well on the latest T.V. series. The first time I was made familiar with Mr. Williams was on The Wire. His performance immediately gathered my attention. Instantly I had become a fan of Michael K. Williams. His portrayal of his character was gripping and real. I'd bet the Producers saw the effect he had on the audience and instantly saw gold. I'd bet his mere presence was electrifying. You probably couldn't look the man in his eyes without being drug to wherever he demanded. I never got a chance to fully study the man I admired from a distance. As fate would have it, life remains too short! How could someone who possesses such a needed voice, be snatched away so suddenly? The unexpected loss of genuine artistry cuts deep. Now I must search through the list of movies starring Mr. Williams, or find the interviews or commentaries that were graced by his beautiful soul. The last thing by this humanitarian that I was able to find, was the documentary BLACK MARKET. A Subject so many prominent figures don't speak on, or do not relate, consider or understand. Black Market dives into the underworld of the popularity of drug use in today's social environments. I commend Michael on his courage to attack this problematic, misunderstood topic.

He was born on Nov. 22nd, 1966. He didn't gain his fame and recognition worldwide, until much later in his life. The self-proclaimed recovering addict overcame mountains of disappointments and obstacles. Similar to my own trials & tribulations, the struggle to live is real! The inner power and strength it takes to ultimately contain the demons that desire your destruction is unmeasurable.

My reason for this acknowledgment goes further beyond visual respect for an accomplished entertainer. Admiration is more than the love of his fashionable dress and distinguished style. The Integrity & heart of A man is what grips my own intentions to try to be of likeness. This Black Man was not only for me encouraging, but a testament to humility and sobriety. An example of living and Achieving in your TRUTH. M.K.W. I believe dedicated his life duty to give hope to the hopeful and show proof that the dream is always attainable! His acts of kindness and charity have not in my opinion been pushed by media for the world to recognize. I sincerely give my heartfelt appreciation to the man behind the pain he had to carry. My guy showed no shame or intimidation. He was proof that when faced with adversity, our integrity and resilient approach to redemption in the end, wins!

Michael K. Williams is not only worthy of my Hero consideration, but his Black-Americanism puts him in another category of admiration. Not many of us have had the opportunity to have achieved as much. To give back as much is where the magic is seen, and a legacy is left that can't be denied or unappreciated.

Mr. M .K. Williams left this existence on Sept.6, 2021. of presumed health reasons. Whatever the case, the world has lost a brilliant mind. A much-needed presence in Hollywood. A talent I promise we'll never see again. I'd Like to leave this note of my appreciation on the highest of positivity. Thank you, Mr. Williams, for your thoughtfulness. I truly hope your gifts do not go underappreciated. The top-tier talent you've left to the big screen will forever present the remarkable. We should never forget the man behind the pain! I surely won't!
