MOMENT IN THE MOUNTAIN

A wooden mountain area with a raging river running through the mountains. the sounds of birds chirping, water rushing, and a breeze through the trees all around.

Tex is running on a path in the mountains and hears someone yelling for help. His heartbeat, which was at a steady pace, becomes faster when Tex hears someone yelling. He runs faster and faster toward the screaming.

SKYE: (Screaming) HELP!! HELP!! SOMEONE HHEELLPP!!!!

Tex runs to the edge of the rocky cliff. Skye is hanging from the edge of a cliff as Tex stands above her looking down on around a hundred-foot drop.

TEX: WHOA!!

SKYE: HELP ME!!

TEX: OH RIGHT.

Tex reaches down from the cliff with a stick he found nearby. Skye grabs hold of the stick and Tex pulls her up from the edge of the cliff.

TEX: Grab hold, hold on tight.

Skye is laying on Tex at the top of the cliff and then she rolls off him.

SKYE: Oh my god. Thank you. Thank you. Who are you?

TEX: I’m Tex. Are you ok? Maybe I sure take you to the hospital to get checked out.

SKYE: Name's Skye. No. No. No. I do not need to go to the hospital. I am fine.

Tex is looking into Skye's eyes.

TEX: Ok. But I am still worried about you. How about I take you out for a bite or a drink?

Skye smiles at Tex, looking very interested in what he said.

SKYE: Did you just ask me out?

Tex has a big smile.

TEX: I really just what to make sure you are ok. But yeah, I guess I did. Is that weird?

Skye and Tex smiling at each other.

SKYE: No not weird. Yes, I would like to go for a drink with you. You did sort of save my life.

TEX: I guess I did, didn’t I.

Later that night, in front of the diner with people walking in. sound of cars passing by and a bell as the diner door opens.

SKYE: Who knew you can meet someone just by hanging around.

TEX: (Laughing) Yeah. Who needs internet dating right?

SKYE: Exactly what I was thinking.

Tex and Skye are laughing and dancing by the jukebox. other people in diner joining in and dancing. the music picks up a tune from the jukebox, low volume, some type of love by Charlie Puth.

SKYE: (Laughing)

TEX: (Laughing)

Sometimes you are in a horrible situation and your thinking. This is it. This is how it ends for me. Not realizing it is just part of your journey leading you to something else. Something better.
