Margot Robbie Expecting First Child with Husband Tom Ackerley
From Hollywood hits to diaper duty, this dynamic duo is ready for their next big role—parenthood!

Hollywood's golden couple, Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley, are about to add a new star to their constellation! The 34-year-old Academy Award nominee and her equally talented husband are expecting their first child, multiple sources confirmed to People.
Their love story is straight out of a movie. Margot and Tom first met on the set of the World War II drama Suite Francaise (2013). Margot was dazzling in front of the camera, while Tom worked his magic as an assistant director. Fast forward to December 2016, the couple surprised everyone with a private wedding ceremony in Byron Bay, Australia, after keeping their engagement completely under wraps. Sneaky, right?
But the surprises don't stop there. The duo co-founded the powerhouse production company LuckyChap Entertainment with Margot's childhood friend Sophia Kerr and their pal Josey McNamara. This dream team is behind hits like I, Tonya, Birds of Prey, and the recent smash, Barbie. Through LuckyChap Entertainment, Margot Robbie and her co-founders are dedicated to championing female narratives by empowering women storytellers in all facets of the industry, including writers, directors, producers, and beyond. They strive to amplify women's voices and create a platform for diverse and authentic female perspectives. With projects like a Monopoly movie and a The Sims adaptation in the works, there's no stopping them.
Tom recently spilled some tea to The Sunday Times about their unique dynamic. "[We spend] 24 hours a day [together]," he shared. "It's seamless. We don't have a toggle on [or] toggle off. It's all become one thing." Talk about couple goals!
Margot Robbie, known for her roles as Harley Quinn and Tonya Harding, has always been candid about her views on motherhood. In a 2019 interview with Radio Times, she expressed her frustration about being constantly asked when she would have children. "It made me really angry; how dare some old guy dictate what I can and can’t do when it comes to motherhood or my own body?" she said. “Unfortunately, it’s a conversation we’re still having. I’m so angry that there’s this social contract,” she added. “You’re married, now have a baby. Don’t presume. I’ll do what I’m going to do.” Preach, Margot!

The couple has also shared some adorable and intimate snippets of their life. Margot once gushed to Vogue in 2016 about how their relationship blossomed from friendship. “I was the ultimate single gal. The idea of relationships made me want to vomit,” she said.
“And then this crept up on me. We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him,” she admitted. “But I thought, ‘Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot.’ And then it happened, and I was like, ‘Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.’”
And let's not forget their playful side. Tom confessed that their biggest arguments are over chocolate biscuits—whether Tim Tams or Penguins are better. Classic!
Margot Robbie may be the queen of Hollywood, but she’s also a master at keeping her personal life under wraps. Despite the media buzz, she stays super private. On the professional front, she’s a powerhouse, rocking both blockbusters and indie flicks. With three Academy Award nominations, six BAFTA nods, and four Golden Globe nominations, Robbie’s trophy shelf must be bursting!
Her breakout role? None other than Martin Scorsese’s infamous "The Wolf of Wall Street" in 2013. She then swung into action with "The Legend of Tarzan" (2016) and stole the show as Harley Quinn in "Suicide Squad" (2016). Her performance as Tonya Harding in "I, Tonya" (2017) was a knockout, earning her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Robbie kept dazzling with roles like Queen Elizabeth I in "Mary Queen of Scots" (2018), Sharon Tate in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" (2019), and a fearless Fox News employee in "Bombshell" (2019).
Recently, she starred as an aspiring actress in "Babylon" (2022) and brought everyone’s favourite doll to life in the blockbuster movie "Barbie" (2023). The latter became her biggest hit, grossing over $1.4 billion worldwide! Robbie also produced "Barbie", snagging an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. Variety reported her $12.5 million paycheck for the role, making her the highest-paid actress that year.
From the Barbenheimer craze to earning top dollars, Margot Robbie continues to shine, both on and off the screen. So, as Margot and Tom gear up for their next big adventure—parenthood—we can't wait to see the adorable photos and heartwarming moments.
Congratulations to the fabulous couple on their exciting news!
