YouTube told me so. It had to be true.
The Law of Attraction is stating what you want as if it was happening now, so it will come to be. Today, I was manifesting.
My phone featured a video titled âHow to Manifest Money,â with a cool looking witch who explained the process. It was my fifth time watching it. But I just had to be sure.
First rule was you needed a new book. Any other journal previously used for math assignments, phone numbers, etc. would mess up the energy. So, a small, blank, black book sat in front of me. College ruled pages. Beige, off-white. I held a new pen in my hand.
My YouTube teacher began stating what she was writing. I copied.
Money comes to me easily and effortlessly. I am a money MAGNET.
Letting the excitement course through me, I continued writing how receiving the money made me feel so happy. That I could pay all my bills and still do whatever I want.
My room lights were on, but the lights of the 21 candles around me flickered violently. Seven of them were white for manifesting, seven were green for money, and seven were black for protection because I am deathly afraid of ghosts.
Today was the day. The day that I manifest 20k.
The comments on the video all said that this had worked for them, that some even received money the day after or received $50 from their parents the day of.
Reddit said that if the amount didnât seem that big to me and that I believed it would be probable, then it would come to be. But if you dwell on it too much, you end up manifesting the desperation.
Not what you want.
That is why, the second and most important rule was letting go.
Easy.
It didnât matter how the money would come to me because I made sure to open every single opportunity possible that would help me gain a miraculous $20,000. Endless Sweepstake entries submitted over the course of 10 hours a day, for 5 days straight. I maxed out their 1 million entry limit.
A bank was hosting additional sweepstakes where if I had deposited $1, I would be entered in a raffle for a $20,000 deposit on the bankâs behalf. Heck, I even have a separate savings account that gives me a lottery ticket for every $25 I saved.
I only had $25 in it of course, because I spent the rest of my paycheck on food and the candles.
But letting go, also meant letting go of the details.
After two hours, all my candles finally burned out and I re-read the entry in my little black book once again to send out good energy into the universe. I didnât know how it was going to happen. But it was going to happen.
I even had a secret weapon. A playlist of âAttract Moneyâ Subliminals. The theory is that they sound like normal music but have affirmations underneath and uses the power of subliminal messaging. The affirmations are inaudible to the human ear. However, my subconscious will pick up on them and will bring them to life.
Turning my phone volume up, I knocked out to a weird assortment of K-pop and piano music.
And it worked.
Sort of.
With the next day, sunshine poured through my curtains and woke me up gently. Grabbing my phone off my nightstand, I checked my bank. Checking was still at -$4.65. No problem. I checked my various savings accounts. Still $1 and $25.15. I had won 15 cents the week before.
Then, I checked my texts.
There was $20,000. In my friendâs account. Big, bold, green letters. The bankâs logo in the corner. An overly bright screenshot of an e-mail she had gotten from the bank we all deposited $1 for, and her name printed after âCongratulations!â
I stared at the black journal I just fell asleep next to.
What did I ever do to you?
