LOVE? What is it for you?

Disclaimer: This is simply my perspective on how I see things. I empathize with you if you’ve experienced something challenging despite your efforts. Each person has unique struggles in life that others may not comprehend. Therefore, I’m speaking generally. If what I say doesn't resonate with your personality or life situation, feel free to ignore it :)

Don’t you think “Unconditional Love” is actually really hard to find these days?

Most men out there want a PERFECT girl—a girl who is no less than Miss World, dresses well, has a great fashion sense, and has an hourglass shape. Only then will she make a perfect partner.

Girls are no different too. They want a PERFECT handsome guy, who has a big body, dresses too well, has MONEY(a lot) to spend on her, and has a perfect jaw-line.

LOVE” is something that has always caught my attention.

What actually is LOVE?

It’s all the small actions, all the small words, all the small expressions that make you feel that you BELONG. Everything that makes you feel you are IMPORTANT. Every smile that gives you peace like HOME. Every touch that tells you how much you MEAN to them.

Every single one of these feelings— We wish for some hero to enter our lives and be that PERFECT person for us. We want to be LOVED. We want CARE. We want to feel respected. We want to feel that we MATTER.

And that’s totally okay. These are some of the most beautiful feelings a person can ever experience.

But, there’s something I always think about.

There’s a flip side to the coin;

Why is it “Us” who EXPECTS? Why do we ALWAYS wish to be experienced but never to Practice?

Why don’t we think of being that comfort soul for someone? For THEM?

Why don’t we wish to provide them with every small action and expression of care to tell them THEY matter the most?

Why can’t WE do everything that we wish to experience?

Although, I’m not a BIG fan of Newton; still there’s one Law devised by him, that I’m sure, everyone remembers, and that is 1000% accurate:

Every Action has always an Equal Reaction with the same Magnitude.

If you want to be LOVED sincerely… You first have to learn how to LOVE sincerely, with all your heart.

If you want to be respected… You first have to RESPECT them wholeheartedly.

If you want to feel you’re special, and that you matter the most… You have to make them feel that they matter the most. That they are all you’ve ever wished for.

I think the intensity of your LOVE matters. The more intensely you CARE about someone, the more strong vibrations are gonna radiate through them.

Have you ever fed an animal? Have you ever cuddled them with love?

If you did…. Have you ever seen the love and strong emotions in their eyes for you?

You can almost see them loving you back. Their eyes speak for it!

If animals do, We’re humans. I think our hearts are more fragile than theirs. Our feelings are more complex than theirs.

Let’s try to LOVE them first. Let’s be that person we wish to see.

We’re humans. All we can do is TRY.

I don’t know if it all made sense to you or not.

My writing can be pretty rough. It’s just ‘cause there’s so much inside that can’t be put together on this digital paper.

    Credit to that Picture:

I was watching this season called ‘Happiness’ on Netflix and this scene stole my heart.

People say I am way too emotional when it comes to Movies or seasons.

Yes, Yes I am.

If there’s something that touches your heart. It deserves a good cry.

I watched ‘All of Us Are Dead’ a few months ago and I was so impressed by the season even though it was all about Zombie Apocalypse, so I had to watch Happiness too.

In the last episode, her lover gets attacked by a disease that makes him look no less than a zombie. He almost turned into one. He looked horrific. But he was her LOVE. How could she forget his care, respect, and enormous LOVE for her?

In this particular scene when she sees him in that horrific state, she says,

“I’m fine with whatever state you’re in”

This might look like a normal sentence until you watch the season.

“With Whatever State you’re in!!!”

CAN YOU IMAGINE?

I cried so bad. I mean, this is the definition of LOVE.

Why don't we try to be like this girl….?

Trust me, we can be better!

We can.

And soon,

It will all return to us.

It will.

What is the definition of LOVE for you? What does LOVE mean to you?

Love is never having to say sorry. If you want love in this world - get a dog. They love with all their hearts, forgive you for everything you do, and do not judge. They just want to be with you.

  • I'll start by answering your questions at the bottom. To me, love is retarded. That's my definition of love. It makes a complete fool of us and in the end, turns is into retards. As for what you said, that we have to practice what we expect from others, we have to show them the love we want from them, make them feel as loved as we want to be. My reply to that is in my poem Exsanguinate. In case you haven't read that, I'll provide the link in the comment below Have you read Harry Potter? Because that scene from Happiness reminded me of what Fleur said when Bill was attacked by Fenrir, "What do I care how 'e looks? I am good-looking enough for both of us, I theenk!"

This is a beautiful piece, Maryam. I've never experienced love. Doubt I ever will. But I do enjoy writing it into stories: having the characters grow with each other, share in each others pain, until they realise they need each other. I guess that's what I think love is - sharing key moments in your life with the one you plan to spend it with. But I'm sure there's lot more to it than that.
