CHAPTER 1: A World Apart

Kim Tan sits on the balcony of his family’s mansion, gazing out into the horizon that reflects the luxurious life he has lived so far. The setting sun in the west seems to symbolize a rare serenity in his life filled with tension and responsibility. To him, a world filled with jewels, exclusive parties, and recognition is ordinary—even boring. However, beneath all the glitter, Tan feels an emptiness within him that he cannot fill with any luxury. Despite living in a respected and revered family, Kim Tan always feels as if he is just a pawn in a bigger game that he never fully understands.

She grew up with immense wealth, but at a high price: her freedom. Her family, the owners of Jeguk Group, one of the largest conglomerates in South Korea, had complete control over her every move. Since childhood, Tan had been accustomed to an elite education, friendships with aristocrats, and strict rules that left no room for rebellion. Her family taught her that status was everything, and love was merely something that could be negotiated for greater gain. To her, everything she had, including the friends around her, felt like a charade.

Although he seemed to have it all—money, power, and honor—Tan knew that there was a part of him that always felt alienated. In a big, luxurious house, he grew up feeling cold, without the warmth of a real family. His mother, who was not his father's legal wife, lived in shadow and shame. Tan's relationship with his older brother, Kim Won, the heir to the company, was also very cold and full of distrust. Kim Won always saw Tan as a threat—a younger sibling who, though born from a different mother, still shared the same family blood and might one day take the inheritance from his hands.

On the other hand, far from that luxurious life, Cha Eun-sang lives her days in silence and uncertainty. Every morning, she wakes up earlier than anyone else in her house, preparing everything before she goes to her part-time job. Her mother, who is mute, works as a maid in a wealthy family's house, cleaning every corner of a large house that is not even hers. Eun-sang's life is difficult, but she never complains. For her, this is a reality that she must face with her head held high.

Eun-sang is used to a life of limitations. Her small and cramped house is just one of the many symbols of the social gap that is evident in front of her. Every time she sees the towering skyscrapers in the big city, she realizes how big the gap is between her and the people who live in those buildings. However, she never lets it break her spirit. Eun-sang is a tough and determined girl. She works hard not only for herself, but for her mother who has raised her with extraordinary sacrifices.

Despite her life being far from luxurious, Eun-sang still tries to find happiness in the little things. Her mother’s smile when they have dinner together, even with a simple meal, gives her a warmth that is far more valuable than material luxuries. She always believes that one day, with hard work and perseverance, she can change her fate. But Eun-sang is also realistic—she knows that the world is not always fair, especially to those born on the wrong side of the wealth line.

On certain days, Eun-sang goes to campus to study, even though her tuition fees are often in arrears. On campus, she is surrounded by friends who come from more fortunate backgrounds than her. They talk about overseas vacations, expensive clothes, and bright future plans—things that sound like dreams to Eun-sang. However, she never feels jealous. Instead, she looks to the future realistically, trying to create her own path in this unfriendly world.

While Eun-sang lives her simple life, Kim Tan is always surrounded by people talking about business, politics, and wealth. At his family's dinner table, every conversation is always related to business affairs or matchmaking between wealthy families. Kim Tan never feels like there is room to talk about things that really matter to him, like his feelings, his dreams, or even love. Every conversation he has at home always feels stilted, as if they are all actors in a staged show.

Tan's relationship with his father is also far from harmonious. His father, a powerful man who always prioritizes business above all else, sees Tan as a tool to expand the family business empire. To him, Tan is nothing more than a successor who must be groomed to take over the company one day. Of course, Kim Won, Tan's older brother, is more experienced and more respected in this regard. However, Tan's position as the son of an illegitimate wife makes him a pawn in a more complicated power struggle.

When Tan was in America, he had a rare taste of freedom—a chance to get away from the pressures of his family and responsibilities. But even in a faraway land, he still felt empty. Every time he tried to forget his life in Korea, reality would haunt him. No matter how far he traveled, he was still Kim Tan, heir to a vast business empire. The burden of his family name followed him wherever he went, and he knew that one day, he would have to return and face the destiny that had been determined for him.

In America, Tan tries to live a more normal life. He walks the streets without anyone recognizing him, enjoying simple freedoms like eating at a regular restaurant without the media spotlight. But even though he’s far from home, the feeling of loneliness never really goes away. Even amidst the freedom he seeks, Tan feels an invisible gulf between himself and the people around him. He knows that he’s not truly free—he’s just a visitor in this world, waiting to return to the life he was born to have.

Meanwhile, in Korea, Eun-sang lives her days focused on one thing: surviving. Every day is a struggle, but she gets through it with determination and the belief that life will get better someday. Although she often feels burdened by the enormous responsibility she has at such a young age, she still keeps hope in her heart. She dreams of a better world, where she doesn’t have to worry about money or status, but can live by her own means.

Their worlds are very different. On one hand, Kim Tan lives in a world filled with luxury, but is shackled by responsibilities and expectations that he never chose. On the other hand, Eun-sang lives in limitations, but with a high fighting spirit to achieve happiness. These two worlds seem like two lines that will never intersect—the world of the rich and the world of the humble, separated by a thick wall called social status.

However, fate always has its own way. As if this world wasn't complicated enough, the meeting between Kim Tan and Eun-sang is about to change everything. What seems like two lives far apart are in fact separated by a thin thread that is ready to be brought together by a force greater than themselves. What will happen when these two different worlds collide? Can love survive amidst such vast differences?

Their journey has just begun.

CHAPTER 2: The Meeting That Changed Fate

When Kim Tan’s plane lands in Los Angeles, his feelings are mixed. He has flown far from his home in Korea, as if to escape the fate that awaits him. But the relief he had hoped for never comes. Even though he is far from his family, full of intrigue and ambition, Tan still feels trapped in an invisible trap—the trap of expectations and social status that he has held all his life.

Kim Tan stepped out of the airport, feeling the warm breeze of America, different from the cold and formal wind of Seoul. The sun was shining brightly, giving him the sense of freedom he had dreamed of. However, despite the pleasant initial impression, Tan knew that living in America would not necessarily free him from the burdens of his past.

With a backpack on his back, he walked towards the apartment his family had rented—a luxury apartment in an elite area. Tan took a deep breath as he entered the building, feeling how quiet and empty the place was. Nothing had really changed. Despite being on a different continent, the emptiness inside him remained the same.

Tan's days in America were monotonous. He woke up in the morning, went to class, then returned to the apartment. On campus, he was just a shadow. Despite his handsome and charismatic face, Tan never tried to attract attention. He preferred to sink into silence, letting his thoughts drift far away to home, thinking about his family that was always full of disputes and uncertainties.

One day, in the midst of his boring routine, Tan's life changes drastically. An unexpected meeting with a girl named Cha Eun-sang becomes the beginning of a big change in his life.

That day, Tan was walking home from campus when he saw a confused Asian girl on the side of the road. The girl was dressed simply, unlike most of the wealthy Asians that Tan had encountered in America. Her face showed fatigue and frustration, as if she had faced a lot of problems in the past few hours. Tan couldn't help but notice the girl.

“Do you need help?” Tan asked in Korean, approaching the girl with cautious steps. The girl, who was none other than Cha Eun-sang, was surprised to hear someone speaking in a language she understood. She turned her head, and for a moment, their eyes met. Eun-sang hesitated, but then nodded slowly.

"I... I'm looking for my brother," she answered in a trembling voice. "He lives here in Los Angeles. I came from Korea to see him, but now... I can't find him."

Tan frowned. On one hand, he felt sympathy for the girl. But on the other hand, he knew all too well how hard life in America was, especially for someone who came unprepared. "Do you know where she lives?" Tan asked, trying to be as helpful as he could.

Eun-sang shook her head sadly. "She told me she lived in a fancy place, working as a model. But now, I don't even know where to look."

Tan nodded. There was something about this girl that made him want to help. Even though his own life was full of problems, he felt compelled to do something. "Come on, I'll help you search," he said finally. "We can start with the places where Asians usually go here."

Eun-sang looked at him in surprise, not expecting anyone to help her so selflessly. “Thank you,” she said softly, almost in disbelief. In an instant, she felt the weight on her shoulders lighten a little. Tan took her around the city, visiting places her brother might have frequented. Although they didn’t find her brother that day, Eun-sang felt that Tan’s presence brought some comfort to her confusion.

Throughout the day, they began to talk about their respective lives. Tan talked about his formal and stressful life in Korea, though he didn't specifically mention who he was. On the other hand, Eun-sang talked about how difficult it was to live in Korea as the daughter of a maid, and how she came to America in hopes of finding a better life with her brother.

Tan feels connected to Eun-sang in a way he has never felt with anyone else. Even though they come from very different backgrounds, Tan feels that Eun-sang understands a side of him that he cannot share with those around him. There is a similarity in the loneliness and struggles they face, even if the reasons behind them are different.

In the following days, Tan and Eun-sang meet more often. Tan, who usually avoids social interaction, finds comfort in conversations with Eun-sang. She brings him a warmth he has never found in a cold world full of family intrigue. Meanwhile, Eun-sang feels relieved that there is someone who is willing to listen to her complaints, especially in a foreign land that feels so big and scary.

However, this situation did not last long. After several days of searching, Eun-sang finally found her brother. It turned out that her brother did not live in a luxurious place like he had said. Instead, he lived in conditions not much different from those in Korea—just struggling to survive. Her brother, who worked as a waiter at a restaurant, was embarrassed and eventually kicked Eun-sang out, refusing to acknowledge the harsh reality they had to face.

Devastated by her own brother's rejection, Eun-sang returns to Tan with tears streaming down her face. "I shouldn't have come here," she says in a trembling voice. "My brother didn't want me. I was just wasting my time and money."

Tan looked at the girl sympathetically. He didn't know what to say. For the first time in his life, he felt like someone's problems really mattered to him. "Eun-sang, this isn't your fault," Tan said softly. "You just want what's best for your family. Sometimes, other people can't see that."

Eun-sang nodded slowly, though tears were still streaming down her cheeks. "I don't know what to do now. I don't have any money to go back to Korea. I don't even have a place to stay here."

Tan paused for a moment, thinking. Even though he knew this would lead to complications, he couldn’t just leave Eun-sang stranded. “You can stay with me for a while,” he said suddenly. “I have a big apartment, and you can stay there until you’re ready to come back to Korea.”

Eun-sang stared at Tan with wide eyes, in disbelief at his offer. "No way. I can't accept that. We don't even know each other that well."

However, Tan insisted. "I won't let you sleep on the street. Besides, you need a place to rest and think clearly. This is only temporary."

After a few seconds of silence, Eun-sang finally agrees, though still feeling awkward about the situation. With mixed feelings, she accepts Tan's offer, not realizing that this decision will lead them to a deeper and more complicated relationship.

They stay at Tan's apartment for a few days. During that time, Tan gets to know Eun-sang better. He is impressed by the girl's determination, who despite coming from a difficult background, still has the determination to live life with her head held high. Eun-sang also begins to see another side of Tan—a gentle and caring side, far from the cold image that others might see from the outside.

However, their time together did not last long. When news of Tan's presence in America reached his family, his father immediately ordered Tan to return to Korea. "Your time playing around is over, Tan," his father said over the phone. "You have to go back and face your responsibilities."

Tan felt trapped again. On the one hand, he wanted to stay in America, away from the pressures of family and the world full of demands. But on the other hand, he knew that sooner or later, he would have to face the fate that awaited him in Korea. Moreover, he now had another reason to return—Eun-sang. She had entered his life by accident, but now Tan felt that he could no longer ignore his feelings for her.

When the day of his departure arrives, Tan stands in front of his apartment door, looking at Eun-sang with an expression that is hard to decipher. "I have to go back to Korea," he says quietly. "But I want you to come with me."

Eun-sang is surprised by the offer. "Why should I come with you? My life is complicated enough without having to get involved in other people's business."

However, Tan looked at her seriously. "I can't leave you here alone. And to be honest, I don't want to be separated from you."

This unexpected meeting has changed the destiny of both of them.

CHAPTER 3: Back to Korea

The Korean sky was overcast as the plane carrying Kim Tan and Cha Eun-sang landed at Incheon International Airport. Outside the window, Seoul’s skyscrapers looked like towering concrete towers, as if watching their every move. South Korea greeted them back with a chill, not just from the cooler temperature compared to Los Angeles, but also from the weight that immediately felt pressing down on them as soon as their feet touched the ground.

Kim Tan took a deep breath. Coming back to Korea had never been this difficult for him. This time, he brought not only his tired body and mind, but also mixed feelings about his life in America and what awaited him back home. Behind him, Eun-sang walked slowly with a confused look on her face. She knew that it was a big and risky decision to come with Tan, but at the same time, she felt like she had no other choice. In America, her life had been full of uncertainty, and coming back to Korea gave her hope for a fresh start, even though she had no idea what would happen next.

“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Eun-sang asked in a low voice, breaking the silence between them. Her eyes met Tan’s hesitantly. Even though Tan had helped her so much in America, she still felt awkward and uncomfortable being in a world so far removed from her simple life.

Tan turned his head and smiled faintly. “I know it’s hard, but I promise I’ll help you out here. Don’t worry. Besides, I can’t just ignore you after everything that happened in America.”

The guilt that continues to haunt Tan makes him increasingly attached to Eun-sang. Although he tries to hide it, the truth is that he feels responsible for this girl's fate. However, the feelings that grow inside him are far more complicated than just a sense of responsibility. Behind it all, there is something deeper—something that he himself may not yet fully understand.

After collecting their luggage, Tan leads Eun-sang out of the terminal. At the exit, a driver is waiting with a luxury black car, ready to take them to the Kim family mansion. Eun-sang stares at the car in disbelief. Although she has seen plenty of luxury in America, being in Korea, amidst the Tan family’s obvious luxury, makes everything feel more real and more frightening.

“This is… your car?” Eun-sang asked, staring at Tan in shock. She didn’t really understand Tan’s true background, even though she knew that he came from a wealthy family.

Tan smiled faintly. “Yes. Sorry if I haven’t told you all about me. But, now you will see for yourself.”

The car drove smoothly through the busy streets of Seoul. The tall buildings gleaming in the afternoon sun further emphasized the contrast between Eun-sang's life and the world she was now in. She felt as if she were trapped in a beautiful nightmare, where she didn't know what was going to happen next, but couldn't escape it.

Throughout the journey, Tan did not say much. His mind wandered to what he would face once he arrived home. Returning to the Kim family home meant facing all the pressures and demands he had tried to avoid. His father, Kim Nam-yoon, was an authoritarian figure who always demanded perfection from his children. His older brother, Kim Won, was the biggest threat in Tan's life. Although they were siblings, their relationship was far from warm. Kim Won always saw Tan as a competitor, not as a younger brother.

When the car finally stopped in front of the grand gate of the Kim family mansion, Eun-sang swallowed hard. She never imagined that one day she would be standing in front of a house this big. The mansion towered high with modern architecture that exuded wealth and power. The spacious garden in front of the house was decorated with neatly maintained plants, indicating that every corner of this place was carefully thought out.

“Is this your house?” Eun-sang asked, this time in a softer tone, as if afraid her voice would disturb the tranquility around them.

Tan nodded. “Yes. Welcome to my home.”

Tan got out of the car and opened the door for Eun-sang. However, before they could go any further, a well-dressed middle-aged man walked up to him. It was Lee Sung-hee, the butler of the Kim family, who had served the family for many years. His face was serious, as usual, but there was a hint of awkwardness when he saw Eun-sang next to Tan.

“Young Master, your father is waiting in the living room,” Sung-hee said in a calm but firm tone.

Tan nodded without saying anything. He knew that this meeting would be one of the most difficult moments in his life. With heavy steps, he took Eun-sang's hand, gesturing for her to follow him into the house.

They walked through the main hall filled with expensive antiques and artwork. Eun-sang could barely concentrate on her own steps. Everything felt so foreign and unreal to her. Every corner of the house exuded a luxury she had never dreamed of. But beneath it all, she felt a chill. The house may be big and beautiful, but there was no warmth in it.

In the living room, Kim Nam-yoon sat gracefully on a large chair. His dignified figure immediately caught the attention of anyone who saw him. Next to him stood Kim Won, Tan's older brother, who looked at his younger brother with a cold and indifferent gaze.

“Tan,” his father’s voice was low but full of authority. “You’re finally back. I’ve been waiting.”

Tan nodded slowly, trying to hold back the nervousness that was starting to creep up on him. He knew that this would be more than just a family reunion. There was something bigger at stake.

“Yes, I’m back,” Tan replied cautiously. “I’ve thought things through, and I’m ready to face my responsibilities here.”

His father looked at him with an unreadable gaze. “Good. I hope you’ve had enough of playing around abroad. Now, it’s time to get back to reality and focus on the future of this family.”

However, before the conversation could go any further, Kim Nam-yoon's eyes turned to Eun-sang, who was standing behind Tan. His face turned slightly stiff, as if he was not happy to see the girl in his house.

“Who is he?” Tan’s father asked in a flat tone, but one that clearly contained disapproval.

Tan swallowed. This was the moment he had been worried about. He knew that bringing Eun-sang to this house would cause trouble. However, he couldn't just leave her alone either.

“She’s… my friend,” Tan answered quietly, trying to keep his tone calm. “Her name is Cha Eun-sang. I brought her because she needed help.”

His father’s face hardened. “Friends? In our world, Tan, there are no such things as friends. People like him can’t enter this family. You should know that.”

Tan felt anger slowly boiling inside him. For years, he had been governed by rules that he had never chosen. This time, he had had enough. “Dad, Eun-sang is my guest. I brought her here, and I will take responsibility for her.”

Kim Won, who had been silent, finally opened his mouth. “Tan, this is not a matter of responsibility. You know the rules in this family. We can’t just bring outsiders into our lives.”

Tan stared at his brother with a sharp gaze. “This isn’t just about family rules, Won. This is about humanity.”

But before things could get any more heated, Eun-sang spoke up. “I’m sorry,” she said in a low but firm voice. “I didn’t mean to cause any trouble. I’ll go now.”

Eun-sang turned around, ready to leave the house with mixed feelings. But Tan immediately grabbed her hand, stopping her from leaving. “No, Eun-sang. You don’t have to go. You’re here because I invited you.”

The atmosphere in the room grew tense. Kim Nam-yoon looked at Tan with disappointment clearly written on his face. “You should know better, Tan. This family has rules. And I hope you don’t break them again.”

With those words, the atmosphere in the room became colder than before. Eun-sang could feel the sharp gazes of everyone there, but she also felt a courage slowly growing inside her. This world was not her world, but she knew that she would not back down so easily.

After Kim Nam-yoon finished speaking, the spacious and luxurious living room seemed to freeze in silence. Eun-sang stood awkwardly beside Tan, feeling caught between a world she didn't understand and a complicated family relationship. She felt like a stranger who had accidentally entered the vortex of this big family conflict. Sometimes, a person's existence can feel so small in the midst of such great power and wealth. That's how she felt right now.

Kim Tan looked at his father with a determined gaze. Even though he didn’t like the atmosphere in this house, he knew that he had to face this reality. He could no longer escape his responsibilities as a member of the Kim family, and especially as the son of a very powerful tycoon. However, for the first time in his life, he felt the need to fight for something he truly cared about—Eun-sang.

“Dad,” Tan began in a low, but firm voice. “I know the rules of this family, and I know what is expected of me. But I cannot ignore people who need help, regardless of who they are or their background.”

Kim Nam-yoon stared at Tan coldly, clearly unimpressed by his son's words. "This isn't about pity, Tan. This is about how we live our lives in our position. People outside will never understand what we're going through, and they're not part of our lives. If you want to stay in this family, you have to know how to choose who's worthy of being around you."

Those words hurt Tan, even though he had heard them many times since he was a child. His father’s world was one ruled by power, authority, and money. Everything was measured by status and profit, and there was no room for things like feelings or caring about others. However, this time, Tan was not going to give in to those rules. Eun-sang was someone he cared about, and he was not going to let his family trample on innocent people just because they were not part of the wealthy class.

Eun-sang, who was listening to the conversation, began to feel uncomfortable. Although she was grateful to Tan for defending her, she did not want to be the cause of a rift in this family. She had suffered enough in her own life, and she did not want to bring more trouble into Tan's life. However, before she could say anything, Kim Won, Tan's older brother, interrupted her sarcastically.

“You always have a way of bringing trouble into this house, Tan. I don’t know what you’re thinking, but dad is right. People like him have no place here. Have you forgotten who we are? This isn’t about helping or not helping. This is about preserving the family’s reputation.”

Tan looked at his brother sharply. Kim Won had always been a thorn in his side. Even though they were brothers, their relationship was filled with tension and rivalry that they could never get rid of. To Won, Tan was nothing but a burden that always threatened his position as the heir of the Kim family. Tan's every move was considered a threat, and Won never hesitated to remind him of it.

“I haven’t forgotten who we are, sis. But maybe I don’t want to be like you—always busy maintaining image and power, to the point of forgetting what it means to be human,” Tan said, his tone becoming more assertive.

Won smirked, but didn't respond. To him, Tan was too naive a child to understand how harsh the world of business and power was. However, Won knew better than to argue about it in front of their father.

Meanwhile, Eun-sang felt increasingly uneasy. The atmosphere in the house was cold and unfriendly, far from what she had imagined “home” to be. The house was large and grand, but inside it felt empty, filled with a suffocating tension. She took small steps forward, trying to control her voice despite the fear that was gnawing at her heart.

“Mr. Kim,” she said softly, breaking the silence. “I don’t want to cause any trouble. I can leave. I am very grateful for Tan’s kindness while in America, but I don’t want to be a burden to anyone.”

Tan immediately turned to Eun-sang, his face showing disapproval. “Eun-sang, you don’t have to go. This isn’t about you. This is about how this family views the world. Don’t let them make you feel small.”

However, before Eun-sang could respond, Tan’s father spoke again. “That child is right. You really don’t belong here. Kim Tan, if you think bringing someone from the lower class into this house is a good idea, then you are not mature enough to understand the responsibility you are carrying.”

Tan felt anger begin to boil inside him. His father’s words were always sharp, and he had heard them too many times. But this time it felt different. This wasn’t just about him anymore—it was about an innocent person being treated so unfairly.

"It's not about being mature or immature, father," replied Tan, his voice starting to rise. “It's about respecting other people, regardless of who they are. Our world does not only consist of rich and powerful people. There are many people out there fighting for their lives, and they deserve the same respect as we do.”

His father snorted, as if Tan’s statement was not worth hearing. “You’ve always been too idealistic, Tan. This world is not as fair as you think. If you want to stay at the top, you have to know how to separate yourself from the unworthy.”

Tan looked at his father with deep disappointment. All this time, he had tried to live up to his father's expectations, even though he knew that he could never fully reach his standards. However, the more he tried, the more he felt trapped in a world he did not want to be in.

Eun-sang is deeply touched by Tan's defense, but at the same time, she feels guilty. She doesn't want to be the reason Tan has to fight with his family. Tan's world and hers are so different, and the longer she stays here, the more she realizes that she might never fit in.

Finally, Eun-sang decided to speak again. “Tan, thank you. But I don’t think this is my place. You’ve done so much for me, and I don’t want to see you in a situation like this because of me.”

Tan looked at Eun-sang with a struggling expression. He knew she was right—their worlds were different. But there was something about Eun-sang that made him want to fight for this relationship, even though it seemed impossible. But before he could answer, his father stood up and ended the conversation.

“That’s enough,” Kim Nam-yoon said firmly. “If you want to stay under this roof, Tan, you have to decide now. Do you want to stay part of this family, or do you want to choose your own path?”

The decision hung in the air, heavy and oppressive. Tan knew his father was serious. This was no empty threat—it was an ultimatum. If he chose to fight, he might have to give up everything. His wealth, his power, and his future as heir to the Kim family would be gone. But if he gave in, he knew he would lose something even more important—himself.

Eun-sang looks at Tan with worry, knowing that this decision will not be easy. But behind her doubts, there is a growing respect for Tan. She can see that this man is at a very important crossroads in his life.

Tan stood still, his mind racing. The decision he made tonight would determine the rest of his life. And for the first time, he felt that he had to choose what was right for himself, not for others.

After a few moments of silence, Tan lifted his head and looked at his father with a determined gaze. “I will make my decision,” he said in a calm but firm voice. “But it will not be made tonight.”

With those words, Tan took Eun-sang's hand and turned, leaving the living room filled with tension. He knew that there was a lot to think about, and that tonight was just the beginning of a long and challenging journey.

Chapter 5: Sacrifice and Social Pressure

The days after the tense meeting at the Kim family home feel like walking on hot coals for Kim Tan and Cha Eun-sang. The big decision hanging in the air, the promise Tan made to himself to choose his path, and the social reality that continues to lurk like a shadow, all weigh on them. Although the two try to live their daily lives normally, neither can ignore the growing tension between them and their surroundings.

At school, the social pressure that Eun-sang had already felt was now even stronger. Jeguk High School was not just a place for rich students to study; it was an arena where social status, wealth, and power were displayed very prominently. Eun-sang, who entered the school on a scholarship and came from a poor family background, felt even more isolated. The presence of Kim Tan beside her only added to the spotlight on her, making everything she did more easily criticized by her rich friends.

As Tan and Eun-sang walk through the school hallways, they can feel the glares of the other students. The whispers about their relationship never stop. Even though they try to keep their cool, every step feels heavy, as if they are walking through a landslide of social mines.

“You know, right, that we can’t stay like this forever?” Eun-sang said one afternoon as they walked home from school together. Her voice was soft but full of worry. She knew that living in the shadow of such a different social status would not be easy.

Tan turned to her, his brows furrowed slightly. “What do you mean?”

Eun-sang took a deep breath. “Our worlds are completely different, Tan. Look around us. People at school are constantly judging, and your family… your family is against this relationship. I don’t want you to have to choose between your family and me. I don’t want you to lose everything you have just because of me.”

Tan stopped walking and turned around, looking at Eun-sang with a serious expression. “I told you, this isn’t about my family. This is about me. This is about what I want to fight for. And I want to fight for you, Eun-sang.”

But behind those words, Eun-sang can’t ignore the fact that Tan’s world is so far from the one she knows. Kim Tan is the heir to a huge fortune, someone who has it all—power, money, and status. Meanwhile, Eun-sang is just an ordinary girl from a humble family who works hard to survive. No matter how hard Tan tries to protect her, there are social realities that can’t be ignored.

The next day, things get worse at school. Their classmates, especially the students from wealthy families, start to show more and more open attitudes towards Eun-sang. One of them is Rachel Yoo, Tan's fiancée. Although Tan and Rachel's relationship has long been strained, Rachel still feels she has the right to decide Tan's fate, especially since their marriage is part of a business agreement arranged by their families.

In the school cafeteria, Rachel approaches Eun-sang with a faint smile on her face, but behind that smile, there is a clear cold aura. “You’re really brave, aren’t you, Cha Eun-sang?” she says, crossing her arms over her chest.

Eun-sang, who was sitting alone, felt her heart pounding. She had heard rumors that Rachel would be coming to see her soon, but she didn't expect it to happen this soon.

“What do you mean?” Eun-sang asked carefully, trying to remain calm.

Rachel took a deep breath, as if feeling sorry for the girl in front of her. “You think you can just steal Kim Tan from me? Do you think you have a chance in the world?” she said in a mocking tone.

Eun-sang lowered her head. She had been prepared for this kind of pressure, but hearing the words in person made it all feel so much more real and painful. Even though she never meant to take anything away from Rachel, the truth was that she and Tan did have a connection that could not be denied.

“You know, Eun-sang,” Rachel continued in a condescending tone, “someone like you should know where you belong. This world wasn’t made for people like us and people like you to coexist. So, you better stop dreaming and come back to reality.”

Hearing Rachel's words made Eun-sang's heart feel even more squeezed. She knew that behind every taunt and insult, there was a truth that was hard to ignore. Rachel's world, Tan's world, was indeed not her world. However, Eun-sang also knew that the feelings she had for Tan were real, and Tan had done a lot to show that he was sincere. But was that enough to go against an entire system that had been built on wealth and power?

“Listen, Rachel,” Eun-sang finally says, her voice firmer than she expected. “I don’t want to fight with you. I never meant to steal Tan or take anything from you. But I can’t control my feelings either. If you really care about Tan, maybe you should talk to him, not me.”

Rachel narrowed her eyes, seemingly shocked by Eun-sang’s audacity. “How dare you say that to me?” she said coldly. “Do you think Tan will still choose you after he realizes all he’s about to lose? You’re just an illusion to him. Soon, he’ll realize.”

With those last words, Rachel turned and left Eun-sang, leaving her in a mixture of fear and pain.

On the other hand, Kim Tan also faces pressure that is no less severe. His family, especially his father, constantly pressures him to break up with Eun-sang. His father has already planned Tan's future—a future in which Tan will take over the family company and marry someone of equal status and wealth, namely Rachel. Every step Tan takes away from that plan is seen as a threat to the stability of the Kim family.

At home, things are getting more and more tense. Every time Tan returns, he is always faced with a heated argument with his father or a cold sarcasm from his older brother, Kim Won. His older brother never misses an opportunity to remind Tan of how stupid his decision was.

“So, you still insist on being with that girl?” Kim Won asked one night as they sat in the dining room together.

Tan just stared at him expressionlessly. “I’ve made my choice, Won.”

Kim Won snorted. “Do you really think you can change this world with your ridiculous idealism? Father will never accept that girl, and you know it. You will only destroy yourself.”

Tan remained silent, not wanting to get caught up in the word games that his brother usually won. However, Kim Won's words dug deeper into his heart. He knew that his brother was probably right—the world wouldn't change just because he wanted it to. But on the other hand, Tan also felt that he had to fight for what he believed was right, even if it meant losing everything.

The tension came to a head one night when Kim Nam-yoon called Tan into his private study. There, behind a large wooden desk adorned with books and business documents, Kim Nam-yoon stared at his son with a dignified gaze. In the quiet room, the only sound that could be heard was the ticking of the wall clock, counting down the time with increasing tension.

“Tan,” his father said in a calm but powerful tone. “I have given you time to think. But now, it is time for you to make a decision.”

Tan looked at his father, feeling like a child again who was being reprimanded for doing something wrong. However, this time, he could not give in so easily. “What decision do you want from me, father?” he asked, even though he already knew the answer.

“Break off your relationship with Cha Eun-sang,” his father replied without hesitation. “She’s not right for you, and you know it. The future of this family cannot be tainted by a foolish decision based on momentary emotion.”

Tan felt his chest burn at his father's words. "He's not just a momentary emotion, Dad. I really care about him."

His father shook his head. “You may think so now. But that feeling will fade with time. What will not fade is your responsibility to this family, and to your own future.”

Under such great pressure, Tan felt himself being squeezed. But, deep down, he knew that he could not give up so easily. Even though the world around him was rejecting this relationship, he felt that there was something far more valuable that he was fighting for—something that could not be measured in wealth or status.

“I will make my own decision, Dad,” Tan finally replied, his voice filled with a determination he had only recently discovered within himself.

And with that, Kim Tan left his father's office, knowing that his decision was

Chapter 6: Love Amidst Limitations

After the confrontation with his father, Kim Tan felt like he had crossed a line of no return. Deep down, he knew that his decision to stay with Cha Eun-sang was a big step that would likely change his entire life. But, despite the uncertainty, he felt more certain than ever. He chose love, even if it meant going against his family, his social status, and even the future that had been planned for him since he was born.

For Eun-sang, the burden she feels grows heavier day by day. Pressure from classmates, the sharp gazes of those around her, and the feeling that she is always the center of attention make every step difficult. However, what weighs most heavily is her realization that their relationship, although full of love, is under the shadow of a world that has never blessed them. Every happy moment she spends with Tan is always accompanied by fear of what will come next.

One day, after school, Tan and Eun-sang decide to go somewhere far away from the hustle and bustle of school and the city. They choose a beach located outside of Seoul, a quiet and secluded place where they can forget about all the pressures that surround them for a moment. The fresh sea breeze, the sound of gentle waves, and the vast sky provide them with a temporary escape from the world that continues to chase them.

They sat on the sand, watching the sun slowly set on the horizon. The orange and red colors stretching across the sky created a calm yet melancholic beauty.

“Eun-sang,” Tan began, his voice soft but serious. “I know this is hard for you. It’s hard for me, too. Every day feels like a battle, and I don’t want you to suffer because of me.”

Eun-sang took a deep breath, feeling that Tan’s words reflected her own feelings. “This isn’t your fault, Tan. I also chose to stay with you. But I can’t lie to myself, it’s not easy. Our worlds are different, and I don’t know how long I can last.”

Tan turned to her, his gaze filled with concern. “I want you to know, no matter how hard it is, I will always be by your side. I have made my decision to choose you, and I will not change my mind.”

Eun-sang smiled thinly, though her eyes showed weariness. “But you can’t change the fact that your family is against us, and this world… this world doesn’t care about our love.”

Tan lowers his head for a moment, contemplating Eun-sang’s words. “Maybe the world doesn’t care, but we can care for each other. I know this sounds cliche, but our love is the only thing that’s real to me right now. Everything else is just a construct—money, power, status. They’re all just games played by the people around me. But my feelings for you? They’re the most real thing I’ve ever felt.”

Eun-sang looks at him with mixed feelings. She can feel the sincerity behind Tan's words, but the reality beyond those words cannot be ignored. The Kims are no ordinary family. They are one of the most powerful families in Korea, and Tan's relationship with Eun-sang is seen as a threat to the stability of their family, their business, and their reputation. After all, living in the shadow of a world of power and wealth makes love a fragile thing.

Back in Seoul, the situation is getting more complicated. Tan's father, Kim Nam-yoon, has not kept quiet after his last meeting with Tan. He has prepared another strategy to ensure that the relationship between Tan and Eun-sang ends soon. He knows that there is nothing stronger than social and material pressure in a society where status and wealth are everything.

One afternoon, when Eun-sang had just come home from school, she found her mother, Hee-nam, sitting in the living room with an unusual expression. In front of them was a man in formal clothes whom Eun-sang did not recognize. When the man introduced himself as the lawyer of the Kim family, Eun-sang's heart skipped a beat. She knew that something serious was going on.

“Cha Eun-sang,” the man began formally. “I am here on behalf of the Kim family, and I come with an offer that could change your life and your family’s.”

Eun-sang felt her body stiffen, but she tried to stay calm. “What offer?”

The lawyer took out a document from his briefcase and placed it on the table in front of them. “The Kim family is willing to provide a substantial amount of compensation for you and your mother, on the condition that you sever all ties with Kim Tan and never have any contact with him again.”

The words echoed in Eun-sang’s head. The offer to break up with Tan in exchange for a large sum of money was not something she had expected, even though she knew Tan’s family would not stay silent. However, hearing it in person was still a shock. On one hand, it was a chance to free herself and her mother from the poverty that had haunted them for years. But on the other, it was a betrayal of the feelings she had built with Tan.

Hee-nam, who can't speak, hints to Eun-sang to refuse. He knows how important Tan's relationship is to his daughter, and while the offer is materially tempting, he doesn't want Eun-sang to sell her love and happiness for money.

However, Eun-sang's mind is filled with a dilemma. She knows that their relationship faces many obstacles, and that the love between them is always under threat from the world outside. If she accepts this offer, she and her mother can live a better life, without having to constantly struggle with poverty. But if she accepts it, she will also lose Tan, the only person who makes her feel that she is worthy of love even though she comes from a different world.

“I can’t accept this,” Eun-sang finally said, her voice firm despite her turmoil. “I won’t break up with Tan just because of money.”

The lawyer stared at her for a moment, then nodded calmly. “I understand, but this offer will remain on the table in case you change your mind.” With that, the man left, leaving Eun-sang and her mother in tense silence.

Meanwhile, Tan is unaware that his family has taken steps to separate him from Eun-sang. He remains focused on protecting their relationship, despite the increasing pressure from his family. He knows that their time together may not be much, and every moment they do spend together feels more precious.

At school, rumors about Tan and Eun-sang's relationship spread. Tan's friends, especially Choi Young-do, see this as an opportunity to tease Tan. Young-do, who also comes from a wealthy and influential family, uses this situation to provoke Tan.

“So, you really did fall for that poor girl, huh?” Young-do said with a sneer. “I don’t understand what you see in her. She clearly doesn’t belong in our world.”

Tan stared at Young-do with a sharp gaze. “You don’t know anything about her, Young-do. Love isn’t about status or money. You’ll probably never understand that.”

Young-do chuckled. “Maybe you’re right. But you have to be realistic, Tan. This world isn’t made for people like us to love someone from a different world.”

Tan knows that Young-do, despite his cynical tone, is actually reflecting the harsh reality they must face. Their love is indeed tested by the differences in the world they live in. But Tan is not willing to give up so easily. Amidst all the limitations, he still believes that their love can survive.

But in the back of his mind, he also knew that time was running out. The world around them was pressing in, and there was no guarantee that their love could last forever amidst the approaching storm.

Chapter 7: Fate and Legacy

Finally, the dreaded moment has arrived. After months of fighting against the currents that have been blocking their relationship, Tan and Eun-sang are faced with a choice that is harder than ever. They both feel trapped in a game they don't want to be in, and it's time to make a big decision that will change their destiny forever.

One afternoon, when Tan visited Eun-sang's house, he found her sitting on the porch. Her face looked gloomy, and Tan could sense that something was bothering her. Tan sat down next to her, trying to find a way to start a conversation.

“What’s wrong, Eun-sang?” he asked softly, reaching out to take her hand. “You look really worried.”

Eun-sang took a deep breath before answering. “I just talked to my mom. She said that we should consider the offer more seriously. We can have a better life, Tan. We won’t suffer like before.”

Tan was silent, his heart trembled at Eun-sang's words. He knows very well how hard life is lived by Eun-sang and her mother. However, the offer felt like a betrayal of their feelings.

“But that means we have to part ways,” Tan said, his voice starting to shake. “I can’t imagine life without you. Our love is worth more than money or a better life.”

Eun-sang lowered her head, tears welling up in her eyes. “I know, Tan. But what if we don’t have a choice? What if we can’t fight this world? Not everyone can survive all this pressure. And I don’t want you to lose everything you’ve built just because of me.”

Tan felt his heart break at those words. He knew that Eun-sang was speaking from the heart. “Don’t say that. We can face everything together. We’ve been through so much. I won’t let you go.”

Eun-sang bit her lip, trying to hold back her tears. “But it’s not fair, Tan. My love for you will never change, but I also don’t want to get in the way of your future. You have so much responsibility and expectation on your shoulders.”

“All of that means nothing if you’re not by my side,” Tan replied, confidently. “You’re the only one who makes me feel alive. No amount of wealth or status can replace you.”

Both of them were silent for a moment, feeling the weight of the situation they were facing. In their minds, their feelings of love clashed with the responsibilities and realities of life. When Tan held Eun-sang's hand, he felt that it was time to take a bold step.

“I won’t ask you to sacrifice anything,” Tan said. “But I won’t let these people tear us apart either. We have to fight for our love.”

Eun-sang looked at Tan, hope starting to appear in her eyes. “How can we do this? What can we do?”

“I will talk to my father. He may not understand, but I will try to convince him that our love is real. We cannot let money or status rule our lives.”

Eun-sang nodded, trying to keep her spirit in check. “If you’re really determined, then I’ll be by your side, Tan. We’ll fight this together.”

The next day, Tan musters up the courage to confront his father, Kim Nam-yoon. He knows it’s a big step, but he feels he can no longer remain silent. In a tense meeting, Tan stares at his father sitting behind a large desk.

“Dad, we need to talk,” Tan said, his voice steady even as his heart trembled.

“About what?” Nam-yoon replied, looking at Tan with a serious expression. “Are you still in touch with that girl? Didn’t we talk about this?”

“I love him, Dad. And I can’t just break off our relationship just because of social status or wealth,” Tan said, trying to keep his voice calm.

Nam-yoon paused, his eyes sharp. “You know this isn’t about love, Tan. This is about your future and our family’s reputation. If you continue to get caught up in this relationship, you’ll ruin everything we’ve built.”

“This is about my happiness too, Dad!” Tan replied, his voice starting to rise. “I will not choose to live in lies and sorrow just to maintain the family’s image. Love is real, and it is more important to me than anything else in this world.”

Nam-yoon looked at Tan, and for the first time, he saw determination in his son’s eyes. “Tan, you have to understand that life is about sacrifice. Sometimes, we have to give up the things we love to protect something greater.”

Tan felt angry, but he also knew that his father was speaking from his own experience. “I don’t want to be like Dad who sacrificed everything for power and money. I want to live by my own choices, even if it means losing everything.”

Nam-yoon is silent, caught between love and responsibility. “Then, you have to think about the consequences, Tan. If you choose her, you have to be prepared to lose this legacy and everything we’ve built.”

“If that is the price for love, then I will be ready,” Tan replied firmly.

After the meeting, Tan felt even heavier. He knew that he had taken a brave step, but he also realized that it would have a big impact on his family. However, he could not give up on the love that had carried him through so many hardships.

On the other hand, Eun-sang felt a surge of emotion when Tan told her about the conversation with his father. They sat in the park near the school, talking in silence. “So, what did he say?” Eun-sang asked, hoping to hear good news.

Tan looked at her with a serious face. “My father refuses to accept us. He wants me to break off this relationship and focus more on my responsibilities to the family.”

Eun-sang felt her heart sink. “And what did you decide?”

“I told him I wouldn’t do it,” Tan replied, his voice firm. “I’d rather live my life by my own choices than live a lie.”

Tears began to stream down Eun-sang’s face, and Tan reached for her hand, holding it tightly. “Don’t cry, Eun-sang. We’ll get through this together.”

“I’m scared, Tan. Scared of our future. What if we can’t survive? What if we really have to separate?” she asked, her voice shaking.

“I believe we can get through this. We will find a way to be together, no matter how hard it is. Our love is strong, and it will overcome all obstacles.”

Weeks pass, and the pressures of the outside world become more and more intense. The Kims begin to isolate Tan from those they think might influence him. They arrange meetings with high-society friends and distance him from Eun-sang. Tan feels trapped in a trap designed to separate their love.

One night, while Tan was thinking in his room, a message came in from Eun-sang. “Tan, I want us to meet. I have something important to tell you.”

His heart fluttered as he read the message. He knew that the meeting might bring good or bad news. After a while, Tan went to meet Eun-sang at their usual meeting place, under the blooming cherry blossoms in the small park.

When he saw Eun-sang sitting alone, he immediately felt something was wrong. Her face looked worried, and her eyes looked swollen as if she had been crying. Tan immediately came over and sat down next to her.

“What’s wrong, Eun-sang? What happened?” he asked, worried.

Eun-sang took a deep breath, trying to control her emotions. “Tan, I… I feel like we’re caught between two different worlds. And as each day passes, I find it harder and harder to continue. We can’t keep living in uncertainty.”

Tan felt his heart tremble at Eun-sang’s words. “Don’t tell me you want to give up. We’ve been through so much. We can survive.”

“I don’t want to give up on you, Tan,” Eun-sang says, tears streaming down her cheeks. “But I also don’t want you to lose everything because of me. You deserve to be happy, and I don’t want to be an obstacle in your future.”

“You are my future, Eun-sang,” Tan replies, his voice full of conviction. “Without you, there is no meaning. We have to fight this world together. I won’t let anyone separate us.”

But Eun-sang paused, looking confused. “Tan, there’s something I need to tell you. My mom pushed me to accept your family’s offer. They offered us money to break up. And I… I didn’t know how to say no.”

Those words struck Tan like lightning. “Eun-sang, you can’t do that! Don’t let them buy your love. Our love can’t be measured with money!”

“I know, but... this is a chance to change my life and my mother's. We can't keep struggling like this. We can have a better life if we take the offer.”

Tan felt a deep pain. “But at what cost? It means we will lose each other. Are you ready to sacrifice our love?”

Eun-sang lowered her head, unable to answer. Tan felt his heart breaking. He didn't want to force Eun-sang to choose, but he also couldn't let them be separated.

“I will fight this, Eun-sang. I will fight for us,” he said finally, grabbing her hand tightly. “We can’t give up.”

The next day, Tan feels more determined than ever. He realizes that he has to fight for their relationship, no matter what it takes. He decides to go to Eun-sang's house and talk to her mother in person.

Outside, the weather was gloomy, and dark clouds seemed to be hanging over their heads. When Tan arrived at Eun-sang's house, he saw his mother standing at the door, looking worried.

“Kim Tan, what are you doing here?” Hee-nam asked, looking worried.

“I came to talk about Eun-sang. I want to explain that our love is real and cannot be measured with money,” Tan said, trying to sound convincing.

Hee-nam sighed, looking heavy. “My child, you must understand. This offer is not just for Eun-sang. This is a chance to give her a better future. She has suffered enough.”

“No amount of money can replace the love and happiness we have. If Eun-sang accepts the offer, she will lose the most important part of her life,” Tan said firmly. “I want to be with her, and I am willing to fight for this relationship.”

Hee-nam fell silent, her eyes filled with consideration. “You’re a good kid, Tan. But this world isn’t what you think it is. Sometimes we have to make hard choices to protect the ones we love.”

Tan felt the weight of the responsibility. “But I believe that our love can overcome all obstacles. I don’t want Eun-sang to feel trapped between love and responsibility. We can fight this world together.”

Finally, Hee-nam nodded, looking moved. “If you really love her, then you should let her choose. She has the right to determine her own path in life.”

After talking to his mother, Tan returned to Eun-sang. He found her sitting under a cherry blossom tree, her face looking tired. “Eun-sang, I talked to your mother. I want you to know that no matter what happens, I will always support you,” Tan said, his voice soft.

Eun-sang looked at him with hopeful eyes. “Tan, I… I feel confused. The offer is so tempting, but I don’t want to lose you. I don’t know what to do.”

“Do what you think is right. I will always love you, no matter what. We can find a way out together,” Tan replied, holding her hand tightly.

Eun-sang nodded, moved. “I don’t want to choose between love and happiness. I want us to find a way to be together without sacrificing our future.”

That night, the two of them sat under the stars, sharing their dreams and hopes. They agreed to face any obstacles together, no matter how hard it was.

In the midst of all this, Tan began to feel a change within himself. He realized that love doesn't always mean fighting for someone in a conventional way. Sometimes, love means giving the person we love the freedom to choose their own path in life, even if it means moving away.

One night, when Tan was at home, his father called him to discuss something important. Tan felt uneasy, but he knew that this was an opportunity to affirm his choice.

“Tan, I know you have rejected our offer. But you must realize that your actions will have consequences,” Nam-yoon said, his tone serious.

“I am ready to face the consequences, Dad. I cannot let our love be destroyed by power and money. Our love is real and inseparable,” Tan replied, adamant.

Nam-yoon was silent for a moment, considering Tan’s answer. “If you insist, then you should be prepared to lose the family inheritance. You won’t get anything from us if you continue to be in touch with that girl.”

“I don’t care, Dad. If that’s the price, then I’ll pay it. I’ll find my own way, and I’ll be happy with my choice,” Tan replied, his voice firm.

Nam-yoon nodded slowly, as if realizing that his son had made an irreversible decision. “Then, you must be ready to face all the challenges. It’s not just about love, but also about the future you have to build yourself.”

Tan understands that he must be prepared to face the consequences of the choices he has made. However, one thing is for sure, he will not back down from his love for Eun-sang.

A few weeks later, things are getting more intense. Tan and Eun-sang struggle to keep their love alive amidst the mounting pressure. However, they also begin to feel new hope. Tan gets an offer to work at a startup company that is not related to his family, giving him the chance to build his own career without being tied down by the Kim family name.

Eun-sang also begins to get new opportunities. With her mother's support and renewed enthusiasm, she is accepted into a scholarship program that will help her continue her education. Although they both face many obstacles, they know that their path forward will not be easy.

One night, when Tan visits Eun-sang at her home, he finds her mother talking to a lawyer. They discuss the offer the Kims have made. Tan feels his conscience pang, but he knows that Eun-sang must make her own choice.

“Eun-sang,” Tan said, taking the girl outside to talk. “I want you to know that I will never force you to choose between us and your family. Whatever you decide, I will support you.”

Eun-sang looks at Tan, their eyes meeting. “Tan, I’ve thought this through. I want to take control of my life and my future. I won’t let the Kim family decide for me.”

Tan felt new hope in his heart. “So, what are you going to do?”

“I will reject the offer. We may not have much money, but I will continue my education and find my own way. My love for you will never change, and I will fight for us,” Eun-sang replied, her voice full of conviction.

Hearing Eun-sang's words made Tan feel touched. "I'm so proud of you, Eun-sang. We'll get through this together."

That night, under the bright moonlight, they both felt as if the world could not separate them. They promised to support each other every step of the way, no matter how hard it was.

However, their lives do not always run smoothly. The Kim family continues to try to separate them, using various methods to pressure Tan to let go of Eun-sang. But their love grows stronger, and every time obstacles arise, they give each other support that makes them more confident in the choices they have made.

One night, while Tan and Eun-sang are walking in the park, Tan gets a call from his father. Nam-yoon appears angry and frustrated on the phone. “You have to stop dating that girl, Tan! She will only ruin your life. Our family can’t accept this relationship!”

Tan felt anger and injustice. “Dad, I won’t let anyone, including you, control my life. I choose Eun-sang, and no one can separate us!”

“I don’t want to see you destroy yourself,” Nam-yoon replied, but his son’s voice felt increasingly distant.

Tan hung up the phone with mixed feelings. He knew he had to fight for their love, but the pressure from his family was growing. When he returned to Eun-sang, he felt the burden on his shoulders grow heavier.

“What happened?” Eun-sang asked, seeing Tan’s troubled expression.

“My father kept pressuring me to leave you. He didn’t understand that my love for you was more important than all the power and money he offered,” Tan replied, sighing heavily.

Eun-sang holds Tan's hand, "We have to stay together. We have to fight through all of this."

Days pass, and Tan and Eun-sang continue to meet in secret, encouraging each other to keep going. They start to plan their future, trying to find a way to achieve their respective dreams.

One day, they decide to go to the beach, away from all the stress. There, they talk about their hopes and dreams. “I want to open a small cafe someday,” Eun-sang says, her eyes shining as she imagines the future.

Tan smiled, “That would be great. We could make it a place full of love and happiness.”

They both share beautiful moments, feeling the strong love between them. Even though the world around them is dark, the light of their love still shines.

But one night, things take a turn for the worse. When Tan returns home, he finds his father waiting for him with an angry face. “You keep ignoring everything we’ve built! You choose that girl over our family!” Nam-yoon shouts.

Tan felt angry and hurt. “I will not let you control my life! Our love is more valuable than all the wealth and status you want!”

“Then, you have to be ready to face the consequences. We will break up with you if you continue to be trapped in this relationship,” Nam-yoon threatened.

Tan felt his heart tremble. He knew that if he didn’t fight now, he would lose everything. “If that’s the price I have to pay for my love, then I’ll pay it,” Tan replied, his voice shaking.

When Tan left, he felt a lighter burden. He knew that he had taken the right step. With confidence in his heart, he goes to Eun-sang, telling her about his decision.

Eun-sang looked surprised, but also proud. “Tan, you are really brave. I will always support your decision.”

As they continue to fight for their love, the world around them changes direction. Tan starts to get noticed at his new workplace, and Eun-sang manages to get a scholarship that helps a lot. Despite the obstacles they face, their love never fades.

In the midst of their struggles, Tan decides to surprise Eun-sang. He plans a small party to celebrate their accomplishments. With the help of their friends, they set everything up in a small cafe they had dreamed of.

When Eun-sang arrives at the cafe, she is surprised to see the decorations and their friends gathered. Tan smiles and approaches her. “Congratulations, Eun-sang! This is to celebrate everything we’ve accomplished!”

Eun-sang was touched. “Tan, this is amazing! I didn’t know you planned all this.”

“I want us to celebrate every step we take together. We’ve been through a lot, and we’re going to keep moving forward,” Tan replied, his heart filled with happiness.

That night, they laughed, shared dreams, and felt a strong love between them. They knew that the challenges ahead would not be easy, but they were ready to face them together.

As time passes, Tan and Eun-sang continue to build their future. They succeed in achieving their dreams, no matter how big the obstacles are. Their love becomes an unshakable force, inspiring each other to keep fighting.

On each of their journeys, Tan and Eun-sang remind each other of the power of love and the legacy they created. They not only build a better life for themselves, but also give hope to those around them.

As Tan affirms his choice for love and happiness, he realizes that he is not only passing on love to Eun-sang, but also leaving a legacy for future generations—that true love will never fade, even amidst limitations and hardships.

They stand together, facing the world with confidence. “Together we can overcome anything, Tan,” Eun-sang says, looking at Tan with unwavering love.

“Yes, together we can change our destiny. We will write our own story,” Tan replied, holding her hand lovingly.

Their love was a predetermined destiny, and with every step, they left an unforgettable footprint, writing a legacy that will be remembered forever.
