Reflections on a Toxic Relationship
Normally it's always the same feeling after putting so much work into something that ends badly. In this case we are talking about a relationship. Two individuals who consciously make the decision to fall in together. It is in this race for a higher state of feeling that we might sometimes miss the signs given off by our potential partners.

Her Name Is My Name Too
I've been in love before, so much so that there are times I believe I still am...in love with my ex-boyfriend that is. We'd known each other since junior high, same class 7th and 8th grade, and boy did I have a crush on him (he was gorgeous in every way possible). He asked me to our eighth grade prom (I'm from NYC, we had 6th and 8th grade proms) and thanks to our meddlesome homeroom teacher, Ms. Cee (C is for cockblock, who was quite colorist and self-loathing — that's a whole 'nother story), he ended up taking another, fairer skinned girl.

Signs He Has A Side Chick
One of the saddest aspects of our current dating scene is the commonplace existence of a man who openly admits he has a side chick. Only 20 years ago, men actually used to be loyal and used to look down upon guys who openly had affairs. But, now, it's common to the point that it seems socially accepted.

Sex, Kids and the Single Woman!
I urge you to read through this post before you comment. Young, nice body, and four kids by different men is not a good look for any female. Unless you have recently been divorced or widowed, you are an exception to this popular opinion. I am referring to women who are competent and choose to make poor sexual decisions. I understand that slip-ups happen during a moment of intimacy, and I understand your choice to live a wild and loose lifestyle. Do know that there are consequences for each of the previous actions that can result in a child or two.

Sadness
Have you ever been having a good day only to come home and have your heart and soul shattered by four words? Have you ever felt the excruciating pain of feeling your heart disintegrate inside your chest? Trust me when I tell you, it is not a pleasant feeling. It does not feel good to come home from work and have your husband tell you he wants a divorce. The tidal wave of emotion that runs through you so hard and so fast that even your fingertips tingle. Like electricity is going to start sparking off of your digits.

The Hamiltons: Part 1
Eliza Hamilton smoothed the skirt of her new ball gown. The latest fashion was for high waists and a straight, column like silhouette. Gone were the tight corsets and immense panniers of her girlhood. All of the fashionable ladies in London and Paris were now dressing like figures from Ancient Greek vases.

Babygirl, Don't Lie
"Trust me...I'm a doctor," he whispered softly; his warm breath against my neck making me shudder. His tall, thin stature and slicked back brunette hair was almost irresistible. The way he would push himself against me just to reach around for a pen at the nurse's station already had my knees weak. His breathing was gentle and slow, his head pressed against my neck as he stood behind me, bending over to get to it.

Fire is Not a Toy
Annie. Fin. 2 paths. 2 lives. High in the mountains the birds are calling. Gently waking each other from their slumber as they rise for a new day. The goats bray as the goat herds lead them up the craggy hills and along a winding path a girl with hair the colour of the rising sun treads carefully over the morning frost. This is Annie.
