Maynard's Brother?
When I was still a mostly innocent adult-type person, long ago, I lived in another world called Kalamazoo, Michigan, where you can buy t-shirts that literally say, “Yes, there really is a Kalamazoo,” where the public library has a large piece of artwork that proudly displays the meaningful message: “Tattoo Sue from Kalamazoo Plays a Mean Kazoo”, the only city where Primus will open their concert set, with “A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H… I got a gal…” (sing it with me if you know it) “from Kalamazoo…” I was a freshman at Western Michigan University (go Broncos!), and I had not yet learned that frat parties for me, would be fraught with nothing but terribly awkward social interactions, gyrating hips, men with too-grabby hands, and awful music. Hence, one night, I found myself at one of these disturbing events.

Until Death Do Us Part
Staring down at the door handle, I wasn't sure what to expect anymore. I only knew that, with the turning of the knob and the opening of the door, my life would be changed for the better or the worst. Funny, how words can have that effect on you—the affect to remember things.

My Worst Date
#MyWorstDate It was in October, and I was still in my first semester of a university of my first year. I was dating a boy that was still in high school, and I went away to continue my education, so it was a long-distance relationship. The distance wasn't so bad, as it was only a couple of hours away, but we tried to make it work.

In the Blink of an Eye
In the Blink of an Eye. The worst part was how wonderfully the day had started and how great the rest of the day was supposed to be. The whole day had been planned out. It was a beautiful, sunny Wednesday during winter break, and I had plans with my boyfriend, best friend and her boyfriend. Austin, Krissy, Bert and I wanted to have a “couples day.” We went swimming in the morning, then planned to go eat lunch at Taco John's before we went ice skating.

Affected
Have you ever felt as if you’re in a world of your own? And not in that good way—y’know, with all the daydreaming and being happy inside and blah blah blah. I mean the other kind of “world of your own.” The one where you feel you’re the only one that’s there and you just feel so alone and betrayed by the ones you trust the most? Where you’re stuck with the same emotion every single day and it becomes more and more visible to the human eye? It’s like no one cares and they just watch as you just die inside, drowning in sadness? I feel everyone has been there in life...but if you haven’t, I’m so happy for you and I hope you never get put in that place.

Know Your Worth
Love can be an amazing thing; however, one-sided love can be destroying. You are worth more than how you are/were treated. If he/she puts you down every day, makes you feel unwanted, threatens to leave over every move you make, cusses at you, screams at you, they do NOT deserve you.
