Exes and Oh's: Part 23
MARLEY They were hiding something. That much I could tell when Serena and Danny remained two quiet mouses munching on their food during dinner. They'd only been going to counselling for a few weeks, and I was pretty certain spending weeks at therapy wouldn't unwind years worth of unresolved issues. But today wasn't about their drama. Today was about family and the renewed bond we continued to share, thanks to Gabe. I made a silent prayer in his honor before I began to empty the plates into the garbage disposal and Michael helped me place the plates into the dishwasher.

Not a Love Story
It wasn't a love story - no, it was being saved. It is four-years ago, and I've just struggled my way out of his clutches. His, he won't have a name. Humans today have traveled to other celestial bodies. We have been able to accomplish amazing architectural feats. Human society on a physical level seems as superior as ever. However, like a coin, there is always another side to it.

Ending that sort of relationship is never an easy breakup, even if it's "mutual" (which is something I still wonder is even possible). Nevertheless, life goes on and you move on; but after months and even years of hurting and healing, where does that leave you? How do you really get out of the past when you're unsure of the future?

Being Hispanic
In this day and age, it is sad to see people still having difficulty accepting different cultures. I am from Hispanic descent. My father and his family are from the Dominican Republic. My mother was born in New York, but her parents are also from the Dominican Republic. I was born in New York, but was raised there and in the Dominican Republic, so I was brought up speaking two different languages simultaneously, English and Spanish. My “native language” is both of them.

Love Isn’t Hopeless, Our Ideals of It Are
“One day someone will love you, the way you love that silly necklace of yours.” “It’s not silly. It was created with love, found with love, and given with love. You mean to tell me you wouldn’t hold onto something that brought a mere moment of happiness and clarity to your life?”
