Lady Rants about Busy-Body Nature of Pharmacists, Tells Her Personal Story (VIDEO)
Lady laments

We’ve all had awkward encounters at pharmacies, whether it’s an uncomfortable question from the pharmacist or unsolicited stares from other customers. But for one Nigerian lady named Tessy, her recent experience was more than just uncomfortable—it was outright judgmental.
This TikToker named sheistessyy took to social media to vent about an experience that left her feeling embarrassed and frustrated. She expressed her annoyance at how some people—particularly those in pharmacies—feel the need to judge others based on the medications or health products they purchase.
According to Tessy, people should mind their business when someone walks into a pharmacy. Whether it's for painkillers, contraceptives, or pregnancy tests, she feels like many that what someone buys is nobody else’s concern. However, she learned firsthand that minding one’s business isn’t always a common practice.
Taking to social media to recount her experience at the pharmacy, Tessy spoke saying:
TESSY: Why is it that when you go to a pharmacy or a chemist to buy particular drugs, the person selling it or the people around will be looking at you judgmentally? Like, why? I really don't understand it.
So I went to this particular pharmacy to buy a pregnancy strip. And the moment I just said the word ‘pregnancy strip,’ there was a woman sitting there—I think she just came to buy something or whatever. This woman was looking at me very, very judgmentally. She wasn't hiding it. The look was very, very obvious. It wasn't secretive. She was looking at me from head to toe, from my toe to my hair, my tummy. She was looking at every part of my body.
The way this woman was looking at me, I felt very, very embarrassed. And before you know it, I just blurted it out. I said, ‘I was married. I'm married. I'm not a single girl.’ This woman sighed. She was like, ‘Ha, thank God.’
And I was like, ‘Thank God for what? What are you thanking? What are you thanking God for?’
Anyways, I bought the pregnancy strip, and when I went home, I wasn’t pregnant.
Tessy's story is one that many women, and even men, can relate to. Pharmacies are places where people go to take care of their health, yet a lot of times, customers are met with judgment instead of a neutral or supportive atmosphere. This issue is especially common when it comes to products related to reproductive health like people buying pregnancy tests, contraceptives, or the likes, as if their personal choices are up for public scrutiny. But why should anyone have to explain themselves for buying something so completely personal? It can truly be very annoying.
