It started with Vision
an answered prayer
As I woke from the dream. I lay there looking out of my bedroom balcony door, trying to make sense of the vision I had. While I was asleep a person came to me, more specifically a homeless man with a very soft spirit. I was sitting downtown, looking out the window trying to figure out how I was going to help all these homeless individuals since there seems to be so many of them and not enough people willing to help. As I’m sitting there a tall man with a brown coat walks to me and says, “come take a walk with me”. He grabs my hand and before I even realize what has taken place I’m walking through the streets of downtown to a large building. He gently places a hand on top of mines and says, If your true desire is to help, quit your job, but don’t worry, the blessings that you’re going to encounter will be great. We continued to walk into this building entering a turn-style door. He stepped in 1st and then I walked in behind him. Instead of going into the building I continued to spin and ended back outside of the building. Then I woke up! Not sure what to think, I decided to get up and start my day.
While cleaning and tidying up the house, I came across a little black book that belonged to a close friend that I hadn’t seen in years. I couldn't believe it surfaced. I remember thinking about this book a year ago, and here it was laying in my lap. I decided to sit the book to the side until I could decide what to do next. I finish cleaning my cleaning and decided to shut down for the evening. The next morning after waking and getting my day started I went for my cell phone and noticed the book again. Hmmm, I wonder if I should send the book back, I thought to myself. When I opened the book. I noticed there were 3 pages at the very front that were blank, so I took the opportunity to shed some light on the things that had taken place in my life since our last encounter and to ask how she was. I ended the letter by letting her know that if there was anything I could do for her to let me know. I understand we longer moved in the same circles but once a friend, always a friend. "Here goes nothing", I said as I walked the large envelope into the post office before dropping it into the mail chute. I double-checked the address, "yep everything's correct". Praying it makes it to her and that I was able to share something that would encourage her to keep going and to never give up.
As I headed back home I replayed the words that I wrote on the pages. At that very moment, I noticed that I should take heed to what was written. In life, we should go for what we want while also asking for guidance from the most high. He orders our steps, our thoughts, and our actions. There is nothing that we can do without him. For as long as I can remember I've always prayed to work for myself, startup different Outreach programs helping the less fortunate, and helping women and children. I've also wanted to have a food truck so I'm able to travel across the United States sharing my passion and love for food but also just sharing my love for life being uplifting to all walks of life. It became clear to me that if I wanted to start this new path I needed to make a few sacrifices to get things in motion. So, I quit the job, started researching how to start Outreach programs, started volunteering my time and whatever resources I had to homeless shelters. It never really dawned on me that at some point I was going to be without. My only real concern was how I could help. After a few weeks, I felt more alive than I ever had, but of course, bills don't stop coming and I'm still unemployed. I have faith that something is going to work in my favor because I have been obedient and true to my heart. A few different things had taken place that caused me to use all of the money I had in the bank. Before heading to bed this particular night I prayed a prayer that I truly had made the right decision and then I went to sleep.
I woke about 5:20 to get a drink of water and decided to check my account. When I pulled up the information I immediately started to cry. There had been an anonymous deposit of $20,000 into my account. I logged into my account trying to find out where this money came from. Since there was no source I decided to call the local branch. The bank teller advised that the funds had been sent over via A local outreach program from Atlanta. The money was sent to the correct account. After I told her the details of my story, she said, wow! “The only way to look at this situation would simply be a prayer answered and a blessing.” “Sounds like your faith set you up to do what you’ve always wanted to do. It’s time for you to get it to work and start changing lives for the better”.
