"It Is Past Your Bedtime, Sir"

What will life be like if there weren't any types of clocks at all?

The sounds of "Tick Tock" reminded us that time is always ticking and never stopping unless of course, your batteries run out. There are five clocks in my home and in each of them, you can hear the ticking sound. We look at them for the time we wake up and when we go to sleep, I honestly look at the clock whenever it's time to eat or when it's time to go to bed. Forgive me if this bores you, but I find this interesting because I consider myself an interesting weird character. We look at our clocks or in our phones for everything. Time won't stop for anyone, sorry folks, but it is the truth. I remember reading the clock in the sixth period waiting for the hand to strike at 3:00 pm when school was out and was officially tired after eight hours of learning and thinking when lunch will start. You think I'm nuts for writing about clocks and I don't mind being called that. I even dressed as a clock for Halloween when I was six years old and I've been curious about clocks since then. Just kidding about that I definitely won't wear a clock for a Halloween costume that is just plain silly. Do you get annoyed by the ticking sound? Not really? Did you know that the Pendulum clock was up until the 1930s as the world's most precise timekeeper? You probably aren't familiar with the inventor of the pendulum clock. It's quite a genius invention created by Christiaan Huygens. He was born in a time where people accused others of witchcraft. The time in which women were fully clothed and chamber pots were the toilets that seem so disgusting to have in the house for a while until it's time to dump it elsewhere. My apologies if I went off-topic for a second, I thought of writing something from the Renaissance Era considering how times were different back then. Thanks to the clocks of the present day, I can remember what time is the wedding rehearsal of my older cranky sister or be on time for the most important day of life, and I don't mean birth or date but my future job depending on the interview. Time is consistent as we know and we often don't take advantage of the time we get in this world. Do you use your time wisely, like playing with your kids or hang out with your friends or even have the time to cook dinner for a family of eight? Huygens's idea of the pendulum clock was inspired by the works of Galileo Galilei, the father of modern science or probably known as the crazy madman who the church wasn't pleased with his work on astronomy. Those clocks were quite popular until the 20th century when newer clocks were coming and life as we know it was constantly changing as each century passed. Amazingly, we depend on something so small for our daily life uses. You might know this or not, but the earliest form of clocks was known as sundials. They were devices that will tell the time of the day by sunlight and shadows. These devices were often used in ancient times and I often wonder or maybe out of curiosity how did ancient people live without clocks or did they have clocks? If you ask me it makes perfect sense because we have the sun and moon, the light appears in the morning and at night the darkness replaces the light and eventually goes away and the light appears again. The process itself repeats over and over like a clock that keeps ticking and ticking. Time is crucial when we don't use it properly and days become weeks and weeks become months. You get the idea and now I check my clock and it seems to me that I'm late for a movie night with my friends.
