I Was Just Thinking…

People often wonder what the word love truly means. I have come to know this word takes on many forms as some would say the geography across the state of Texas is. Some people say that love is just a feeling, while others on a deeper level of understanding have come to know it as unconditional. Holding these truths to be evident, I know I exist because of this word.

Love is often mistaken for many things other than what it should be. People often feel that time equates to love whereas others may feel money is love, but what is love? Is love as temporary as we humans feel that it is, or is it as permanent as the Bible says? Love should in all cases endure, conquer, and triumph over all negativity. Love believes in a dream for someone when the odds are impossible. Love is the ability to know that we all will reach a goal in our life through the help of it. Love has many faces. Love covers all evil in the midst of perilous times. Love knows that if one of your children is different that you love them still the same as the others.

In my life, I have come to realize that I have been given certain cards to play in this game of life. I have also come to know that the cards, in which we play, as in a game of spades, can either enhance or cut us out. I also come to know that where love resides so does hate. In the midst of love, there is always the ability for this monster known as hate to arise.

Hate surfaces when the ties of love have grown weak. It has also come to my understanding that in order to grow hate must be feed by other negative emotions such as jealousy and envy. As a world, as a people, we have to stop the hate and increase the love. We need positive influences in our lives like friends, family, partners, or whatever the case may be. I have also come to know that we as a people must learn to stop degrading each other and learn to be the impetus behind a person’s success. We have to be the building blocks for each other; we have to aid one another in all that we do. Speaking is one thing, but actions are another. We have to allow our actions to show love, not hate, to be the shoulder “on which we can lean”. We must stop hate; time is out for these things. We have to learn to grow as a people. We have to learn to survive as a people. It is imperative to know that unity is the key to survival. I guess social Darwinism does play its role, however, it does not have to mean that we cannot reach back, help others that are in need of assistance. We have already faced enough prejudices in our lives as people, and now is the time for the edification of one another on a serious note.

The past is exactly where it belongs, in the past, but there is a sense of urgency for us to quit allowing those baggages to hinder us from our future. There is also a necessity for us to learn from the past so that we are not doomed to repeat it.

To recap all these thoughts, my random thoughts, we need love not hate, to grow, to learn, to live, and to survive. We need to keep our focus and edify one another instead of breaking each other down. These are simply my thoughts and my thoughts only, but it is time to start anew, nighttime has passed and this is the dawning of our day.
