Before my roommates leaves for Italy, I asked him, "Joe, do you think we will have a zombie apocalyptic collapse?" He smiles and says, "Depends on what movie you are watching..." Haaa. We laugh and turn to our T.V. ( as if the planet is NOT dying. )
While I ponder this in my room after T.V. time is over, I research valid websites ( .org, .gov, .mil, and .edu) and find a fact: humans will consume more natural resources than the Earth can regenerate. Houston, this is a big problem; Let's get creative.
"Have faith of a mustard seed and shoot the zombie in the head...because zombies' are depleting earth's ability to regenerate."
But, first numbers and family.
Math is simple. My Dad's an Impact Investment Consultant and my Mother is a Forensic accountant. I turned to Licensed Loan Officer for home banking needs after my twin sister tragically died in an alcohol related car accident at 23 years old. Desperate to find a new life, a friend suggested I consider a banking career moving 4ward. Sure, why not? It's a family thing.
My mind, my family, and our natural born gifts are: creativity. Each 1 of us has a special talent. My mom: paintbrush and pen, my father: helping others through labor and wood chopping, and me: aspiring script writer and storyteller. My father's inspiration was to take an old axe, he has been swinging for years, and commute via ferry to the San Juan Islands of British Columbia, CANADA and chop wood for widows on the islands. No money needed. My inspiration behind this creative project, is my father doesn't know I am telling you.
You see, I am sadly misunderstood by my father. You can say, my mother raised me. She was my bedrock and always there to encourage me along the way. I promised her that, 1 day, my creative stories would help us in ways we never expected. My father spends too much time thinking about my deceased twin sister and worrying about me "that" he can't see the good I have created.
Writing creative stories about those who have crafty ideas with awesome tools from FISKARS 27X FIBER COMP AXE, DEMO #2 can make such a difference in some elder females life isolated on the islands. Pender Island only has 2 ferries a day. I suppose when you are that elder, it is difficult to 1) ask for help 2) understand you need help 3) loneliness is lonely. So, my father's axe and a great idea has been helping communities all throughout British Columbia.
I think that because he is Director of Capital Regional District, that the politics make it hard for him to just... be a Dad. I have tried many ways to express my love and change for the better. But, it doesn't work. He hangs up on me and goes silent for months, or years. I lost count.
So, I am trying something different.
Our 17 goals for the future planet and avoid a "Zombie Apocalyptical" attack is as follows:
1) reduce poverty 2) help feed others 3) support education 4) clean water 5) decent work wages 6) equality 7) innovation 8) senior citizen support 9) equal pay for genders 10) help life under the sea 11) help life on land 12) affordable housing 14) health and wellness 15) mental health awareness 16) sustainable ecosystems 17) Renewable energies.
These projects involved 1 seed, 1 axe, 1 person....at a time.
Can I share with you something I learned in my creative mind? Zombie VS Human. When the computer asks you, "Are you a robot?" Do you wonder if some people are? And some are zombies? I do.
I pray my father will listen to me, moving 4ward. He shouldn't be scared that I will die too. I am the creative surviving twin with this "Project with Purpose." ( He doesn't know... but you do.)
