Flowers are what make our lives more beautiful, fill us with positive energy, and brighten our homes. Whether we received a bouquet from our loved one, from our loved ones or we simply created a floral arrangement with the help of flowers from our garden, we want it to last as long as possible in the pot.

Is such a thing possible? Yes, it is possible, and in the following lines, we will give you some tips to make the flowers in the pond last longer, because the saddest thing that characterizes the colorful wonders of nature is their ephemerality.

If you have received the flowers, you have no way of knowing exactly how mature they are, but if you have the opportunity to create floral arrangements with the flowers in your garden, to enjoy their presence in the tub for as long as possible, it is advisable to keep this in mind. And it is normal for raw-looking buds or flowers to last longer in the pot than those that are visibly mature and aged.

You should never cut the flowers in the garden as a stem, but the section should always be made obliquely. Even when you receive a bouquet of flowers, although the cut is oblique, try and refresh it with a shortening of 1–1.5 cm.

Clean the dried flowers. Even the fresh flowers in the garden can have dried leaves or petals, not to mention the ones we receive and which were purchased from a flower shop. Even if they are not wilted, the leaves that cover the stems of certain flowers will be removed because it is not advisable for the stems to be inserted with the corresponding leaves in the pots because the bacteria can grow very quickly.

In the case of flowers with a woody stem, it is advisable to split the stem about 2 cm, because this way the flowers will be able to take their nutrients out of the water faster and will last longer.

Make airy flower arrangements and try not to overcrowd the plants so that they will last longer.

You have probably heard that it is advisable to pour a teaspoon of sugar into the water in which the flowers will be arranged so that they last longer. However, sugar will only increase the ripening process and its use is indicated only if the flowers are in the bud stage.

A trick to keep the water fresh for longer is to add a pinch of salt or a few drops of vinegar. Even the classic method of aspirin is effective, but add a quarter or just half of aspirin to the flower water. Aspirin is effective because it helps preserve plants.

Change the water of the flowers in the vase daily but make sure that the water is not very cold but at room temperature, is recommended to use even warmer water in case the flowers start to wither. In order to enjoy their freshness for longer, it is advisable to offer them fresh water every day. It is also good to cut a little of the flower stalks every two days, but not more than 0.5 cm.

In order for the beautiful floral arrangements to stay fresh on the hot summer days, you can sprinkle them with a little cold water with the help of a spray container.

In this way, you will be able to enjoy for a longer time the beauty and freshness of your floral arrangements that illuminate your home and fill it with energy.

Do you like flowers? Which are the tricks you use to make them last longer? Personally, I try to change the water daily and from times to time, I insert an aspirin in the water.
