Hoi An is a beauitful and iconic location in Vietnam which is drowning in cultural significance and natural beauty, leading a large volume of tourists to this city in order to experience the traditional Vietnamese culture of this scenic coastal city. In addition to the culture iof this city, as a location that has been made famous by its natural sceneries, Hoi An has become a hotspot for avid photographers from local and international circles.

Accommodation

Before visiting Hoi An, one of the first things that you should sort out would be where you will be staying. This is important for many reasons, but one of the most important reasons (due to the nature of this trip) would be staying in close proximity to Bang Beach, in order to minimise travel time. Boutique resorts in Hoi An such as the Anmira Resort & Spa Hoi An by The Unlimited Collection are roughly ten minutes away from Bang Beach by car, and one hour away from Bang Beach if you choose to walk and snap pictures of the surrounding area on the way to the beach. Aside from reducing the travel time, another important factor to keep in mind would be the amenities and services offered by the hotel or resort that you are staying in, because if notified earlier, these accommodation options can prepare meals that you can take to the beach, allowing you to spend more time at Bang Beach.

Travelling within Hoi An

Travelling within Hoi An is not difficult due to the large volume of transportation options available, which will make your trip to Bang Beach significantly easier. The transport options vary, and selecting the right option for your needs is essential, therefore, factors to keep in mind include the type/ number of photography equipment that you would be carrying, whether you are travelling alone or in a group, and the exact time that you need be at Bang Beach.

Car Rentals and Taxis: If you are travelling in a group and carrying a lot of photography equipment besides one camera and a few lenses, the best option for you would be to rent your own car or hire a taxi through the local network or a ride sharing app. The reason behind this recommendation is due to the convenience of having your own vehicle and the guaranteed safety of your equipment.

Public Transport: If you are travelling on your own and are carrying a small amount of photography equipment, taking the local buses will help you cut costs and contribute more money toward the photoshoot. Although Hoi An is a very safe location, when using public transport options be aware at all times, especially if you are carrying expensive equipment.

Places of Interest near Bang Beach

Aside from Bang Beach, Hoi An offers a large volume of local landmarks and cultural sites that can be photographed, adding more value to the photography trip. Popular UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Hoi An Ancient Town are popular for architectural shots and this can be captured by the vibrant streets lined with colourful lanterns and ancient temples. For a more rugged and rural landscape, take a day trip to Tra Que Vegetable Village, in order to capture farming areas and lush green fields, which will add more natural tones to your collection of photographs. The Marble Mountains are another popular location to photograph, this location is a little far out, however, it is worth visiting due to its natural landscape, caves, temples, and panoramic views over the coastline.

General Tips for Your Photoshoot at Bang Beach

When engaging in your photoshoot, it is recommended to take pictures during early morning or late afternoon in order to make the most of the golden-hour lighting, which will add beautiful golden hues to your pictures. Additionally, a polarising filter can enhance the blue of the sky and reduce glare from the water, while a wide-angle lens is excellent for capturing the expansiveness of the beach and the horizon.
