How I Feel About Young Actors Doing BBL - Ayo Adesanya
Ayo Adesanya opens up

In the ever-evolving entertainment industry, beauty standards have constantly shifted, with new trends emerging and fading away. One of the most prominent trends in recent years has been the rise of cosmetic enhancements, particularly the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). However, Nollywood actress Ayo Adesanya believes that the industry’s obsession with artificial beauty may not stand the test of time. She recently shared her perspective on the matter, shedding light on the importance of talent over trends.
Talking about the entertainment industry's focus on artificial beauty, Ayo said:
AYO ADESANYA: These days, I realise that people take mundane things seriously. It is always the artificial that is selling. But if you check very well, there are still some people who are into originality. So, as an actor, it is left for you to decide what you want to do.
A few years from now, that BBL may not work again. It’s going to shift. Change is constant. So, if you want to do BBL because you think it’s going to be better for you and you will make money, it’s on you."
Her words reflect the transient nature of beauty trends, pointing out that what is currently in vogue might not remain desirable in the near future. While cosmetic procedures have gained popularity among entertainers and social media influencers, Adesanya’s perspective challenges the notion that physical enhancements equate to long-term success in the industry.
Emphasizing the power of true talent, Ayo continued:
AYO ADESANYA: When you have talent, artificial things like doing BBL will not move you because you know that your talent is more important than that BBL you want to do.
This sentiment echoes the belief that an actor’s skills and abilities will always outshine any physical modifications. For Adesanya, the ability to captivate an audience and leave a lasting impact through performance is far more valuable than adhering to fleeting beauty standards. Her words serve as a reminder to aspiring actors and entertainers that investing in their craft will ultimately yield greater rewards than superficial changes.
Beyond the discussion of artificial beauty, Adesanya also shared her secret to maintaining her youthful appearance and staying relevant in the industry saying:
AYO ADESANYA: Nothing special though, aside from the fact that God has my back. Aside from that, I work with a lot of younger people. I don’t discriminate. I am ready to work with everybody, especially the younger generation. That has given me the spotlight that I am still savouring.
Her openness to collaborating with young talents not only keeps her in tune with industry trends but also ensures that she remains a relevant figure in Nollywood. By embracing fresh perspectives and working alongside the next generation of entertainers, Adesanya has managed to sustain her presence in an industry that is always looking for the next big thing.
