How Chioma and I Were Able to Get Past My Mistakes - Davido
Davido opens up

Nigerian singer Davido and his wife, Chioma, have gone through a lot in the public eye. We have watched them go through very high highs and witnessed them also go through very low lows. And amidst all of that, especially during the time when unfavorable news stories kept coming out about Davido, a number of people online even advised Chioma to leave. But she didn't, and the couple have waxed on strong, finally tying the knot in front of our eyes earlier this year.
Now, during a new interview with The Morning Hustle, Davido is being asked how he and Chioma were able to get through those very rough patches. And here's what Davido had to say.

During the interview, Davido was asked "Obviously you're celebrating because you got married, you found your wife and everything. But what was it that kind of led you towards her being the one that you chose?" Davido responded:
DAVIDO: I mean it's been my girl for like 12, 13 years you know what I'm saying. It's only right. She's the only one I could have done this with.
Then the interviewer asked "She was with you before the fame?" to which Davido said:
DAVIDO: No. I was famous, but I wasn't like big big, but I was kind of okay you know what I'm saying. Let me explain, so let's say now I'm making like 5 or $600,000 a show. On a good day I'm making that. So, she was with me when I was making like $2,000 $3,000. She's been down, she's been down with me like long. She's my friend, she's my dawg.
Then, he was asked "It would be so much harder for you to find a wife now after you're making $500,000?" to which he said:
DAVIDO: If it was not her, I'm not getting married. There's no point. You don't want me for me. Impossible. Like now, how? I probably would have just had kids and chill.
Then, he was asked "What about your mistakes? How do y'all get past things that hit social media?" to which he said:
DAVIDO: Omo, everybody is a human. I mean, she's a human too. I'm a human. Everybody messes up.
Then the interviewer said "But it's different when it's a human behind closed doors versus a human on social media with millions of people" to which Davido said:
DAVIDO: I actually say that. It's easier to, for example, let's say you have a guy and nobody knows y'all, it's easier to sort your shit out. But if you got 40 million people talking, it's different. But she's a calm lady, she's a good good woman. And when you have a good woman like that, you tend to not even want to be fucking up.
