Homosexuality Is Not a Choice

Science says there is biological influences that determines someone's sexuality. But before I get into that I need to debunk the myth that there is a link between homosexuality and paedophilia. Paedophilia is a psychiatric disorder not a sexual orientation, and a sexual orientation is an attraction to a gender or a sex. Paedophiles are attracted to children. Children before gender specifically. A child is not a gender or a sex, it's an age group. Notice that there is an imbalance because an adult is sexually attracted to a child if he or she acts on it, and then is dangerous to the child. The child is too young to know what sexual consent is. Homosexuality is a consensual relationship between two people of the same sex/gender. Homosexuality is universal, but has been criminalized due to colonisation and religious intolerance

Not even 5 percent of the world identifies as LGBTQ+. Just like men and women are biologically different, so are straight men and non-straight men. Scientists have concluded that your sexuality is biological influenced/biologically determined, meaning that it's something you have no control over. Studies have shown that gay men and straight women have similar brain structure and patterns, and straight men and lesbian women have similar brain structure and patterns.

In Gay men there is a gene on chromosome 13 that is active in diencephalon, which is located in the brain. This brain region contains the hypothalamus, which was identified in 1991 as differing in size between gay and straight men. Two years after this discovery, on July 16, 1993 the Daily Mail ran the headline "Abortion hope after 'gay genes' finding". Of course the media has to use hyperbole, even though nowhere did scientific studies mention that there is a 'gay gene' but a biological influence.

Now that the science mumbo jumbo is clarified and out of the way, let's address the myths and stereotypes that are perpetuated by mainstream culture. You can't recruit anyone to be homosexual. Teaching or showing homosexuality won't make kids become gay because society is heteronormative and some people still identify as gay. Some people discover their sexuality from a young age whereas some discover it in their adulthood. Heterosexual people sexualise LGBTQ+ community more than the LGBTQ+ community sexualise themselves. Heterosexuals also sexualise their children more than gay people do. Not every gay man has feminine/ female-like mannerisms. Not all gays are feminine, gay machismo men exist too. Straight people sexualise their children at very young ages. A few examples would be introducing your daughters to books about being a princess and marrying a prince at the age of 2, calling your son a 'lady's man' when he's staring at a girl when babies just stare in general. Telling your son he can't play with a toy or wear a colour that is typically viewed as feminine because "he's a boy and boys are suppose to do this". Telling your daughters they should cover up in front of their uncles such as don't wear shorts or low skirts (which is very worrying). These are forms of sexualisation and objectification which are toxic. Let children be children with imposing heteronormativity on them.

I need to address people of color and how homophobia is ingrained in their culture. Why is it that black people openly defend drug dealers, murderers, cheaters, but yet gay people are constantly ostracized and ignored because they supposedly breakdown the black family. I experienced racism before I experienced homophobia but the homophobia outweighed the racism. Racism and homophobia are two intersections that should never be compared to each other however homophobia has impacted me worse than racism has. Is that not saying something? Are we just unaware that homophobia is nothing more than a product of colonisation and slavery? Black men's homophobia, which is fragile masculinity is nothing more than a product of white Supremacy to emasculate a black man. No one would address or confront lesbians or bisexual women in the black community, instead they would be fetishized by men. I would be referred to 'westernized'.
