Here's The Reason Why You've Never Found True Love

It's simpler than you think.

By Eudi JeffersonPublished 5 years ago 4 min read

You’ve spent all your life looking, and looking, and looking for love.

But every time you get into a relationship, it doesn’t feel right. You don’t feel that story book feeling that you thought you would feel.

“What is the damn problem? Why can’t I find love?”

That last question above is the problem, but most of us haven’t realized it yet, and many people will never realize it.

It’s this simple...

You don’t FIND love, love FINDS you.

I’m not talking about going to Match.com and hooking up with 3 separates dates this week.

I’m talking about 100% TRUE, PASSIONATE love.

If it’s love you want, TRUE love, you’re going to have to face this hard truth, this kind of love cannot be found, it will find YOU.

“Well damn, I don’t feel like waiting. I want love now!”

You can’t demand love like an on-demand movie, love is something that will either find you, or it won’t. There are literally 1,000’s of people on Earth who will never know what true love is, and that’s not an insult or meant as disrespect to anyone, that’s just the way it is.

When you take the position that you’re going to go out and find a relationship, you can find a relationship, but it doesn’t mean it will be the true love you’ve hoped for. Anyone can find a relationship, that’s easy, but not many will have true love.

I know you probably won’t like to hear this, but I’ll say it anyway...

You’re going to have to WAIT on love, true love.

And sometimes, it NEVER comes.

Just because you're with someone, and just because you may have spent many years of your life with them, doesn’t mean you've found it. People don’t like being lonely, and they will take up with the nearest person standing by just to say they’ve found someone.

That folks, is not true love in any sense of the word.

You may not like this piece of advice I’m about to give you, but I made a promise that I would always tell you the truth, and not a bunch of “one day you’ll find your knight in shining armor” crap.

One day you COULD find your knight, it is possible, but I need to tell you to STOP LOOKING.

Stop going on Match.com, eHarmony.com, Tinder, & Plenty of Fish.

Stop going to speed dating events.

Stop expecting to find a spouse at the bar or nightclub.

Stop thinking 1,000 selfies on Instagram/Facebook is going to find the “one”.

You’ll find a body, but not true love.

Yes, this may be hard to hear for some people, but this is the unadulterated truth. If you want true love in your life and not just another warm body on the couch, you have to stop looking for it and sit back and wait.

This is not a guarantee. There’s no guarantee you’ll find your true love by waiting, but you are doing yourself a disservice by looking, looking, and looking for someone to shack up with. I know that no one uses this language to describe this, but that’s what it is. When you make it a daily mission to find someone to be with through dating websites, speed dating, blind dating, nightclubs, bars, or anything else along these lines, that’s what I call shacking up.

You can call it what you want.

I understand that people don’t want to be lonely. I get that. But if you want to know why those relationships you’ve been in didn’t give you true fulfillment, I’m giving you the answer. You settled because you didn’t want to be lonely, so you thought that said person would give you the comfort you needed to make you happy.

Then, somewhere down the line, your heart tells you the truth.

What most people do, is just accept the relationship they’re in, think about the time commitment they’ve put in, emotional commitment they’ve put in, and tell themselves that they’re in love. I can’t say that about everyone, but it can be said for many.

Because you’ve lived under the influence of television, movies, and endless commercials featuring dating websites, you think this is what you have to do, so most of us do it, and end up in the bottomless pit of failed relationship after failed relationship.

So, this will be very strange to hear what I’m about to advise, because it is NOT a popular stance...

From this day forward, do not even think about dating or pursuing a relationship. Get it out of your mind because you should not be chasing it.

Focus on your health and your diet and get yourself in the best shape possible.

Do what you can to get rid of all past emotional baggage.

Find one or more hobbies that you are passionate about and start doing these things on a frequent basis. This should be a major part of your life.

All of these things are important because in order to have true love, you need to be happy and fulfilled with yourself first. You will never find true love if you have too many things weighing you down.

The hobby is the MOST important thing of them all.

When you’re happy with yourself, feeling healthy and living life to the fullest, it is important to pursue a hobby or an interest that you’re wildly passionate about. This gives you a sense of purpose and you won’t sit around feeling sorry for yourself being single. Even more important, if you’ve picked a hobby that you truly care about, this is where you can be social and open the doors of the universe to introduce someone who is just as passionate as you are, but do not pursue your hobby with a dating goal as the end game. It’s ok to be social, and I highly advise it. This is simply a way to position yourself to possibly “come across” someone who has the same interest as you.

And, if it doesn’t happen for you, there’s no need to beat yourself up.

Everyone will NOT be married.

Everyone will NOT have children.

Everyone will NOT find true love.

If you are one of the few that gets to experience true, passionate love in this Ashely Madison world, be thankful and hold onto it as long as you can.

love
