Being a good neighbor is one thing. But when was the last time you went the extra mile by showing a random act of kindness? Whether it be donating to a charity, helping an elderly lady with her groceries, or fostering animals who have been abandoned or abused, no matter how big or small Good Deeds can make a huge impact on someone's life.

Sometimes they're very unexpected, not planned in any way but very necessary. Take my story for example.
One hot summer day my sister and I decided to take our children to a local swimming hole. All the locals called it "The Rock" because of the large formation that poked out of the middle of the river. Only the brave dare swim out and jump off. That's why I thought it was crazy when I looked over and saw a woman with a child clinging to her back swimming out to of he Rock. Neither of them ad life jackets on.
When she made it I was relieved and I went on minding my own business after that. Then out of the blue I hear a scream a faint scream but enough to catch my attention. I looked over, the woman was trying her hardest not to go under the water the child still clinging to her back she was heading back to shore.
Without hesitation I jumped into the water and begin swimming to her. Keep in mind Im a smoker and get winded very easily and I am also very afraid of deep water, but none of that mattered , my only thought was I have to help. When I reached her she was exhausted on the brink of drowning. She handed me the child and she flipped over onto her back to try to stay afloat. The weight of the child pulled me down a little bit but I managed to swim enough to pass the child on to my sister who was waiting closer to the shore. when we got back safely the lady looked at me with great thanks in her eyes and told me that if I wasn't there that her and the boy would have died she was going to drowned and I saved her and the child.
That day will always be remembered. I put aside my fears I put aside my risk for somebody else's life and that is a great deed. But as I said before any deed whether it be good or small as long as it is good can make a huge difference in somebody's life or even the world.
So next time you see an elderly woman trying to cross the street alone , help her across it. When you know somebody struggling for food , donate some. Where at a time in our lives where People are struggling out there from the pandemic of covid-19 and with people losing their jobs, if you have the means why not donate? hy not help them? t's the right thing to do , t's the good thing to do and it shows that you are a human capable of empathy and compassion.
