God is Writing Your Love Story, So Don’t Worry

When your heart is ready, the right person will arrive—written by the Author of all things.

Chapter 1: The Waiting Season

I used to lie awake at night wondering if something was wrong with me.

Most of my friends were either dating, engaged, or already married by their mid-twenties. I’d scroll through Instagram and see their shiny engagement rings, professional couple photoshoots, and romantic anniversary posts. Everyone seemed to have someone—except me.

I didn’t just want a partner. I longed for a soul-deep connection, for someone to see me, love me, and stay. But that kind of love felt like a fairy tale for someone else.

Every birthday that passed without a relationship felt like another stamp of failure. I prayed, cried, journaled, and even tried dating apps. And yet, no one stayed. No one fit.

One day, I sat on the edge of my bed, overwhelmed and exhausted. I whispered through tears, “God… why not me?”

And in the stillness of that moment, I felt a gentle reassurance deep in my soul:

"I’m writing your love story. Trust Me."

Chapter 2: Trusting the Author

That wasn’t easy to hear.

We live in a world that tells us to chase what we want, fix what we don’t like, and never sit still. But what if the most important things in life aren’t meant to be rushed or forced?

I had to learn to let go. Not give up, but surrender.

I started focusing on becoming the kind of person I’d want to love. I poured into my friendships. I explored new hobbies. I traveled alone. I healed from past wounds I had ignored for years.

And slowly, I stopped seeing love as a prize I hadn’t earned.

I began to see it as a gift—one that would come at the right time, in the right way, from the right hands.

God was not ignoring me. He was preparing me.

Chapter 3: The Unexpected Answer

It didn’t happen with fireworks or music swelling in the background. It started as a simple conversation over coffee after church.

His name was Elijah.

He was kind, not flashy. He listened—really listened. He laughed at my awkward jokes. And for the first time in a long time, I felt safe.

There was no grand sign that said, “This is it.” But something inside me recognized something inside him.

We took it slow. We talked about our pasts, our fears, and our hopes. We prayed together. We didn’t just fall in love—we built it, day by day.

Looking back, I can say this with certainty:

If I had met Elijah any earlier, I wouldn’t have been ready.

And maybe he wouldn’t have been either.

But God? He knew the perfect timing. And He brought us together when the foundation was strong enough to hold something real.

Chapter 4: Beyond the Love Story

Here’s what I’ve learned: Love isn’t just about finding the right person. It’s about becoming the right person, too.

God doesn’t make us wait to be cruel. He makes us wait so He can give us something better than what we would’ve settled for.

When I was single, I felt like I was being left behind. But now I see that I was being set apart—for a love I couldn’t have imagined, with someone I hadn’t expected.

Every tear I cried, every prayer I prayed, every lonely night—it wasn’t wasted. It was all part of a story I couldn’t see the ending to yet.

Now, as I sit beside the man who’s become my best friend and biggest encourager, I am reminded that the Author of time never misses a detail.

Final Chapter: For You Who Are Still Waiting

If you’re reading this and your heart feels tired, I get it.

If everyone else seems to be moving forward and you feel stuck, I see you.

But please hear this:

You are not behind. You are being beautifully prepared.

God is writing your love story—not based on your timeline, but on what’s truly best for your heart.

It’s okay to hope. It’s okay to be honest about the ache. But don’t let the wait make you believe you are forgotten.

Because the One who knows your heart better than anyone is crafting a story better than you could dream. And when the time is right, it will feel like it was always meant to be.

Moral / Life Lesson:

Don’t rush what God is writing.

Love is not a race or a prize for doing life "right." It’s a gift, crafted in unseen moments by the One who knows your every need. If you’re in a season of waiting, know this: You are not being punished or left out. You are being lovingly guided into something worth every second of the wait.

Trust the Author. His timing is never late.
