While reading Sunday morning news from around the African continent, something I do every morning. On UTV News Ghana there was a report of a robbery & murder. The suspects didn't have Ghanaian surnames (last names, family names), which led me to the comments section.
The first comment below the story was about Nigerians, after reading that comment I scrolled to read others replies. The comments became more and more brutal, normally Facebook would catch these to mark them for removal.
Ghanaians are well known for their treatment of other African nationals from neighboring West African countries. Often times they speak as if the citizens are awful people, the mentality that Ghana and its people are the only peaceful ones in the ECOWAS block. Or all of Africa for that matter is spewed everyday living in Ghana.
I tried to ask the posters if they understood how their comments were xenophobic and hateful. One young man decided he wanted to then insult me and my country. Though he couldn't know my country without asking but he assumed.
Everyone who's photo I used I offered them my contact information as well as informed them that they're comments would be made public with their Facebook information.
Two people said that they would be suing me, since they said they wanted to sue, I offered them my business card. They all declined only one
How it started Sunday, 29 January 2023 UTV News Ghana & Ghana Police Twitter, posted of the arrests.
Below there is a video of a Black woman explaining the hatred that some African immigrants bring to the United States. This is much like the hatred I found in Ghana. Ghanaians and other Africans are bringing their White Supremacy mentality to the United States and forcing this on African Americans.

There were hundreds of xenophobic replies the comments that called for violence towards Nigerians were liked and supported by others. This man claims where he's located in Ghana that they burn Nigerian citizens.
He from his comment doesn't live in the Greater Accra region, the capital city of Ghana. He may or may not being telling there truth, in a country where burning trash outside is common.
Who would report him burning a body if he lived in a more remote area with others whom hold this same hatred for Nigerians. Last I heard it wasn't legal to burn bodies in Ghana but living in the country I've seen crimes and accidents go unreported or solved.

In 2024, Ghana selects a new president, when in the country during the 2020 election I was able to notice this xenophobic behavior. According to this Twitter post from 2020 the xenophobia is going to escalate but if it gets worse than what I've observed today on social media it will be horrific.
This is not the first time I've written about Ghanaians practicing xenophobia in their country. Ghanians have refused housing as well as employment to Nigerians. Prior to the 2020 elections, Nigerian shop owners and businesses were targeted for closure and burning.
Donald J. Trump's comments from social media:
President Donald Trump has wrecked that message. This week, he told four Democratic congresswomen to “go back” to the countries from which their families emigrated. Three of the four lawmakers—Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan—were born here. By targeting them, Trump has sent a warning to every American whose ancestors came to this country: You, too, can be told to go home.
Ghanaians comments towards a Lebanese man on Twitter:
Ghanaians went to a 'Wig Fair' and behaved so badly that the Nigerian woman who have for months prepared for the event left. She was selling wigs at a discounted price for Ghanaian women. However the Ghanian women wanted to sell the fake hair at higher prices.
They made signs, posted them and cowardly no one was seen holding these signs which told foreigners to go home. Which is odd considering so many foreigners employ Ghanaians, if they left Ghana there would be massive unemployment.
A Ghanaian Bolt Food driver even thought this author was white. He threatened me and threw my food on the ground. The odd thing is the man and I were both outside my home for 15-20 minutes, while 5-6 other drivers delivered food.
This driver refused to come to me because he thought I was white, when I went into my home to retrieve my cellphone to see where he was he said it was my job to walk to him and ask about my own food.
That isn't true but he was also in the middle of my block, while the other drivers were at my building serving others and dropping at the MEST house across the road.
