perfect date

I have arrived at the restaurant on a blind date. My date had arrived early and he was waiting for me. As I was approaching remembering what he said he was going to be wearing, I spotted him and for a moment I took a deep breath in awe and exhaled. There was a bottle of Merlot at the center of the table with some beautiful carnations. He was there sitting in anticipation. As I was getting closer he recognized me from the description, and he stood up standing tall and well groomed he extended his hand towards me to escort me to my chair as we introduced ourselves. His name is Johnathan. I said, I’m Victoria. I looked at the bottle of Merlot and he kindly asked, Have some Merlot? I replied, yes please that will be nice. I looked slightly away with a little grin thinking, my friend Lisa did a good job setting up this blind date. I thought to myself, he is like a breat of fresh air.

Later that same evening I noticed a lady who looked just like my friend Laura. It couldn’t be her, could it? I kept looking and low and behold it was her so I waved my hand and called out her name as loud as I could without making an embarrassing scene in front of my handsome date, Johnathan. Laura, over here, she looked over towards where myself and Johnathan was sitting. Laura came over and I introduced her to my date. She started telling me why she was there and what a surprised we ended up in the same exquisite five star restaurant for I thought she was going out of town that morning but her plans got canceled. Laura was meeting a long term friend from South Carolina who was in town to attend a funeral she was going to be in town for a couple of days. Oh well there she is Laura whispered. Isabel over here, Laura said. Isabel was quite lovely seemingly and Laura introduced her to us.

After a while I was getting a bit tired so I asked to be excused from the table to go to the ladies room and Laura proceeded me. I looked at my date and said, don’t drink up the wine while I’m gone, and he replied, don’t worry now, I will save you some. Isabel who was left standing there near the table where my Johnathan and I was eating. Apparently, Johnathan must have invited her to sit and have a glass of Merlot with him. Laura was first heading back to where she left Isabel but to her dismay she noticed Isabel having a drink with Johnathan. Laura turned around to catch me before I got too close and grab my arm and turned me around back into the ladies room. Laura, I said, what in the cheese biscuit is going on you’re scaring me. Laura, I see you are shaking and her heart was raising. Calm down girl what is wrong with you tell me now? Why did you grab my arm like? Laura took a deep breath with tears in her eyes and said, you need to just forget about your perfect date. What, where is this coming from? My friend and your date are having a glass of Merlot. I starred at her and replied, ok what is wrong with that? Laura paused for a moment and said to me, no you don’t understand I’m not that petty. They were sitting very close and they was holding hands and starting each other in the eyes. Oh my, what, I can’t believe this. I’m going to confront him. No, don’t, let’s just go.

That night ended up to be a total disaster for me. This was a wake up call. Just because someone look the part doesn’t mean they are the one for you I remembered my mother telling me this. My friend Lisa meant well. After I hit myself I called Lisa and told her what had happened. She has known Johnathan for a long time and was very shocked to hear this of him. I let Lisa know it was not her fault she couldn’t had know about this and I thank her for trying and wanting me to happy. I explained to her that I don’t need a man to make me happy I just want a msn to share memories with. I think I’ll do it the old fashion way and wait until the one finds me. Isabel ended up holding the glass. Just may be that night was perfect for her. The end!
