Feel on Roads

Sad fact of life

A road side scene

Feel on Roads

I just love to walk around the roadsides…. Walk along and long and long. I enjoy seeing the people walking, sitting, selling, and wandering on the roadside. But it is not always enjoyable. It is joyful when I am in the mood to eat the things selling on carts and stalls there. I love to eat samosas, Papri Chaat, Dahi Bharay, Gol Gappaas, and the other food items being sold there. I love to see people enjoying these small happy moments.

These small moments of joy are not only in the context of eating things but there are many people on the roadside of an urban area who just love to sit leisurely on a bench or on the bank of the road and have a chit-chat with friends or the professionals present there. They talk about the present condition of the country. They talk about inflation and the present political situation of the state. They show their worries about their children and how will they be bred and make them able to get an education and become beneficial citizens. They, having sips from the cup of tea on a tea stall talk about the future of the country and their own families. In the end, some of them look worried and some stay satisfied and content by leaving everything to the Almighty.

The other scene which I observe on the surrounding road is about the young boys playing traditional games on the roadside. They play marbles, Tipu Garm, and other games traditional games. The young boys play cricket as well on the sides of the road…that is quite enjoyable to see them indulging in their little joys, but it is dangerous at the same time for them because they don’t care about the surroundings and the traffic running on the roads.

There are so many things to enjoy around the road trip, but that is painful at the same time. It is painful to see young children wandering around in a miserable conditions. Asking for money and food they knock on the windows of the cars. They ask every single person on the road who seems to be in good condition or generous. But it is not always fruitful for them to ask every person. Some people think they should not be given any money because they could be a part of any gang and would be unable to use that money. Some people think that if given money, they may become lazy and never try to earn money by working hard. Some people think they should be given only food so they may eat it themselves.

There are not only little children on the road who are begging. But such children and adults have some small things in their hands to sell for a small amount of money. They have combs, dusters, handkerchiefs, flowers, garlands, or some eatables. Apparently, they seem to be not begging but selling something and earning by hard work, but most people think that they hide their laziness in this work because many of the people give them just money in sympathy but do not buy anything from them. This makes them lazy and raises their expectations from all of the people in society. Either it should not be promoted.

Well, it is not known how much is this fear that the children of the society are wandering around and they have no source of education. They have no source of getting a good life. It is not easy to say that they are willing to live in this condition or they are forced to live in it. Street bagging is not good for children as they ruin their lives in bagging and live a very low standard of life.

But here the matter is that walking on a public road not only makes me amused but sad at the same time. My heart fills with sadness and emotions to do something for the suppressed people. But still, the matter is that only I cannot change the world. All the people in society have to pay their part to make a happy society.
