Drama as Fans Accuse Toyin Abraham of Shading Funke Akindele in New Statement
What Toyin said

If you are a Nollywood fan living in Nigeria, this is a wonderful time to go to the cinemas as there are a number of stellar movies currently showing in cinemas nationwide. Naturally, when multiple things are released at once by different people, there is the inevitable appearance of competition and people pitting things against each other. That is what is currently happening by the public in relation to the movies in cinema. Today, it is between Toyin Abraham's movie Alakada: Bad and Boujee and Funke Akindele's Everybody Loves Jenifa.
The drama all came to be when Toyin Abraham was celebrating her movie Alakada: Bad and Boujee being the No. 2 Nollywood title for the weekend. In her celebratory post, Toyin Abraham wrote a statement, and it seems like fans aren't finding it funny at all, and seeing what she said as a dig towards Funke Akindele whose movie Everybody Loves Jenifa is currently No. 1.
Here's what Toyin Abraham said, and you be the judge. Do you think it's shade against Funke, or do you think it's an innocent statement?

Taking to social media to celebrate being the No. 2 Nollywood title for the weekend, Toyin Abraham wrote:
TOYIN ABRAHAM: With an overwhelming outpouring of love, kindness, and compassion from fans all across the country, we were able to make this as our opening weekend figure.
Thank you for watching and supporting us.
Without expecting gift or inducement at the box office to buy our tickets, you’ve stood by us, and we are deeply grateful.
However, we’ve learned that #AlakadaBadAndBoujee isn’t showing in many cinemas.
Nigerians, thank you from the bottom of my heart! This support means the world to me. Please, let’s keep the momentum going—spread the word far and wide, Alakada Bad and Boujee! Is showing in all the cinemas.
I love you all endlessly.

Do you see the part that people think is shade after reading her statement?
Well, if you don't, then I'll tell you. It is the part that says:
Without expecting gift or inducement at the box office to buy our tickets, you’ve stood by us, and we are deeply grateful.
People feel like this is a diss towards Funke Akindele who had merchandise and gifts present at the box office during the opening weekend of Everybody Loves Jenifa.
One person said against what Toyin Abraham said: "Instead of you to pray to God to remove envy from your heart, see what she's doing differently that has been making her excel with her movies, you're there throwing shades. If giving gift is what pulls the crowd, then do it! ...na you go still gain madam" and another said "Toyin, you need to grow out of this subtle shenanigans you're trying to do! We are not babies! We see what's going on, please!"
