Does the end justify the means?
Sacrifices have to be made

Alot of the things we see all around us come from very questionable origins, whether its the phones you are using or even the structure of society. Much of it came through the literal sacrifice of many persons and the perpetual oppression of others, as humans it was obvious that we weren’t going to build something perfect since we are flawed. That raises an important question, does the end justify the means? in simpler terms this question is trying to understand whether a good result is all that matters regardless of the way we take to get there, the most important thing is to be able to get there.
Obviously we would like to use the right means to get to the right results but often times that is very difficult and literally impossible to do.
The way we attained the current state of peace and collaboration in the world came at the back of two world wars which saw millions of casualties, we never know what the world would look like without that, it could be more chaotic or much more peaceful, we can’t tell.
The fact of the matter is that its these tragic events which produce the level of peace we now all benefit from. At a lesser extent, for you to be able to have any form of accomplishment will require a certain level of sacrifice from you, do you achieve that if you aren’t willing to grind and put in the work? I doubt that. I am not going to equate all scenarios and say, “Yeah the end justifies the means”, I think the real question here is whether we should be much more willing to use any means to get to the desired results and I guess depending on the cases this might be true.
Sacrifices have to be made
The hardest part about this is the willingness to do what it takes to get the results we want, for example a parent should be willing to sacrifice their life just working hard and no pleasure in order to guarantee a happy future for their child, especially when this parent received nothing from their own parent. A community should be willing to uplift one person to ensure that their name is carried high but not everyone is ready for this sacrifice, not everyone is ready to do what it takes or bear what this entails so we never get to the results we want. I know I just used some random examples here but it gets worst
It gets worse
As a society, how do we move forward? this can’t be just achieved by everybody doing what they want. It will require for some people to be willing to work harder than others, for some to give up pleasure, others to focus their energy on others etc. There are many innovations and changes which wouldn’t have happened without the selflessness and sacrifice of others. There are so many tragic events which led to a positive outcome in that they showed us what not to do and the way we ought to go.
Conclusion
The end in no way justifies the means used but lets keep in mind that sometimes we would have to make concessions for the sake of progress and moving forward. These might not always be the perfect scenarios for us but the results are going to move us a step further in the right direction even if its by taking a step away from the wrong direction.
