Do You Think It Would Be Good to Have Your First Child?
Here Is the Ideal Age to Have Your First Child
Doctors tell us that the ideal age to have a first child is under 35–40 years, while psychologists advise us to wait until we turn 20–25 years old! This is because, under a certain age, we are not mentally prepared enough for the role of mother, and after a certain age, there may be different difficulties in getting pregnant and different risks in the evolution of pregnancy.
It seems, therefore, that a woman does not have a long period in which it is preferable to become a mother: 10–15 years! But the ideal age to have your first child is not as important as it is! Just because you're below or above this threshold doesn't mean you won't be a good mother, and it doesn't mean you won't have a healthy baby!
Wanting a baby is the most important thing, and here we can talk about the ideal psychological age to have a first child - psychological maturity and the desire to take on new roles - and this is different for every woman: some women are fully psychologically mature at 20 years old, some women need more time!
Another reason why it is not possible to speak in strict terms about the ideal age to have the first child is the need for a partner who is also prepared and wants to take this step. And for couples in which the partners are close in age, the woman will often have to wait until the age of 30, for the partner to reach the threshold of psychological maturation (it is not discrimination, it is a known fact that men mature later).
Thus, the ideal age to have a first child differs from one woman to another and from one couple to another! Instead, what is the same for all is the need for the desire to make this change. If the woman does not feel fully prepared for the role of mother, or her partner is not, a wise decision would be to postpone the pregnancy rather than forcing one of the partners to change her life.
There are reasons why the advice of specialists should be taken into account, because - even if you want a child and you are below or especially above the age threshold, it is good to know the risks. Thus, the ideal age to have a first child is usually considered to be over 25 today, because at this age young people complete their academic training and can enter the field of work for a while.
This fact is also visible in the statistics: while the average age of young people who got married in the years 1980–1990 was about 18–20 years old, today it is around 25 years old or even over! Academic training lasts, and during this time, the young person does not have the necessary resources to start a family.
Insertion in the field of work is also difficult, so until this age few young people take on the responsibilities of a family. Which, of course, made the video an overnight sensation. Why? Because she must feel fulfilled, not have regrets about what a task stopped her from accomplishing. Another reason is that the young woman has to take the time to fulfill her various expectations: many young mothers say with nostalgia "I did not imagine that at this age I will change diapers"!
No matter how much they love their children, they feel sorry for not enjoying life enough as a young person, without great responsibilities. Many young women leave their parents' house directly in their new husband's house and become pregnant without any intermediate stage - to enjoy life on their own, to have fun without caring for anyone else! It may sound superficial, but the young woman mustn't feel such regret!
And another reason why the ideal age to have a first child is over 25 years old is related to external circumstances: as mentioned, the insertion in the field of work is difficult, the career evolution is slow, and young people need the necessary resources to grow. a child: a house, an above-average income.
Ignoring this aspect by saying "we manage" shows irresponsibility and therefore insufficient maturation of partners! A child requires many emotional resources, but also material resources.
Finally, over the age of 25, young couples can be considered stable and strong! Before this threshold, during student life, it is easy to be happy: but the real challenge begins when you move in together when you both work together and form a couple of routines!
You can't think of having a baby while you're not sure about your relationship and the fact that your partner is ready! And, as has been said, it takes longer for men to reach that moment when they can say "yes, I want a baby"!
Now, let's talk about exceeding the ideal age to have your first child: over 35 years old. In this situation, one can no longer talk about the lack of training, achievements, resources, or about the partner and his desires: both are ready. But doctors show us that there are various risks in the evolution of pregnancy.
And first of all, it is more difficult for a woman to get pregnant - especially if she has been taking birth control pills for many years! Therefore, possible risks would be infertility, accumulated fatigue, and the fact that after 30–35 years, health is not as good. The risk of the baby being born with certain problems also increases with age - physical or mental problems.
However, if the woman is cared for, has an active and healthy lifestyle, these risks are small - all is to do a series of tests before pregnancy and during it, the future mother to be permanently under the supervision of a doctor. The highest risks are present in women over 45 years of age.
It is your decision as a couple whether or not you will try after a certain age, however, desire and will overcome any obstacles, as long as you are careful and support each other.
So, the ideal age to have your first child is more of a relative expression, meant to open women's eyes to ask questions: "Am I ready enough?", "Is he ready?", "Do I take any risks?". The most important thing is to make this decision as a couple and enjoy every step in the adventure of becoming a parent!
