Do we need tongues in photos?
Trend to leave in 2020

Can we leave the tongue trend in 2020?
It’s a pose I remember seeing in photos from the old days of Rock and Roll. I was never a part of the Rock and Roll world myself, it is a popular culture to be a part of. a whole genre of music, with its own style and image. to be Rock and Roll means to be badass and ready for a wild fun time and make no mistake, this tongue trend is right up that alley so I totally understand why it is a part of the culture.

I don’t know how it made a come back but I think the tongue needs to go back. Go back or at least more importantly end with 2020.
If you are indeed an artist or an influencer and want to suggest that you’re a bit into the tongue pleasing end of life or that perhaps you like to lick random things, like the odd kid in school who eats things for attention, then that’s great for the image you are trying to portray, I’m sure. However, for a regular picture with the family or out with a group of friends I just don’t see the appeal of wanting a flashback of your tongue in the photo.

Yes sure oral pleasure is a thing (and a great thing at that), but its just not for everyone to be promoting. When I see Grandmothers and children doing this I think it’s just NOT cute. What is the excitement to be had from showing people your tongue? I remember back in the days it was like a middle finger in a childish way to stick out your tongue and say, "nanny-nanny-boo-boo". But the way the tongue stinking out it done by the young ones now is just not it.
The only functional places I see an outstretched tongue being used by humans is in pornography movies. When I see a photo of someone with that pose outside of the porn environment, all I remember is an image of a tongue awaiting or proudly showing the facial they received from finishing an explicit act. Or it reminds me of someone tantalizing another with the idea of what the tongue might do for them.

The other place I think an outstretched tongue may be attributed to, is possibly a lizard or snake. A slithery, slimy, wet & uncomfortable association, and since when have those ever been something positive? As we usually associate these creatures with being creepy and dishonest.
'To each is own' as they say. I wonder what the perspective of others may be on this topic. I wonder if it is because I’m approaching old age and maybe a bit jaded or conservative in my life perspectives why I cannot vibe with this one. Who knows, possibly to others, a stuck out tongue may be just as innocent as doing the peace sign in pictures. Either way, thats not what I see when the tongue comes out, and I’m sure I’m not alone on this one.
An outstretched tongue is not pretty or attractive. Unless a person is thinking of either hiding their true face, (which is basically what happens when your face is stretched out and the tongue is taking up the lower half), or stating an image of themselves to the world that you are less that sanitary; its unecessary.
Is this considered a fashion trend? To some extent I believe it is, its an accessory which some try to make their calling sign and can't go a day without it their tongue hanging out like a thirsty dog on a summer day. It makes a statement about what image a person is representing and how they are feeling at that moment.
Not to be judge or out of tune with the younger generations but its not a fashion trend we need. Agreed?
All in all, bottomline is, it's gross to kep your tongue sticking out. So, please just stop. Let us end the sticking out the tongue trend in 2020, and keep this tongue trend in history!
