Death Angel or Angel of Light: Which will you hearken to?
The afterlife can beckon from Heaven or from Satan.

The death angel is stalking
I tell my stories because they are true, whether you believe or not. My beliefs come from the Christian faith in Jesus Christ and the Bible.
After a recent conversation with a close friend, I decided to share our tales of telling the death angel to go away. We believe that if he does not claim you or yours, he claims a victim somewhere else. Here is why.
I have probably written about this before somewhere on the Internet. After writing several thousand articles across platforms, it becomes difficult to recall each one.
My story begins in May of 2012. I was not able to sleep and I finally dozed off at around 3 a.m., only to wake at 4:30, and I sensed something was wrong and began praying.
Preparing to meet your maker
As I walked passed my son's room around 7:30 a.m., he was up and vacuuming his carpet. When I walked past a little later, he was stacking his shoes in pairs around the wall, and I became alarmed in my spirit.
I grew up hearing tales of people who got everything straight in their homes before they died, and I had watched my grandmother do this. One day in January 2010, I saw her put her winter coat in a clear plastic bag and hang it on her bedroom door.
She next zipped the coat up in a black garment bag, zipped it, and smoothed the bag with her hands. Later in the day, she removed the jewelry from her dresser and placed it in a box, and put it inside a drawer.
A week later, she was hospitalized. On February 2, my son and I visited her at night. She asked if her check had come and if I had paid her bills. I said yes, and the next morning she died. When various people died just before the first of the month, Grandma would say the family would not get their final pension check.
My grandmother had put her winter coat away in January because she knew she would not need it where she was going, and she held on until she knew we would get her check.

Death attempts to take a family member
Watching my son meticulously place his shoes, on this day I felt it meant something spiritual. I called my good friend Gail and asked her to pray in agreement with me because I could feel death was stalking for a victim and he would not take any of my family.
I fell on my knees in front of the living room couch and prayed for every family member I could think of, asking God to keep the death angel away. Later in the day, I realized I had not prayed for my husband's oldest living brother.
I thought it strange his name did not come to mind but I did not feel an unction to pray for him. At 8:00 that night, we received a call that my brother-in-law, who was a bodybuilder, ate healthy and took supplements, had died of a heart attack.
Death claimed a victim in the family, but it was not any of the people I prayed for. For a while, I felt guilt, but now I realize the Lord did not allow me to recall my brother-in-law's name because He had decided to allow him to leave us that night. Also, adults are rsponsi9ble for their own relationships with the Lord so I knew I was not to blame for his death.
Death takes a hike
On another occasion, my husband was really sick and I told death to take a hike. A few days later, a young male cousin of his died after an accident involving machinery at his job. On a third occasion, I felt death lurking, and I began interceding, and again, a few days later, a different male in the Preston family passed away.
I asked the Lord if all of this was a coincidence. Had I really prayed away the death angel, and was he required to and allowed to take a different male victim from my husband's family?
Some years later, my youngest brother came to visit, and as we were talking, I began to experience an overwhelming sorrow. I wanted to grab him and hug him and say I love you but I restrained myself.
I went into the house crying and told my husband that death was stalking again, and please pray that my brother would be spared. I shared the same thing with our three children, and three days later, my brother's sister-in-law, who was in a coma, passed away.

A sighting of the death angel
My opinion about death claiming a victim was strengthened by a story from a close friend. A young man I consider a son. A few years ago, he was hospitalized with double pneumonia. His temperature went to 103, and doctors said he was at risk for a heart attack.
He said one morning he saw a figure clad in black walk to the door of his room. He perceived it was the death angel and said, "Get the hell out of here, I'm not dying today."
The spirit obeyed and walked down the hall. Immediately, my friend said he began feeling better, but soon after, he was told some disturbing news. Down the hall in the direction the death spirit had walked, someone else had died.
Visitors from heaven
Is death required to take an alternative victim when people who are strong in their faith in Jesus send him away? I cannot prove this to be true, but these stories suggest it is.
The day before my husband's death in 2021, at around 2:30 p.m. the room lit up the way it does when the sun comes from beneath the clouds, and I felt incredible peace and joy. It was the same experience I had in churches when the presence of the Lord was strong.
I knew someone from heaven had come to usher him home. I thought to myself, "They're here. They've come for Michael." Out loud I screamed, "Please don't take him, heaven can wait, I need more time." I was granted 23 additional hours.
The next day, as my husband slept, he woke around 1:00 p.m. and sat up for the first time in weeks. He looked toward the window as if he saw someone, and he seemed to be trying to get up. He lay back down and became very quiet and peaceful. At 1:30 he peacefully slipped away as he slept. No fighting or labored breathing as I obsered with others before the died.

Who is calling, God or Satan?
I share these stories for others who have experienced similar events with loved ones. I believe Satan can attempt to take you out of this world before your time, and that prayer can stop premature death.
The Lord sends his heavenly host to escort you when you belong to Him, and when it's your time to go, it's peaceful and heaven does not wait. I have many stories of people who saw deceased loved ones or heard heavenly music before they passed, and they went with joy.
Some say the dark death angel who looks like the Ghost of Christmas yet to Come in A Christmas Carol is Satan attempting to take you before your time. Heavenly escorts are not scary and I have not heard of anyone refusing them.

Very interesting take on the subject matter. I lost my 52 year old son in September while he was having surgery to repair a torn aorta. I found great comfort in knowing: God never left his side, that God loved him so much that he couldn't bear for him to suffer the days anymore in this earthly sphere, that he had fulfilled his time on earth with love, patience, and kindness, and God took him peacefully under anesthesia. My son now lives in Heaven and what can I do but to be grateful? My job on this earth is to pray for all my family and friends who do not yet accept Jesus and to lean into God's promises. I think this is what you are saying, too.
