My name is Jessica and I'm a short thin build with chocolate straight long hair and brown eyes. My skin is flawless and I wear make-up that compliments my skin tone which is olive. Tonight is my first date night with the handsome dreamy guy of my dreams whom I met in high school a few years back. He was popular and I guess a little out of my league. We reconnected through a dating site online called hushbaby.com. I am excited and nervous at the same time.
Brad; the man of my dreams has olive skin and black slick hair with brown eyes. His smile melts my heart. I hope that he hasn't changed that much over the few years we've lost touch. We had the same circle of friends and I still keep in touch with most of them. I wonder if he does too; guess I will find out over dinner tonight.
Mum had given me a gift voucher to spend at our local Bree's Foot Massage and Pedicure Palace in town. I have since got back home from having the foot massage and pedicure done; now my nails look super stunning in glittery pink gloss nail polish. Pink is one of my favourite colours and I will be wearing a black dress fitted with a sweetheart lace bodice which has slim straps and a full low-high skirt. The dress has an exposed back zipper and pockets. I will also be wearing formal black shiny high heels and my hair will be done up in a high bun with a braid.
I am super excited about tonight; nails done, hair done, legs shaved, make up done, sparkling dainty earrings on. Brad is going to be blown away with my looks; I just know it. I hear mum downstairs talking distinctively and start making my down the wooden stairs with my left hand running along the wooden smooth lacquered railing with every step I take till I reach the bottom. Brad looks up at me and my eyes meet him as I grin continuously.
"You look super stunning in that dress." Brad's excited and calming voice tells me.
I blush a little as I know that I look gorgeous in this outfit and I went through hours of planning to make this work. Brad is wearing a black tuxedo but it doesn't really matter what he wears because he will always be perfect in my eyes. I give him a nod "you also look as handsome as ever." I compliment him happily.
Brad smiles and I say goodnight to mum as we head out the door with arms locked together like glue. Brad escorts me over to his car; around the passenger side and opens the passenger side door for me like a gentleman. I slip inside and sit on the passenger seat and he shuts the passenger side door as I slip on my safety belt. We head over to the restaurant he has chosen for us to dine at. On our way there; he puts on a disc of love songs and looks at me with a smile "your thoughts?" he asks happily.
I give him a nod "looking to relax me are you?" I reply with a question.
Brad nods "something like that." he says as he looks back at the road.
I laugh as I see the nervousness in his body language. No other guy would admit to liking romantic songs; but then again, Brad isn't any other guy. We arrive at Ocean View restaurant and Brad leads me inside with his arm locked in mine; we head in through the double electric doors and search for our seats. The floor is layered with a dark purple background and a design of light purple swirls which give the carpet a nice look and texture. The lighting is good, warm, and inviting. The tables are wooden with white paint and trimmings of lilac while the chairs are a booth-style seat with purple cushioning. We sit down at our table that has a sign stating that it is reserved for Peterson which is Brad's last name. Brad looks over at me smiling and I look at him with a smile that is yet to leave my face but won't because of how happy and excited I am to be here with him.
"What do you think about the place?" Brad asks happily in a curious voice.
I nod "it is lovely." I reply in appreciation of the room which is full of customers eating and talking distinctively.
Brad nods and grabs the menus; he passes me one and I start browsing through it to see what I would like for dinner. Brad has already decided what he wants for dinner and what drink we will be sharing with our meals. A waiter wearing a white apron who is thinly built with a mustache and black short hair walks over towards us with a grin on his face and asks us what we would like to order. Brad puts down his menu and looks at the man with a smile "I will take the beef steak with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and red wine sauce, plus we will have Gibson Merlot as our drink please." he says politely.
The waiter nods "and for the madam?" he asks politely.
I look at the waiter with a smile as I keep my index finger highlighting the food item I want for dinner "yes sir, I would like to have the pork chops with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and ginger barbeque sauce please." I say politely.
The waiter nods as he jots everything down in his little pocket notebook "your meals won't be long." he says politely and walks away.
I guess I am in for a treat since Brad ordered wine; I have never had wine before. Brad looks at me and my eyes meet his as he reaches across the table to grab my hands and hold them in his "how was your day?" he asks in a charming voice.
I work in a bookstore, so there isn't really much to tell there, nothing exciting happens in my place of work. I look at him with a polite smile "nothing much exciting happens in my place of work, people come and people go. They either browse and leave once finished looking or they buy a book or two and then leave. In other words, my work is slow but good." I say honestly.
Brad nods like he is listening to every word I say to him, so I ask him "how was your day?" in a curious voice.
"Busy, someone had an accident at work today, so had to fill in for him," Brad replies truthfully.
I nod as I understand that being a construction worker; it is natural for accidents to happen in that line of work. The waiter walks back towards us with a bottle of Gibson Merlot and Brad smiles happily when he sees the bottle of red wine. I see him pop off the bottle top and pour himself and me a glass of Merlot; I see him hold his glass up to his nose to smell the aromas as he swishes the wine around in the glass and breathes in. I look at him with a confused expression; he catches onto my expression as I sit there thinking that you just drink it, not play with it and then drink it. He smiles at me "swirling the wine in a glass releases the different flavours and your nose practically tastes the hundred different aromas from the wine without the wine touching your lips. Give it a go." he says to me with enthusiasm.
I shake my head to refuse as it just seems too weird and embarrassing to smell a drink; however, I do swirl it around and take a sip of the beverage. Brad watches me with eagerness "what do you think of the wine?" he asks politely.
I nod and reply "I can taste the fruits, the cherries, the plums, and the raspberries... but, it is dry, not very sweet like it smells."
Brad nods and smiles at me again; he raises his glass and says cheers to me, so I raise my glass and gently tap his glass with mine as I say cheers back to him. Merlot is like a compliment to our meals and after dinner; Brad drives me back home. He leads me back up to my front door and I turn around to stand face to face with him as we both smile and our eyes lock on to one another. "I am glad that you haven't changed much, getting older, but that's it. I also had a good time with you tonight, dinner was great and the wine was lovely." I say politely.
brad nods and grins at me "I am glad you haven't changed much too, I am also glad that you enjoyed yourself tonight. I had a great time also, and I would love to do it again soon." he says honestly.
I nod "I would like that." I say happily.
Brad smiles and kisses me with a passionate kiss that makes me weak at my knees; he looks at me with a grin "good night Jessica." he says as our hands part ways.
I nod and watch him walk away "goodbye," I say and then wave as he leaves.
I walk inside feeling happy like I am on top of the world and no one, and nothing can bring me down. I feel the butterflies in my stomach and the sweet taste on my lips; I grin as I rest my back against the door and run my fingertips along my lips as I remember the touch, taste, and softness of his lips kissing mine, it was like falling in love for the first time, or maybe it is just waking up an old flame in me that wasn't explored years ago but I am still happy and can't wait to go out with him again on our next date.
The end.
