Communicate with me!

Let's talk real shit

They look like they're talking real deep.

To me, communication is SO important. But I get it. It can be so damn hard. Especially those times, where you need to be clearly communicating, it seems that all you can do is focus on not exploding, or not saying the wrong thing, or not starting to ball your eyes out... But this, this is the communication that we all need. We need it with our partners and lovers, our siblings, and friends and of course (the most difficult one I think) our parents.

There are different types and levels of communication. Here, I'm referring to one specific type. That raw, in your belly, truth-be-told type. The one that makes you shake with fear, makes you nauseous and quite frankly the one we most seem to avoid. Whether we don't want the image we have created of ourselves to change, or we're stuck in a negative pattern that holds us back from speaking, these are the chances to really use the power of personal voice. When we express ourselves and we choose to let go of fear, expectations and judgement. We allow ourselves freedom and empowerment.

"What if I say something stupid, or something that I'll regret?" Those are some of the thoughts that come up and hold us from speaking. And we all have been there and done it ourselves. Said something and then spent the rest of the day just analyzing it over and over again. Or how about this situation...Where you're so heated you speak up and end up verbally abusing the person in front of you? Lol ya, ooops. It was totally unintentionally, but you just couldn't hold it in anymore! Again, something that we have most definitely experienced once.

These are such important moments of communication. They can teach us so damn much. Yet we tend to only look at these moments through negativity. And this ultimately leads to us not expressing ourselves once again. However, we can take those not-so-pretty moments and learn to look at them through the right lens. Here we can observe our words, from a place of no judgement, no fear, no shame. We understand why we said what we said, and the reason behind how we said it as well. It's a learning moment. That moment of brief reflection, a short and sweet moment that helps us come back to our balanced self. A place where we know everyone makes mistakes, and everyone is perfectly imperfect.

Now we need to seize that moment, and this is where the true communication comes in. The one that gives me those ASMR tingles. The real shit. This is where we go back and speak up. We acknowledge our boundaries, our triggers, our internal fears. We learn to communicate our personal needs and in return, we gain personal power and respect. This is the communication that strengthens relationships, that shows us we are deeper than just emotions. We gain a profound understanding of not only the relationship, but ultimately ourselves. After all, it's so much easier to communicate when you clearly know what your own needs and boundaries are. And yes, sometimes we can't just simply go back to the person to talk it out, but you can always have that internal conversation with yourself. In the end, we talk to ourselves the most, don't we?

So, set out to be that powerful communicator. Build yourself up through your relationships. Listen, to yourself and others. Don't overshadow your situations. Goal is to understand, to recognize it in a simple way. And to purely express your true self.
