There once was a time when magic was well known. A place where everyone got along and embraced the differences of others. The king of the land was of the human race for the last fifty years. He was kind to all his subjects and treated everyone fairly. Except for two people, his daughters. He treated them as if they were the gods above. So if it was known that someone had hurt them, the king would put them on trial.
Over the years the king’s daughters grew up to be two beautiful women. The eldest of the two was married off to a human prince from a different land. The prince’s land was a poor one, but with the knowledge of the eldest daughter, they were able to struggle out of poverty.
The youngest daughter was the king’s most adored child. She resembled the late queen, her mother. This child was kind and her heart was made of gold. Nobody dared mess with her and she earned the respect of her kingdom at a very young age. As she grew older the king promised that no matter what, she would become queen.
Once the youngest became of age to take the throne, the king began searching for a good suitor. He was able to find an elven prince who fell in love with the princess, and she him. Two days before the wedding the youngest princess went missing.
Nobody knows where she disappeared to. Everyone knew that she didn’t get cold feet. The princess loved the elven prince. Some people, needing someone to blame, assumed that the beast race took her.
The beast race was well known for their greed. They can use their magic to transform into their beast or human forms. But the human form always have a feature from their beast counterpart present. It could range from very easy to impossible to tell the difference. The beast race had a king of their own. He has been their king for over two thousand years. Beasts knew why that was but it was lost to human knowledge over the years.
Two days had passed and it was the day of the royal wedding. The princess was found walking towards the castle as the sun rose. She was asked what had happened to her over a hundred times. All she could respond with was “I don’t know.”
The princess didn’t know what happened the past two days. There was no recollection of anything that had occured over the past two days and it frightened her slightly, though not letting it bother her. She returned the same way she did when she left. She wore the same clothes and had no dirt on her at all. So after all the questions the princess was quickly rushed to get ready for the wedding.
Everyone from the kingdom joined the royal festivities and nothing went wrong that day.
Two months later the princess was crowned queen. At the same time the king stepped down from the throne, the new king, the elfe, and the new queen, the daughter, announced a pregnancy.
Everyone was so excited for the new couple and waited to hear the good news. The elf king’s parents had come to visit as soon as they heard the news. They cast a spell on the unborn child using the limited known magics of life. The spell was to keep all harm from the child for as long as they had a good heart.
Month after month passed and the king and queen were in the delivery room holding a small bundle.A warm pink blanket held a little baby girl, having her father’s pale skin and pointed ears. The small royal child had her mother’s strawberry blond hair and the family’s red eyes.
On the small child’s back were two scars that could be covered up easily by any clothing that she would wear. These small scars were only known about by her parents and the select few staff members that worked with the small princess. The baby never cried out unless needing something, even then only giving a small grunt or two, and never misbehaved. She even had a small magical sense emanate from her.
Years passed and the magic within the young princess grew stronger with each passing moment. By the age of five, she had learned all basic spells. At the age of seven, she figured out how to scry and teleport long distances. She learned every element spell before she turned eleven.
The young princess used her magic to help the people of her kingdom. Just like her mother, she had gained the respect of her people at a very young age. The people of the kingdom talked about how the princess’s magic would surpass the gods.
The former king took his time, making sure to spoil his granddaughter as much as he could. He was over the moon when he found out how beautiful she was.
Years passed and the young princess was going to turn sixteen this year. Her magic had grown so strong that she could be labeled as a head mage, one of the most powerful people in the world. It would be very risky to become a head mage and so the young princess declined every time she was offered the title. Though her magic still grows to this day.
