It all started on January 12th, 2019. Me and my husband were both active duty Marines at the time. We got stationed apart officially the day we found out that we would be parents in about 9 months. You see this wasn't our orginal plan, we were going to try for children after I finished my contract.

Fast forward through my pregnancy, I puked every single day, ending up losing about 20 lbs until the middle of 3rd Trimester. Around 34 weeks I was put in the hospital with a terrible kidney infection and there was talk of an emergency c-section. Lucky, I was discharged with strict orders to not over do it.

My husband got back in the states 2 weeks before the birth in case our son came early. Lucky he didn't but I did getting induced on January 12th. I came in at about 9 am to start the process. Honestly, the contractions didn't hurt at all, but the back labor was not it.

To make my labor worse my in-laws were in the room, which I didn't want at all. My MIL was honestly rude the whole time like she didn't get an epidural with both children. I was determined to do with birth natural and I'm honestly mad I didn't get to. I was forced to 4 cm which was again not a great time and I don't recommend it.

After about 17 hours of laboring naturally my husband begged me to get the epidural. I was mad but the tears in his eyes from watching me die in pain broke my heart. I agreed, they of course missed the first time and had to do it again. I finally got some relief and was able to sleep. They ended up turning down the pitocin due to my son's heartbeat dropping several times when they turned it up.

Around seven in the morning, the doctor came in to talk options and suggested a c section to avoid an emergency one. I agreed and before long was in the OR strapped out like I was about to be crucified. No one tells you about how the medication they give you make you shake like your having a seizure.

With a doctor at my head, they start cutting me, the doctor at my head let me know I should only feel pressure and he was correct there was pressure and it felt funny, However everything was about to turn into a nightmare.

I started to feel a burning sensation but it wasn't bad so I thought nothing of it. But about a minute in it got extremely worse, I looked at the doctor at my head and said "umm doc I can feel that" the doctor was like "feel what?" At this point it was becoming worse and I was struggling to stay still on the OR table. I again told the doctor that I could feel them cutting into me and it was burning. It was like a smoldering rod being slowly dragged across my abdomen.

They stopped cutting immediately and the doctor at my head told me he could give me something but it would make me fuzzy. Tears were coming out of my eyes involuntarily and I told him I didn't care. What the doctor at my head gave me didn't exactly take away my pain just made me so high I didn't care that I had any.

I'm not sure how long after that but my son was pushed into the world and the screen keeping me from seeing was dropped. He was a beautiful baby and a moment that I didn't get to savor due to being high.
