My sun sign is Aquarius.
When I was younger a lady told me that in her opinion, all Aquarians were wacky hippies. I didn't think I fit that description, so I became curious about my sun sign and why people thought that.
It turn out that the hippies of the 1960's sort of embodied the free spiritedness of the sign. The movie "Hair" was also produced in the era, featuring the famous song "Age Of Aquarius". As a result, the sign has received somewhat of a kooky or weird feature.
A person's sun sign mostly indicates the personal drive and motivation. As an Aquarius, I find that I do embody some of the main characteristics indicated by my sun sign. I tend to be analytical, rational, and objective. These things usually predict a sort of coldness, or coolness, but I’m honestly a really warm hearted person.
The beauty of it is that I can detach emotionally when objectivity is needed. Where this is helpful is when I deal with upset or impassioned people. I can remain calm and speak easily with them on their level, by stepping back from the emotion and offering solutions. This works well, even if the solution is to just offer comfort, because sometimes people need that before anything else. Some people need a hug while others just need someone to sit with quietly and commiserate. So, sometimes the coolness and detachment are not about coldness at all, but more akin to soothing and calmness.
As a person of logic, I do very well at my job, in information security. I’m a forward thinker who loves technology, and all things related to ideas, and facts. I love things that are consistent, that get results, that have a beginning and an end. This part of my personality tends to make me seem like a “know-it-all”, and I’ve been called that, but that isn’t how I mean it. I just love to share the things I learn. To me, it’s exciting to share knowledge and especially to exchange ideas!
I dislike wasting time, so when I do something repetitive, I automatically begin to streamline the processes. It helps cut down on time spent at some activities that are less pleasant. On the flip side of that, I tend to multitask everything, which sometimes backfires. I lose track of two of the five things I was trying to accomplish, then have to explain that later. I think it gives people the impression that I’m flighty, or dumb, when really I am just super busy!
That is another Aquarius quality, being very energetic! I have always been active, and I’m always thinking. Sometimes I have trouble sleeping because I can’t shut down. I’m also creative. I like to draw, paint, design odd things, sew, write, you name it!
Aquarius is notably a humanitarian and group champion, but I don’t see myself that way. Not that I lack compassion or the will to assist in humanitarian efforts, I just mostly concentrate on my personal circle. Family, friends and groups I support. I rarely support effort or cause that I can’t walk into and check out personally. If I do that, it’s a one-off.
I suppose, too, that I fall under the humanitarian role as a person who likes fairness, honesty, and justice. Although if I find that I’m the one being cheated, I can make up my mind not to be honest or tolerant of whatever things come my way there.
One of the key ways that I think I embody the Aquarius sign is in embracing individuality. My own and that of others. I like to share similar ideals with the people I interact with, but I also want to be my own person, and let others be who they are. Sometimes that is the easiest thing in the world to do, and other times, it’s one of the hardest. While I enjoy similarities, I also enjoy uniqueness.
All in all, it depends on how pure the resource is that you get your information from, as to how closely anyone will resemble their sun sign. There are a lot of things in a person’s chart that can alter the ways the attributes manifest too.
Considering all that I’ve stated here, I really do think my drive and my daily interactions are representative of my astrological sign, Aquarius.
