Apple Watch Series 8

During an Apple event, the Apple Watch Series 8 & Apple Watch Ultra was introduced with a new body temperature sensor, crash detection, and more. Here's everything new about Watch Series 8.

The new Apple Watch Series 8 is called the "best flagship Apple has ever created," and you can see why by looking at all the stats and technology inside.

There is no doubt that it will debut in September along with the all-new iPhone 15, but the next model will likely offer only modest upgrades.

In other words, if you're looking for a new watch right now, Apple Watch Series 8 might be the best option for you.

APPLE WATCH SERIES 8: DISPLAY

There will be a 41mm and 45mm display option with a 1,000 nit Always-On Retina display on Series 8. The Watch display is described as an OLED by Apple, a needlessly complicated feature that most people won't care about.

It is a technology designed and patented by Apple that aims to reduce the power consumption of your watch display by changing its refresh rate. Similarly to other Apple Watch models, the Apple Watch's screen is vibrant and uses deep, inky blacks as well.

APPLE WATCH SERIES 8: NEW FEATURES

According to Apple, the Series 8 Apple Watch is equipped with a body temperature sensor that allows it to provide "further insights into people health." By integrating two sensors, bias from the body as well as the environment is reduced

Apple Watch Series 8 now has a temperature sensor. It measures your wrist temperature every five seconds during sleep to detect a 0.1 degree Celsius change in your body temperature. Due to the two sensors placed on the back of the watch series 8, near the skin, and under the display, the watch is highly sensitive. This helps eliminate interference from the outside environment.

The temperature sensor will improve the cycle-tracking feature of Apple Watches by letting wearers know if their cycle is deviating as well as improving ovulation tracking. The data collected by Cycle tracking is encrypted right on the device, so that it can be kept private.

Crash detection

An Apple Watch Series 8 can tell if you have crashed thanks to two new sensors a three-axis gyroscope and a G-Force accelerometer.

The Crash Detection feature on your iPhone uses many sensors to determine if you've been involved in a serious crash. These sensors include barometers, GPS, and microphones.

It should prevent the Apple Watch from misdiagnosing a simple drop of water.

If you don't respond within 10 seconds to the on-screen notification, the Series 8 automatically calls the Emergency Helpline Number, provides your location, and notifies your emergency contacts.

As well as these new features, Apple Watch Series 8 retains many excellent features of previous models, such as ECG, fall detection, and Always-On Retina displays.

APPLE WATCH SERIES 8: BATTERY LIFE

If you use the Apple Watch Series 8 as you would the previous model, the battery life is the same. In this wearable device, there's also a low-power mode to save battery life.

Using the low-power mode, you can get up to 36 hours of battery life with your iPhone present. Low-power mode offers much more functionality than the Apple Watch Series 7, but it comes with limitations as well. Several sensors and features will be disabled and/or limited, including the Always-On display and notifications related to heart health.

From watchOS 9 onward, Apple Watch models with low-power modes will also be available.

APPLE WATCH SERIES 8: FINISHES AND COLORS

It comes in two finishes: aluminum and stainless steel, both of which have different color options. As for the stainless steel finish, it comes in Silver, Gold, and Graphite, while the aluminum finish comes in Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and PRODUCT(RED).
