There are "Angels among us*

My mom was having a bad day (she takes care of my dad-who has stage 4 lung cancer). It is very difficult for her, she has to lift him, consistently. He had a stroke and cannot walk, or move his left side. On this particular day-he was in severe pain, and verbally abusive. He was yelling at her, and made her feel bad.

They are on social security, and his naval retirement. She has to be very careful with her money. She made a list out of things she needed. She also had a prescription ready at Walgreens, so she decided to go there and get the things off her list.

My husband agreed to watch my dad, so she could go. She got into her car, and the tire pressure light was on. She was extremely stressed out.

She got to Walgreens, and went to get her prescription. Then she proceeded to get the things on her list, she was being very careful not to spend too much money. She proceeded to get in line, there were several people ahead of her. The cashier started checking her out, and said have a good day. She was confused because she did not pay. She asked how much did she owe? The cashier told her the lady ahead of her paid agreed to pay for her ENTIRE order. The lady said yes, I will pay-don't worry about it. My mom asked her why? She said she wanted to help brighten somebody's day. My mom than burst into tears, thanking her over and over again.

This "angel" had no idea how she made my moms day. She never met her or knew anything about her-and it was such a generous thing she did. Without knowing, she restored faith in people in general. I believe in Karma and just know that she will be rewarded for her actions that day.

After that day, I try to make someone smile once a week. Whether it be, paying for somebody's coffee, paying for their groceries, donating to charity, baking cookies for the office, or just showing people that I care. Humanity does not have to be a thing of the past, we can make the world a better place by being kind, and not judging people-after all we do not know everybody's story.

I think of this angel often, I am grateful that she crossed paths with my mom that day. My mom talks about this a lot, I think it affected her in such a positive way.

I think if everyone in the world, were capable of compassion, and would take the time out of their busy day to make others happy-the world would be a better place.

The world would be a better place, if we checked on our neighbors, cared about people more, and just in general wanted to help. There are so many ways to help others. Let us care about other people, not just ourselves. At the end of the day-we are all human and we all have feelings..
