An Ode to Humans - Slice 2
'The Journey' a Yashi G poetry series
Humans! Oh they make me laugh like no other,
A truly funny people they are;
For as they emerge from the womb of the mother,
They seem to forget they are but fallen stars.
Stumbling over and imitating one another,
Stuck in a cycle of peace and war,
A cycle created by humans before them,
Humans who were lost themselves and really, what for?
Having forgotten their true purpose here,
They keep on searching and are unable to find,
The truth within and all around them,
For they may have eyes, but they’re truly blind;
Blind lights unaware of their own life force,
So they lead and they’re led - foolishly following course,
Oh silly, silly human, can’t you see?
You live like you have limits when really you are free!
You’re free to unlearn, then unearth, then unleash ——
The Wisdom you have been guarding so well,
That at first it’s even out of the reach of its own sentinel;
It’s patiently waiting to reveal itself and surrender,
While you flail helplessly and let your thoughts pull you under,
It’s patiently waiting for you to stop drowning in your mind,
As you learn to witness the Self and step away from the grind.
As you learn to be curious once again,
As once again you give in to trust,
As you allow emotions to sweep you over yet not sway ——
your energy core and the fluttering organ in your bust;
As you recognize that fear is nothing to be afraid of,
For it dwells in the monkey mind we left behind,
And when self-doubt and self-pity become mere illusions,
That’s when this mystical Wisdom you will find.
Humans! Oh, they drive me wild with hope,
For even in their thoughtless wonders,
There were some who ascended this slippery slope,
The slope that spirals up into silent thunders,
Into the place where your mind is still like water,
Into the plane where all dimensions exist as one,
So live like you are consciousness itself, my daughter,
Live as if you are the first one here, my son.
