Always Show Concern To Issues That Affect Other People by Blessing chibike

CHAPTER 1
‎Dede was an indigene of a village called Arota. Arota village was a very happy one. The people Loved and Care for One another. They were l rich,but they were very hardworking.
‎Their only occupation and source of livelihood was farming and this they did relentlessly.
‎

Whatever they harvested every year, they thanked GOD for.
‎Those that had bountiful harvest happily shared some of their crops with those who didn't and those who have bountiful harvest were very grateful to those who shared with them.
‎Life in Arota was very pleasant. They all bore one another's burden. One person's joy and one person's pain was everyone's pain. They all cared for one another but Dede was a very different from that others.
‎He was one of the few people that normally had bountiful harvest and that was because he was very lucky to have inherited a very vast and fertile farmland from his late father. On this farm, Dede cultivated different kinds of crops during planting season and during harvest season, he harvested bountifully but he never shared whatever he had with anyone.
‎

Whenever people begged him for food,he usually told them that whatever he had was for him alone and that it wasn't his fault that they were so lazy that they could not work hard and have bountiful harvest like he did. Dede called them lazy but they were not lazy. In fact,many of them were more hardworking than he was,he was just lucky to always have bountiful harvest.
‎Apart from not sharing his harvested crops with anyone,Dede had another bad character.He never showed interest or concern in issues that affect other people. He always believed that everyone should mind his or her business.
‎"Deal with whatever happens to you without involving me.i will also deal with whatever happens to me without involving anyone". Dede usually said to people.
‎

One day,an emergency meeting of every adult in Arota was called and when they all assembled,it was discovered that the daughter of a particular man had been very sick and needed urgent medical attention in a hospital in a town far from Arota.
‎The girl's father begged everyone to assist him.
‎"Please my people,i beg you,i don't want my daughter to die.i have spent everything i have, buying drugs for her but her condition seems to be worsening. I learnt the only place i can get help is at the hospital in town ". The girl's father cried and begged.
‎People pitied the man and his daughter.there and then,, everyone began to donate money to him.some who had no money on them ran to their houses and got money. Some even borrowed from other people and promised to pay back very soon. No matter how little, everyone, except Dede donated something. Dede vehemently refused to donate.
‎"Solve your problem without involving me and i will solve my problem without involving anyone". Dede said to the man as he stood up and walk away.
‎

The villagers were very angry at Dede.they called him a very wicked man but he didn't care.
‎They reminded him that he might need help someday and he told them he would never need help from any of them because he had all he needed and wanted.
‎The man took his daughter to the hospital and afome days,she became okay and they returned to Arota. The man thanked the villagers immensely and they rejoiced with him on his daughter's health.

‎CHAPTER
‎Few months later, one rainy day,Dede came out of his house and saw that his neighbour's poultry house was open and water was entering into it. He looked closely and discovered that his neighbour's chicken were all soaked with water. He didn't even make any attempt to close the poultry house. He just stood and watched the chickens as they shivered in Cold.
‎After a while, his neighbour returned and saw his poultry house open. He rushed to close it but discovered that almost all his chickens had died of Cold. He wept bitterly.when he ask Dede why he didn't help him close the poultry house, Dede told him that the poultry was not his business.
‎"I have no business with your poultry.if you have a problem, solve it without involving me". He said to the man.
‎

There was another day another of his neighbour had a very serious accident while working in his farm.The man fell from a tall tree he climbed to cut some palmnuts. The fall was so severe that his neck and arm got broken.some people who were also working on their farms saw him, rescued him and carried him to his house were some drugs were administrated to him.
‎Again, everyone in the village visited the man except Dede. He was not even concerned. People kept telling him that one day,he would need help but wouldn't get because he never rendered help to anyone but he refused to listen to them.  He continued that day till one day.
‎

CHAPTER 3

was hamattan season and almost every tree,leaf and plant had become very dried, Dede was still in the bed,he covered himself with a thick blanket because of the Cold from the hamattan.
‎As he was sleeping soundly,he heard people screaming and running towards their farms.
‎"This ole won't let me enjoy my sleep. I am sure they have been involved In one problem or the other. They are so unlucky and unfortunate human beings but that is their business.let me enjoy myself." He said to himself and slept off again.
‎By the time he woke up hours later,he was surprised at the news he heard around the village.without anybody's knowledge,fire had erupted from the farm of one of the villagers and because every plant was dry,it was easy for the fire to spread.

‎People got news of the fire and everyone ran down to their farms.with combined efforts, they were able to put off their fire in their farms.they helped each other and in no time, the fire was off and luckily,not much of their crops was affected but nobody put off the fire in Dede's farm.they remembered what he usually said to them so they allowed him solve his problem without involving them.
‎When Dede heard what was happening in his farm, he ran to his farm but by the time he got there,the fire had almost consumed everything he had.He cried sorrowfully.He called people to help him but but they told him to solve his problem without involving anyone.He tried to put off the fire but he couldn't and in the process, his body got severally burnt.
‎

He watched as everything in his farm burnt to ashes. He managed to get to his house and with the money he had,he bought medication rom the village clinic for his burnt body. It took him several weeks of pain to recover from the burn. He spent all the money he had in reating himself because the burn was severe.
‎Dede was in deep sorrow. He had no one to help him, he had no money and worst of all,he had nothing in his farm. Nobody  ympathized with him, nobody helped him, nobody visited him cause of his bad character and because of his burnt body,he couldn't even farm anymore. He became very poor, hungry and lonely. He lived in regret. Everyone that heard his story said he got what he deserved.
