A Tenet Movie Review: Some Parts Were Superb, Others Were Unsatisfactory
Movie review

Hollywood is a highly competitive place. Competition for viewers has increased and the movie market is shrinking. For this reason, studios have to create movies that appeal to as many people as possible. However, this can lead to compromises when it comes to quality of story. To find movies that are both high in quality and appealing to a wide audience, let's take a look at A Tenet Movie Review.

While the reviewer does mention some negative aspects about the film, there are many more positive comments. A Tenet’s Story
A Tenet's Story follows the life of a boy from the slums of Colombia. He is just another kid on the street. However, he knows that he has to do something to escape poverty. When his father is killed by an overzealous policeman, A Tenet learns that there are drastic consequences for not conforming to society's expectations.
The movie starts with a family being chased by police in their home country of Columbia. The family is trying desperately to hide from these police as they're shooting at them and killing people. They get out of their homeland and go to America where they try to start a new life. Unfortunately, because they entered illegally, they are constantly looking over their shoulder to make sure they haven't been caught by authorities. This theme carries throughout the film--those who don't conform have dramatic consequences, even if it means death or exile.
As A Tenet tries to start a new life in America and eventually becomes a successful drug lord in Colombia, he struggles with whether or not his success is worth what it cost him as he sees other friends die around him or go back home empty-handed.
Characters and Casting
A Tenet Movie Review says that the casting was one of the best aspects of the film. The protagonist, Harvey Pekar, was played by Paul Giamatti. His performance is iconic and captures Pekar's personality in a profound way. The movie also stars Jeffrey Tambor as the writer, Joyce Brabner, who is well known to those who follow Pekar's life. And Michael Rapaport as Frank Stack.
However, A Tenet Movie Review says that they were underwhelmed by some of the secondary characters and their performances. For example, Keith David portrays Harvey's father in a scene where he is supposed to be an angry man. However, his performance feels flat and lacking emotion. Jennifer Jason Leigh portrays Harvey's wife Joyce in another scene where she is supposed to be sad but also angry and upset at her husband for cheating on her with Cheryl Lynn Harris (aka Crumb). However, Leigh's performance felt uneven with one moment feeling like crying while in another she sounds annoyed instead of sad or hurt.
Additionally, some of the scenes felt rushed or incomplete which led A Tenet Movie Review to believe that the story might have been truncated for time constraints or budget constraints (knowing Hollywood). For example, when Cheryl Lynn Harris leaves for New York City with her daughter Lisa and pregnant with Harvey's child after he cheated on her with Joyce Brabner-Pekar, we are never able to see how that relationship developed nor how

Themes
From A Tenet Movie Review
Themes from the movie include interpersonal relationships, trust, and power dynamics. These themes are common in movies, but this movie does a good job of weaving them together in an interesting way. Themes from the movie also include mental health and religion.
Relationships
Relationships are a key component to the film. The protagonist, Hana, and her lover, David, have sex early in the movie. When they break up and she has a new relationship with an old friend from school, their relationship is shown as platonic. This is because their first sex scene is a traumatic representation of their love. One of the most important relationships in A Tenet Movie Review is between Hana and her father. Her father has always been there for her, but once he finds out about her affair with David he disowns her. Hana's dad fights for his daughter without understanding that she needs to make mistakes to find herself.
