A Journey from Loneliness to Fulfillment

Life has become challenging in recent times for me. The very routines that had become synonymous with university life—study, work, eat, sleep—started to wear on me more than I could have imagined. The academic demands escalated, presenting a continuous stream of assignments, readings, and exams. Finding my footing within the vast sea of lectures and tutorials felt like trying to navigate through a labyrinth. The pressure to excel academically, coupled with the struggle to adapt to the fast pace of university learning, took a toll on my mental well-being.

Some may wonder, "Where are your friends?" or "Don't you have hobbies?" I do have friends, and we used to spend a lot of time together, doing things like going out and going on trips. However, things have changed. Nowadays, we're more focused on our own lives, so we don't get to meet up as much anymore.

I used to enjoy playing basketball, and I was even part of the high school team. But since starting university, I haven't had much time for it, as adjusting to the new university life can be challenging for any freshman. I often lock myself in my room almost all day and hardly see or talk to anyone, which has taken a toll on my mental well-being. However, things changed when I have a cat. She might not be the prettiest, but I love her. She keeps me company when I'm lonely. I enjoy watching her everyday activities, especially on days without classes. Seeing her eat, run around, and play with her toys brings me joy.

She's the reason I don't feel lonely when I'm alone and far from my family. One day, while watching her as usual, a playful thought crossed my mind – what if I were a cat? It was just a lighthearted idea at that moment, something fleeting that should have vanished from my mind instantly. However, after enduring the monotony and challenges of life for a while, I couldn't help but dwell on it. I imagined myself leaping around the house, snoozing anytime and anywhere, and letting go of all the worries about school, life, or anything else that plagues me as a human. It brought a smile to my face, even though it was just a passing, fanciful notion.

However, that feeling didn't last for long. the more I dwelled on this idea, the more envious I became. She, as a cat, could roam freely and do as she pleased, while I felt restricted in my own choices. But as time went by, I made up my mind. instead of getting lost in these thoughts, I decided to do something about it. I started playing basketball again, even if it was just for a short time every day. Surprisingly, This helped me make new friends, and we started spending more time together, away from our screens. Surprisingly, This decision helped me make new friends, and we started spending more time together, away from our screens.

Little by little, something changed inside me. I realized that life wasn't as boring as I had previously believed. There were chances for happiness and making connections everywhere. While the idea of being a carefree cat was nice, it also made me remember that being human, with all its challenges and joys, is important too.

So now, I have the freedom to pursue my interests, play basketball, spend time with my cat, and connect more with my friends. Life isn't so dull anymore. It's a mix of simple moments and exciting experiences. It's a journey of finding happiness in the small things and facing the ups and downs of life with a smile.
