We now live in a world where everyone has a say, everyone can vote and make there own choices, we make thousands of decisions and choices a day, for instance, what to eat for breakfast or what clothes to wear that day, all these choices we make without thinking, what if you were to lose those rights, the right to make your own decisions?
Well let me tell you...
I live in what people would call a dictatorship, in the middle of my town is a wooden stand with a big brown book, gold writing ingrained in it saying "book of rules" in every house (all painted the same) everyone has a copy of it, you want cereal for breakfast? go check the book of rules and see if you're allowed, you want to wear a dress to the shops? make sure you're allowed, in the front page of every book it has a section for men and a section for woman, Monday to Sunday it says exactly what you can eat, wear, do even how you should tie your hair!
it's crazy right!
but that's how it's done here.
you might be saying "just sneak a mouth full of what the other person is eating" or "wear a dress but only in the house", sadly that can't be done, there are cameras in every corner of ever house to monitor what you're doing!
you now might be wondering "why is someone so desperate to have control over people and to be completely honest I have no idea,
Some people like to hold power over others, they just want control everyone out of spite and cruelty, or so I thought.
let's get to real story now.
One night I was reading my book sad up in bed, that was probably the only thing the people were allowed to do freely well sort of, the book had to be local, but it could be of our choice.
I was reading a book called "enemies to lovers" although it wasn't a romance, it was about this girl who had been hiding undercover, she had a bad name at school and always argued with the teachers, it turned out she had been suffering from mental heath problems for years, and when she finally said something, the guy who would laugh and make fun of her became the love of her life! it shows there is more to a person that what you may see.
maybe there is a deeper story behind our ruler Count Christopher, he wrote the book of rules and decides everything for everyone else , he's never spoken about his childhood, the book of rules despite making everyones lives a misery, it's really nicely written, everything is grammatically correct and uses words very few have heard of (I have because I read allot).
One night I couldn't sleep, my mind was bouncing, it was like I'd just drank 50 coffees I was so awake! so I did something no one would even think to do, and that was to find out what all the rules were for.
As I crept out of my house and slowly opened the creaky door, as I turned around, my eyes we set upon what looked like the Milky Way, like a dark canvas freckled with a million droplets of white paint, the luminous stars filed my pupils, I could stand there all night but I had work to do, I had questions that needed answers,
I was a desperate as cat trying to catch a mouse only I had the sharp claws but no mouse, my legs we shaking like a sail boat on aggressive waves, I had a note book gripped tightly in my left hand with a pen in my back pocket, Count Christopher lived in the biggest house or should I say mansion, most people wouldn't consider it a mansion but compared to local peoples houses as far as there concerned its a mansion.
my hands were frozen white, I could hardly move them, the tips of my fingers were numb, I knocked the door twice, my hands were so cold it hurt my knuckles hurt from knocking, never mind butterflies in my stomach I had a tsunami of wasps stinging me on the inside, my head felt heavy and my heart was beating so fast it felt as if it was going to bust through my chest, taking deep breaths at this point would be a stupid as talking to a brick wall and hoping for an answer.
A hand with black gloves open the door, I felt as if I was going to faint, "uhh hello" I muttered "what do you want kid" the strange man said "I need to speak to Count Christopher" I said "haha and why would I like a kid like you speak to the most amazing person in this rotten town you lot call home" he joked "because those are not your words there Count Christophers, your saying that so you can be excepted by him, when you and I both know that he will never except you" I addressed, his eyes widened "come through" he quietly said. Some people will go to any extent to please someone, They never have an opinion or have a choice on the things they want to do, they'll tell you they don't mind and most of the time, they don't.
I saw a tall figure stand in front of an open fire with his hands behind his back looking into the orange and pastel like fire, the colours blended into each other, "Sir, I have a girl here who wants to speak to you" the strange man said "ok, thank you I'll address her little problem now" Count Christopher said in a sort of evil tone of voice I gulped and took a deep breath but before I could say anything he turned around and looked me in the eye, everything seemed serious until he came out with "oh it's just a kid" "yeah well I need to tell you tha-" I couldn't finish my sentence as I was interrupted by "if your upset about the disappearance of the ice cream van, the guy is on Holliday and will be returning on Monday" Count Christopher answered "no I'm here on behalf of the public, your rules are unfair" I confidently said "hahaha oh please my rules are my rules and there is nothing you can do about it" he cowardly said.
'Listen, I'm no expert but something tells me your doing all of this in spite of someone, if so please, please say because your rules are unfair your strict policy is effecting everyone, they shouldn't have to suffer because of someone trying to prove a point EVERYONE should be able to make there OWN choices" I pointed out, Count Christopher turned his head to the ground closed his eyes and said "your right, but I need to to prove a point" "to who?" I questioned, "My mother and my farther", he said "go on",
I grew up in a house hold where I had no rights at all, neither did my brothers and one sister, my parents always wanted us to have the best education possible, its sounds good but trust me, it's not, after school my friends would hang out in the park whilst I had to study and study and study" Count Christopher said trying not to break down, "you were controlled, you had no freedom" I said "exactly, once I left school mother insisted I went to law school, I was the eldest and mother said she always wanted the eldest child to be a lawyer" he muttered "You should've had the choice to be whatever you wanted to be" I said almost whispering "I had a love for English literature, so I lied, I told my parents I was at law school, when really I was studying English, I thought nothing could go wrong, but a letter came through, I was a doctor of English, when my parents found out, instead of being proud, they kicked me out".
"I'm so sorry sir" I was lost for words "that why the book of rules is so beautifully written" I said "you think?" he said surprised "yes, for a book that controls people it's nicely written".
"look, I understand you want to change the rules but it won't happen alright kid" Count Christopher explained he gave me a glare and then out of no where "GARDS, GET THIS CHILD" he shouted "wait what!" I turned my head around multiple time and then to say two strong men pick me up, the last thing I herd was "I don't like people question me" from there on everything was black...
third person.
The guards picked her up and one of them heated a knife the blade sliced straight through her, you can imagine what happened next,
The guards threw her away, somewhere no one would find her.
Count Christopher sat on his leather chair with his head down, then suddenly the guard (the one that let the girl in) sad opposite him and said "you should've listened to her, she had a good point" he said, and was about about to walk out, "I'm a dictator I don't listen to others, I make my own decisions" Count Christopher exclaimed the guard turned around and said "yeah well maybe if you listen you wouldn't be so unhappy now, does it not hurt to know you make everyones lives a misery, your doing exactly what your mother and farther did to you" he shouted, the words hit Count Christopher hard just as the guard was leaving, "Cyrus, wait" He said raising his hand "what, I'm not slave or guard now?" Cyrus questioned, "please just listen" Count Christopher whispered into Cyrus's ear...
