If there is one thing that garners a lot of praise and respect from people, it is a person bagging a degree. Getting a degree is not easy and is one of those things that a lot people aspire to. This year, a number of famous Nigerians successfully bagged degrees of their own, and today we'll be counting down 7 of them. Without further ado, here are 7 famous Nigerians who bagged a degree this year.

1. Adesua Etomi

On Monday, September 5, Nigerian actress and musician Adesua Etomi-Wellington was awarded an honorary degree from her alma mater, the University of Wolverhampton for her contribution to the creative industries. Adesua graduated with a degree in Drama & Performance from the university in 2009 and is now getting awarded a Doctor of Arts in recognition of her phenomenal contribution to arts and culture.

2. Jordan Wike

Jordan Wike, the son of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom wike also graduated with a Second Class Upper Division in Law at the University of Exeter, United Kingdom in July of this year. His father along with his mother, siblings, and governors Seyi Makinde and Okezie Ikpeazu were in attendance at the graduation ceremony.

3. Eric Akhigbe

Big Brother Naija star Eric Akhigbe is another famous Nigerian that bagged a degree this year. Earlier this year, the reality star celebrated his graduation from the University of Lagos writing on his social media, "1 degree hotter. Congratulations to me!!!"

4. Ebere Law

Comedian Seyi Law's wife is another person who bagged a degree earlier this year, on the 18th of July to be specific, from Coventry University, UK. Seyi Law took to social media to celebrate his wife saying: "Yesterday, she walked the aisle as a GRADUATE. She weathered the storm and survived. She lost a 5 month pregnancy, deferred for a year, birthed another child, took care of two children and successfully bagged her BA (Hons.) from the prestigious COVENTRY UNIVERSITY, UK. Congratulations to my wife, Mercy Stacy Ebere CHAM.od stepped in and you stepped out in style. We've got a lot to be grateful for. Proud Husband here."

5. Daniella Okocha

Another person who bagged a degree this year is the daughter of popular footballer JJ Okocha, Daniella Okocha. Daniella graduated in July and was celebrated by her father, mother, and sibling. Proud father JJ Okocha shared the news along with the picture on social media with the caption, "Congratulations to my darling daughter, we are so proud of you''

6. Ashton Akinrimisi

Ashton Akinrimisi, a public figure and son of Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello, is another person who bagged a degree this year. He graduated from Bowie State University in Maryland, USA. Proud mother Shaffy Bello wrote of the graduation, "My Joy is FULL. Bless the name of Lord. Ashton you put in the work and God blessed your efforts. Wa diru wa di igba. Your latter will be greater my love."

7. Tiwa Savage

Finally, earlier this year, Nigerian singer and songwriter Tiwa Savage was awarded with an honorary doctorate degree by the University of Kent in the United Kingdom. It was a very proud moment for Tiwa Savage who in addition to accepting her degree, also delivered quite a powerful speech.
