Introduction

Saving money is a good thing. In fact, it's one of the best ways to get started on an awesome financial journey. But saving money isn't always easy or fun—especially if you're not used to budgeting or live paycheck-to-paycheck in an expensive city like Los Angeles (where we all know that an apartment can run you $1,000/month).

But there are ways around this barrier: You just need some inspiration. Here are ten ways I've found successful (and very simple) ways to save money in my own life so far:

Set a goal.

Set a goal. You might want to save $1,000 by the end of the year or $5,000 over five years. Whatever your plan is, make sure it's realistic and achievable.

Make a list of ways you can save money: There are many ways you can save money every day without even thinking about it! Try looking into how much gas costs at different places when driving around town (and then compare that with what your friends pay). You may be surprised by just how much difference there is between those prices! Another great place to look for savings is in food shopping: grocery stores usually have coupons available online as well as flyers taped up near checkout lines which offer discounts on products like paper towels or toilet paper (just make sure they're not expired). If this sounds overwhelming then consider asking someone else who has experience doing this type of thing before them so they'll know exactly where everything should go first before starting out on their own adventure into saving dollars here today--or tomorrow morning...

Create a budget.

Create a budget.

Stick to it.

Make a budget for your business, family and car.

Live with less.

If you’re looking to live with less, there are a number of ways to go about it.

Live in a small apartment or house. If your home is too big, you'll have more money left over at the end of each month and can save up for something bigger later on.

Live in a small town or state (if possible). People tend to spend more time outside their homes than inside them—and if they're spending that time away from home, then maybe they don't need as much stuff! This can also help with keeping costs down by giving opportunity for cheaper living arrangements such as renting an apartment instead of buying one outright since most people prefer owning rather than renting anyway; however, this may not always work out well depending on how far apart these locations are from each other so make sure before moving somewhere new - especially if there isn't any access options available nearby at all times."

Move your money.

There are a lot of ways you can save money on your bills. One way is to move your money into a bank account with higher interest rate, or invest it in an investment account. You can also use credit cards with low or high interest rates to pay down debt or make purchases. The last option is getting a debt consolidation loan, which allows you to combine all of your debts into one large payment each month and reduce the amount owed by paying off small amounts of principal each month instead of making minimum payments on all outstanding balances at once

Give the gift of time.

Giving the gift of time is easy and rewarding. You can give your time to a charity, friend, family member or community group. You can also give your time to a church or children's organization.

Give away an hour each week for 10 weeks in order to help someone out who needs it more than you do!

Quit the bad habits.

If you're trying to save money, it's important to quit the bad habits that are costing you so much. Smoking is expensive and unhealthy. Drinking too much can lead to health problems like heart disease or liver damage. Gambling adds up fast! Drugs are expensive and can ruin your life if used irresponsibly (and some drugs are even illegal). Fast food isn't cheap either—if you eat at McDonald's every day then your wallet will be lightening quick! Overeating causes weight gain which eventually leads to increased health care costs over time because of chronic diseases related with obesity such as diabetes or heart disease."

Cook up savings.

Cooking at home is cheaper than eating out. If you're going to make the effort, why not save a few bucks in the process?

Cooking at home is healthier than eating out. There are all kinds of reasons why this is true: cooking with whole ingredients instead of processed ones, using spices and herbs instead of salt and oil (and less fat), etc.

Cooking at home is more fun than eating out because you get to spend time together as a family or with friends—and it's usually more interesting than watching TV or surfing Twitter on your phone while waiting for something else that needs doing anyway! You can also learn how to cook new things or improve your existing repertoire by following recipes from magazines or websites like Food Network's website where they have lots of videos showing step-by-step instructions for various dishes so you don't have any trouble following along if necessary--which often isn't necessary since most people know what goes into making most meals already after having eaten them before...

Review your bills.

Review your bills.

Find out what you're paying for and why. If a company offers a service, ask if they can do it for less or if there are other providers who have cheaper rates. You may be able to get better deals on things like electricity or internet by switching providers or buying your own equipment instead of renting one from the company offering your services (like cable TV).

Look into ways to reduce costs within your home:

Do you really need that fancy kitchen appliance? Can it be repurposed into something else? Is there another way to use that room in the house, such as converting it into an office space or attic storage area?

What about cleaning supplies — do you really need so many bottles of glass cleaner at once? What about paper towels; could they be replaced with cloth ones instead?

Do it yourself.

Do it yourself.

This is a great way to save money, because you can learn new skills and teach yourself about things that are important for your life. If you want to learn how to cook a meal or fix something broken, then go ahead and do it! You will also find that there are many different ways of doing things so that every time I learned something new in this area (it happened quite often), I could use those new skills at home. So instead of paying someone else $10 per hour ($20/hour if they have experience), I would be saving money by doing my own thing instead of just hiring someone else who has been trained on how they do their job--even if they do exactly what we need done without fail every time!

You can save money in lots of different ways if you're focused on it.

You can save money in lots of different ways if you're focused on it.

You can also use the internet to find coupons, deals and discounts for shopping online as well as in stores.
