When Science and Obsession Collide
A Chinese Girl Changes Her Ethnic Appearance In An Extreme Way Because Of Insecurity

A Mysterious Experiment Begins
In the heart of China, a young girl named Wei sits beside her father, a dedicated scientist, as he explains the wonders of a rare plant known as the corpse flower. This flower, famous for its pungent odor, attracts flies—but its real secret lies far beyond its smell. Both Wei and her father share a peculiar feature: a large scar on their cheeks. However, her father is on the verge of a breakthrough that will change their lives forever.
Excitedly, he injects a piece of rat’s skin with his latest invention and watches in awe as it regenerates seamlessly, healing the scar completely. Overjoyed, he applies the same treatment to himself. But what begins as a miracle quickly turns into a nightmare. His skin starts to regenerate uncontrollably, covering his mouth and suffocating him. In desperation, Wei tries to save him, but her frantic attempts end in tragedy—her father is dead by her own hand.
A Fresh Start in New Zealand
Years later, Wei, now a brilliant young woman, earns a scholarship to study in New Zealand. Leaving behind her painful past, she moves in with her Aunt Ling and cousin Angela. While Aunt Ling is kind, Angela and her friends see Wei as an outsider. Undeterred, Wei immerses herself in her studies, quickly impressing her professor, Dr. Paul, with her knowledge. He offers her a lab assistant position, seeing the potential in her research.
Despite her intelligence, Wei struggles socially. When she invites Angela and her friends for a meal, they mock her and leave without touching the food. Only Jasmine, one of Angela’s friends, shows her kindness. Meanwhile, Wei meets a homeless man named John, who reassures her that she is beautiful despite her scars. His words linger in her mind, but her obsession with perfecting her father’s formula continues to grow.
A Dangerous Discovery
As Wei works tirelessly in the lab, she realizes the missing component for her formula—the binding agent. She finds inspiration in the corpse flower and steals a few specimens from a nursery. Her experiment is a success. She applies the new serum to her thigh, and the skin graft heals perfectly. Overjoyed, she shares her findings with Dr. Paul. But before she can revel in her success, Angela’s friend Eve misinterprets the situation and spreads a damaging rumor that Wei is seducing the professor.
Angela, furious, confronts Wei, leading to a violent fight. In a desperate act of self-defense, Wei kills Angela. Instead of running, she makes a horrifying decision—she removes Angela’s skin and grafts it onto her own face, successfully assuming her cousin’s identity. When Aunt Ling returns home, she believes Wei is Angela, suspecting nothing.
A Frightening Transformation
Now living as Angela, Wei enjoys newfound popularity. But her secret is threatened when Angela’s boyfriend takes her on a date. As they kiss, the grafted skin slips off, revealing Wei’s real face. In shock, the boy stumbles and falls off a cliff to his death.
Panic-stricken, Wei rushes home, desperate to recreate the serum before her disguise fails completely. She suspects that Dr. Paul has stolen her father’s research. Seeking revenge, she lures Eve to her house and brutally murders her, using her skin for a new disguise. The next day, posing as Eve, she sends a fabricated email to campus authorities, accusing Dr. Paul of inappropriate behavior. The scandal ruins his career.
The Final Descent
Dr. Paul, though disgraced, continues to work on the formula. When he finally perfects it, he eagerly texts Eve, unaware she is already dead. Wei, now fully consumed by her monstrous obsession, knows she must eliminate him next.
As the police search for Angela and Eve, Wei realizes time is running out. She descends further into madness, ready to kill again to protect her terrifying secret. But with the walls closing in, how long can she truly keep her deception alive?
