FADE IN: THE SCENE FADES IN TO A CASTLE FAR OFF THE COAST OF VATICAN CITY {EVENTS TAKEN SHORTLY AFTER PRIMEVAL DARKNESS}
CHAPTER 1: INTRO
VATICAN CASTLE: {THRONE ROOM: SEMI-REBUILT}
Genevive is recovering from her wounds with a hunter she encountered earlier. She digs out the Shadow’s new arsenal: three mercury coated blow darts from her shoulder and neck.
KORA CALDWELL
“Those doesn’t look too fun to heal from...”
She gestures to the casings that Genevive is dropping one by one on the castle floor.
GENEVIVE CARTER
“You have no idea. You should consider yourself lucky. If anymore mercury was in your bloodstream, I may have not been able to resurrect you.”
She grabs her wrist, still healing from her waning power.
GENEVIVE’S LOYAL SIRE FLYIES IN DONNING HIS NEWEST TOY
ELIAS COLLINS
“Dinner!”
He drops the townie feet away from his master.
GENEVIVE
“Do you want to lead the hunters straight to our door?!”
She charges at her sire.
Elias spirals and uses his wings to gain distance.
ELIAS
“Come on. They have plenty of townsfolk. What’s one or two here and there.”
KORA
“You’ve been draining close to three a week...”
ELIAS
“The average vampire feeds from two a week.”
GENEVIVE
“The average vampire isn’t a siren and doesn’t have an entire coven counting on them.”
TOWNIE {EMILY BLUNT}
“Look... I don’t want any trouble... I just was having a drink at the Grim Pub and next thing you know, I’m in the talons of that... thing...”
Elias hisses and flaps his wings at his prey.
GENEVIVE
“Relax.”
KORA
“I mean, free delivery... I am somewhat hungry...”
The vampire empress circles the mortal studying her.
TOWNIE
“Do you want money?”
GENEVIVE
“What good is money to creatures that are hunted?”
TOWNIE
“Please... just don’t kill me...”
She slowly reaches for a knife in her back pocket.
Kora advances towards her armed prey but gets slashed by her blade.
She smirks, which quickly fades as she sees her wound heal within seconds.
Kora wipes the dried blood from her cheek and licks it.
KORA
“I bet yours tastes even sweeter.”
She sinks her fangs into her victim’s neck as she twists her wrist, breaking it.
After regenerating her strength, she tosses the drained townie into the column.
GENEVIE
“Well executed.”
ELIAS
“What now, Master?”
GENEVIVE
“We need to recruit more.”
KORA
“Already done.”
Three of Kora’s most loyal fledglings reveal themselves behind the Castle’s weakened columns and kneel to their empress and to their Coven Leader.
GENEVIVE
“While your loyalty is appreciated, I think we’ll need a bit more... of an edge if you will.”
KORA
"Was that a jab at my siring process?”
GENEVIVE
“Not at all. I just mean, we may have to have a stronger blood host.”
Elias turns at his master and nods.
He challenges Kora’s three vampire fledglings. They charge the siren in his Harpy Form.
One of the fledglings claws Elias’s face.
He counters with his own claws and charges at the fledgling sending Kora’s sire into the column using his talons
GENEVIVE (CON’D)
“Ensure your fledglings are focused on reinforcing the castle’s structure. We would hate to have our fortress collapse again.”
She nods and tells the other two to fall back and pause their sparring session.
Elias regroups near his master.
Kora bows.
GENEVIVE (CON’D)
“While their newfound vampire adrenaline will give them an edge, if any more hunters show up at our door, the pawns will be overwhelmed within seconds.”
ELIAS
“What do you suggest?”
Genevive smiles at her sire and turns to Kora.
GENEVIVE
“Kora, do your fledgings know of your Outskirt encounter?”
She bows to her leader and retreats with her fledglings.
CHAPTER 2: THE SHADOW’S ARRIVAL VATICAN CITY OUTSKIRTS
BRIAN (TO JASON)
“... Yeah. I’m positive. I thought I saw his wings just above the trees. I heard flapping too.”
JASON CHECK
“You’re sure it wasn’t just another vampire?”
BRIAN
“Regardless of his sire’s strength, I find it extremely doubtful that she was able to sire any Harpies this quickly.”
KORA AND HER FLEDGLINGS REVEAL THEMSeLVES BEHIND THE BRUSH
KORA
“You hunters really just don’t know when to quit, do you?”
BRIAN {TAUNTINGLY}
"And, you really just don’t know when to stay dead, do you?”
Kora rubs her neck; the toxins still scorching her flesh with it’s poisoned black-ink.
Brian and Jason unsheathe their mercury coated-blades and charge the vampire empress.
She dodges out of the way and her fledglings flank the hunters and palm them into the nearby tree...
