Unexpected Stranger

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I suppose every story has an beginning and sadly at one point in this life there will be an end to any story, but we're going to start from the beginning.
Red Golden hair, with bright Amber eyes, and short with a few muscles. Yes that's me in a shell. Well plus the hotheaded attitude that comes with it.
I spend most of my days working at a small book store but it's also nice that it has a cute little tea cafe on the other side of the store. I'm very grateful for that because my herbal tea is like a coffee addict that doesn't get they're coffee on a late Tuesday morning and they lose they're heads because it's been more then 45 minutes since that addict has had their coffee. Well at least that's how I'd feel if I didn't have my tea to help me though this Miserable thing I call my daily life, well I cam go without it but only when Necessary and today was one those days.
I start my day like I do every morning, I wake up at dawn then slowly make my way out of my queen size bed and onto to my bedroom floor to do my morning pushups. As I was going up and down from pushing myself back up I them noticed an red hair right at my bedroom window, I then find myself suddenly smiling thinking " It's a beautiful thing to be free to fly, isn't it?"
But of course I wouldn't know anything about that because all I've known is the dark lonely I feel when I'm finally done with my day, knowing i have nothing to come home to expect my empty apartment. Which is alright because I'd rather the quite anyway but it does gets lonely at times.
After my 30th pushup I decided to get up and jump into my shower , then from there I'll make my herbal tea and get ready for work.
I do not dread having to go to work every day because I welcome it, everyone is so kind and nobody thinks twice about you giving them a fake smile nor asks you the one question you hate the most, " Are you okay?"
To be honest with myself I wouldn't know how to really respond to such a thing. It makes me laugh thinking about it but at the same time it also makes my stomach sink. So I took a deep breath and focused on my hot tea that's in front of me. While I'm slowly drinking my tea I think about how "I wake up , do my morning pushups, then while I'm drinking my tea I then make my way down my hallway and back to my bedroom to get dressed for work, then I come back home with a book in hand and go back to bed. That's my everyday life, nobody to feel the deep vold that I feel, and that's okay."
Without realizing it I've had already finished my tea, so I frown knowing that means I have to go finish getting ready for work and I did just that. After getting dressed I look at myself in my tall mirror and made sure to get all the wrinkles out before leaving. I was wearing a long sleeved buttoned up white shirt with a black tie and a black skirt that fell just below my knees. I then looked at my shirt and noticed how I didn't have my name tag on yet. So I reached around to my nightstand and stuck my name tag on my uniform which read "Rachel".
Yes that's me, I'm Rachel, I said to myself.
I then took a very deep sigh and looked in the mirror and held a thumbs up.
"Let's do this bitch", that's what I always say to encourage myself to keep going and to remind myself that today will be like any other day, nothing will happen but to be honest I'm hoping at least one thing happens that's at least exciting.
I finally made my way down to the cafe, which is only a few blocks from my apartment ( which I happily walked ).
As I made my way to door I reached to open it but suddenly I stopped not because i didn't want to but because I heard screams and for some unknown reason those very screams shook me to my core. But not as much as when I saw the horror that I was now looking at.
Without thinking my whole body went into a panic, suddenly I was running as fast as my legs would take me. Not away from the danger but right towards it. I ran right to the side of the brick way in the alley way and lifted up my foot to it and pushed myself upward using the wall, I was now in mid air and I then balled my fists up and punched that sick fucker as hard as I could. As the second guy was about to swing at me I then ducked and put my hands on the ground so I could round kick his pathetic ass.
I was so angry that I bashed his head into that brick wall and just when I was about to turn around and finish off the first guy, they were already running away. Fucking cowards!! , I yelled and then I looked down and saw the victim they had been beating to a bloody mess; I felt the rage, the sadness, I felt all of it. I bent down to pick her up, an orange kitten. She looked at me with tears in her eyes, I then knew today I wasn't going to be able to go into work. As I was about to turn to leave with her bloodly in my hands , I looked up at the roof and that's when I saw him, watching me and he then disappeared like he never had been there in the first place.
I ignored it and ran to get the bloody kitten that was barley breathing in my arms, I ran as fast as I could to get her help. I knew the vet was just a few blocks around this corner just hoping I could make it in time.
