Twin Peaks is One of the Most Interesting and Horrific Pieces of Media I Have Seen in Years
I have become obsessed with the show while watching the first episode.

I kept hearing about all of the type to Twin Peaks, ever since I was a kid. I knew that David Lynch was the one who directed the show, and I immediately became intrigued after I had watched Blue Velvet and Eraserhead. I was beyond curious to know how David made the TV show format work with his odd directing skills, and I am now super obsessed with the show.
I'm barely on the first episode, and I am amazed by everything I have already seen with the characters and the disturbing plot.
The one thing that I wasn't expecting was the crime show drama, but the way that it's filmed is possibly the most unique direction of filmmaking I have ever seen through horror media.
During the first episode so far, it started off with a very disturbing plot. A young girl named Laura Palmer was found dead, and her death has led to so many questions. Once the town found out about her death, it was like a sort of curse invaded the residents. People were feeling her loss, and I felt so bad for so many characters.
The interesting thing that really shocked me, was Laura's secret lifestyle.
So far, the main FBI agent has found out about so many disturbing things about her background, that left me so freaked out.
One of the few things that really stood out, was that Laura was dating Bobby, but the two of them were cheating on each other with other people. Bobby's reaction pissed me off so much when he claimed that he loved Laura, and he had the audacity to get mad when he found out about her cheating on him.
The way that the evidence was discovered was so eerie. The FBI agent and the Sherrif of Twin Peaks discovered a secret videotape that Laura had shot. Only, it was a completely different person who had shot the tape. Her best friend, Donna, refused to tell the police about who had shot the footage, which turned out to be the person that Laura was seeing behind Bobby's back.
The way that the clues are building up is so enticing to watch. And of course, going back to the awesome filmmaking choice of David Lynch, it really makes the story stand out through another view point.
The way that the television show was shot, is almost dreamlike.
One shot that stayed with me, was when the authorities were questioning Laura's mother. In the beginning of the episode, the camera stays on the stairs entirely, as she is searching for Laura upstairs, not knowing the dark truth about her daughter's death.
Then later on in the episode, while the authorities are speaking with her, she tells the police that she knows how Laura's feet sound on the stairs. We then get a second shot of the stairs again, and the camera lingers on the staircase through the same view point that we got before, but something was so haunting about that shot of the stairs.
It felt like a memory, like we were now seeing the stairs through the mother's sad point of view. Now she would never hear or see her daughter again on the stairs, and that moment stayed with me. That was a genius shot by David Lynch, his style is so simple, but shots like this carry a lot of weight.
I can't wait to continue the rest of the series. I'm planning to write a whole review on the first two seasons, since I only have access with the first two seasons so far on streaming.
Twin Peaks is a masterful show, and I can't wait to continue the rest of the seasons!

I watched this show religiously when it first came out. (Old guy here. 😉) It's *very* unique. From that same era, you should consider Moonlighting. The tone is different with it but it's really unusual. It was the first thing Bruce Willis ever did. It's strange because they constantly break the 3rd wall-- talking directly to the audience. Enjoy Twin Peaks. "Who killed Laura Palmer?" I haven't heard that name in decades. Great story! ⚡️💙 Bill⚡️
